After my previous bad review, holded contacted me and informed me of all the modifications and improvements that were in progress and those that would come in the future. They are working hard and very fast to correct all the shortcomings. There is no doubt that it will be one of the reference tools in the cloud.

Expensive for what it is as you still need to do lots of work for reports and property invoicing.
They put their price up recently to 18 Euro with IVA.
There are so many basic book keeping and invoicing options that are not possible with this software. sadly the others are not that much better. Like applying a partially paid invoice. I find it should be a much smoother process. I have been contacted by their customers service to chat about improvements. We had a constructive chat and I will keep updating my comment as we go. It looks like they take my feedback seriously and that is great.Now we have to see if they will make updates.
AVOID if you're looking for an accounting system! I am amazed at the number of positive reviews here. I can only assume that these come from a lot of freelancers and micro-business with very simple requirements. But if you're in need of a proper accounting solution along the lines of Quickbooks, Xero etc. you are better off avoiding Holded. Below I list just a few examples of the many issues I have with this company / product:
Accounting System
----------------------
* This company has NO IDEA what a balance sheet is. Their balance sheet report asks for a start and end date, whereas a balance sheet is a snapshot at a specific date. This is accounting 101, yet this company charges an arm and a leg for system that does not even meet basic accounting standards. I raised this issue with them 2 years ago and nothing has been done. Simply unbelievable...
* You cannot use simple bank reconciliation to reconcile a transfer from one bank account to another. That requires a journal entry to be created first. And guess what? Creating journal entries is only possible if you sign up for their 59€/month plan!
* Bank synchronization is unreliable. There have been many instances of duplicate entries. In some cases their support team has been aware of specific issues as they occurred and have failed to notify their customers.
User Interface

* The UI for Holded is incredibly unintuitive, inconsistent and confusing. And that's coming from someone with 30 years experience using and developing software.
* There are major usability issue with the date pickers and period related dropdown selections across the entire product. The date pickers are extremely frustrating and slow to use. The pre-populated period dropdowns contain entries that are completely useless and unintuitive. For instance when you're in January 2022 working on closing off the December 2021 quarter and you select the '4th quarter' period, it will select Q4 2022 instead of Q4 2021. That would be ok if there was an option for 'last quarter', but of course that option is missing! So then you have to select 'custom' and specify a start and end date. It's inefficient and frustrating!

* Holded are a typical example of a company driven by external investors who are only interested in growing subscriptions. They are constantly adding new functionality (which many users don't need) instead of spending time fixing what's already there. They are trying to be everything to everyone, with the result that they don't do anything particularly well.
* Support is slow to respond to issues and most support staff have no accounting knowledge or background. I come back to my first issue about the balance sheet and it is hard not to conclude that there is a general lack of accounting knowledge within the organisation.
* There is a lack of communication from the company, unless it's about new features they want to push. They will never pro-actively make you aware of any issues they are aware of. You are left to discover the issue yourself and then contact support.
* Holded are not interested in addressing shortcoming in their product. I have regularly provided feedback and improvement requests and not a single one has been addressed.
* Holded is very poor value for money. They started out with reasonably priced plans a few years ago, but have more than doubled their price for a basic accounting system in the last 12 months. Unfortunately changing accounting system is a big job, otherwise I would have done so already.
My advise to anyone considering Holded: Take your time to properly assess the system during a free trial. It may work for you if your requirements are basic and you use the system sporadically. However, if you are looking for a solid accounting solution, you will probably find very quickly that Holded leaves much to be desired.
I expect that Holded will respond to this review expressing their support and offering to address my concerns. They will do so because this is a public forum and this review makes them look bad. Well, they've had the opportunity to address my concerns for over 2 years now and have displayed a complete lack of interest...
We have been working with Holded for about 3 years. The value for moneu it is not worth it. It started as a high quality low cost alternative versus traditional programs like FacturaPlus (SAGE). Today, for a more expensive price of what we paid, it has much less functionalities. Very clear examples:
- We have a subscription of 711 €/year. We decided to put categories in the products (basic functionality); and we are asked to hire an additional module to be able to do it, so at a price of +363€ per year. The increase for a simple functionality seems totally disproportionate.
- To this day, all sales receipts cannot be mass-converted, grouping by customer into a single document under a custom date. Basic and necessary functionality.
- Holded boasts of as an open software to be able to do integrations, but it does not provide you with a role for programmers so that they can do the integration. You must give access from your own user, having an external company access to all your data (with what it means by the Data Protection of your clients). And leaving it that a third can modify documents and have access to bank data, without any control on our part.
And most frustratingly, when you communicate with Holded, due to doubts and incidents, you are constantly talking to different operators. You are not associated with an company agent, that is, an interlocutor with whom you can have a conversation and help you resolve any doubts and incidents that unfortunately appear on a regular basis.
Buying cheap comes out expensive. Now making the transition to a new program requires a lot of time and effort; which we will have to do sooner or later.
If you are unsure whether to take it, you can ask us for the full pros/cons. Hopefully, someone would have offered us a real insight before making the transition to Holded; with trial days you don’t realize all that is missing.

