Overpriced Law Firm

This law firm was recommended by The Peggy Hill Team Realtors to close a deal on a sale of a residential home. The admin staff were pleasant to deal with throughout the transaction.

Upon closing we received an invoice for $4200! The rate for this transaction is around $1500 plus disbursements.

The firm was unable to justify this rate and unfortunately one of the partners was unreasonable and unpleasant to deal with. I found him arrogant. Funds are taken immediately from the sale and I requested a refund of half and I produced the facts as to why, they had charged an extreme amount.

I eventually received a response a few weeks later, after I myself followed up and was told nothing was going to make me happy so no refund would be sent. A reimbursement for overcharged fees would have made me happy! This was not an unfair request.

I will review this transaction on as many public forums as possible in the hope it at least warns future clients about the unreasonable fees with this law firm.
