The closed system design significantly reduces malfunctions typically associated with direct-impingement gas systems, as hot carbon fouling and waste gases are not introduced into the receiver area to operate the action. This feature is essential to the operational reliability and the success of the HK417. The kit is compatible exclusively with an MR762 lower receiver. The upper kit is shipped in an HK soft case. Compatible With: HK MR762 A4 HK MR762 A1 *** *** The MR762 A4 upper receiver kit is backwards compatible with A1 MR762's, however, the A4's updated dual/ambidextrous magazine and bolt catch releases are only functional with the A4 receiver.  The standard single-sided magazine and bolt catch release functions are fully compatible with the A4 URK mounted on an A1 receiver.