Fa aproximadament 3 anys que treballem amb Holded. El programa qualitat/preu no compensa. Va començar com una alternativa de qualitat i low cost versus els programes tradicionals com FacturaPlus (SAGE). A dia d'avui, per un preu més car, té moltes menys funcionalitats. Exemples molt clars:
- Tenim una subscripció de 711€/any. Decidim posar categories als productes (funcionalitat bàsica); i ens demanen contractar un mòdul adicional per poder fer-ho al preu de +363€ a l'any. L'increment per una senzilla funcionalitat ens sembla totalment desproporcionada.
- A dia d'avui encara no es pot convertir de forma massiva tots els albarans de venda, agrupant per client en un únic document sota data personalitzada. Funcionalitat bàsica i necessaria.
- Holded presumeix de programari obert per poder fer integracions, però no et proporciona un rol per als informàtics per tal de que puguin fer la integració. Has de donar accés des del teu propi usuari, tenint una empresa externa accés a totes les teves dades (amb el que suposa per la Llei de protecció de dades...). I deixant a la mà de déu que un tercer pugui modificar documents i tenir accés a dades bancaries, sense cap control per part nostra.
I el més frustrant, quan et comuniques per dubtes i incidències, parles constantment amb operadors diferents. No se t'associa un agent, és a dir, un interlocutor amb qui puguis mantenir un fil de la conversa i t'ajudi a solucionar els dubtes i incidents que malauradament apareixent de forma habitual.
Comprar barat surt car. Ara fer la transició a un nou programa, requereix molt temps i esforç; que haurem de fer aviat.
Si teniu dubtes sobre el programa, podeu contactar-nos per saber tots els pros and contres. Tant de bo, algú ens hagués donat una visió real del programa, abans de fer-ne la transició; amb els dies de prova no és suficient.
This is absolutly good to control and organize all your work.
Bad customer support, bad usability.
Good example of a company that has grown too fast to keep pace. Now they are organized in silos like a big coporate and the support team cant help much because "that is done by X team" or "it is not in my domain..."
Additionally, the integrations to the bank, paypal and shopify do not work properly, they have regular sync problems..
To make matters worse, from the accounting part sometimes we experience changes eventhough we had previous months closed.
We tried to use Holded with our shopify store. My expectations were high as I was looking for exactly this solution and features. Unfortunately even with support we were not able to solve 80% of the problems.
1) Credit Suisse shows up in the banking integrations with several logos but weirdly enough the integration is not existent and is not planned to be realized in the near future.
2) Paypal is not syncing correctly due to a bug in the system.
3) Product sync from shopify is not working at all although our shop is linked correctly.
4) Customer support takes quite some time to reply (in my case up to 1.5-2 business days!). Very frustrating.
Long story short: we did not even make it beyond the "onboarding phase" because nothing really worked properly. If I could give zero stars I would give zero stars.
Starting from their sales team, through the platform itself and ending with the customer service - I have to say this is the best experience with a provider I personally have had.
Transparent and honest - which is rare find. Unfortunately, we are all used to people trying to take advantage of us and we read the small script and look for traps - nothing like this with Holded. Transparent contract and billing, no hidden fees.
The team was extremely helpful when setting it all up and very reponsive when we had questions afterwards.

If you're content with really BAD userabiity and like to download everything into Excel and run pivot tables, than Holded is for you. The calendar range is awful, it doesnt make any sense! Whenever I want to put in a custom date range, it jumps all over the place and is not intuitive at all. (You have to actually use the calendar on the bottom, and the calendar you see isn't the range you want, just the 2 consecutive months). There's no way to automate messages to clients to remind them of payment, which means I have to manually chase my clients for payments. In other invoicing systems I've used, I could set up a 10 day reminder, and then an overdue reminder. Here, I have to rely on setting up reminders in my Google Calendar to then manually email my clients. If you have a lot of international clients, this is also not capable of understanding different exchange rates (my revenue consistently changes because it doesnt freeze the XRT on a given day, so then when i do bookkeeping, it's always off).
To all those people that have said customer service is great...you can see it with your own eyes. Scroll down these reviews and you'll see that the company ONLY responded to those reviews that rated the company positively. They clearly dont give two sh*ts if you're not satisfied with the product. I have also dealt with their customer service department, and they never know how to solve anything.

As a provider to international clients, Holded fell far short of the mark. We are an Irish company with staff in Spain and chose Holded to start with as we launched our business. Support is not available real-time. Support is not able to share screens or communicate via teleconference or other audio tools, unless as an exception. The international Chart of Accounts is not properly mapped to the financial statements, leading to misstatements of financial records. I was fortunate enough to have one support team member, Javier, that saw my struggle and contacted me to spend an hour via teleconference (an exception) to understand my issues and try to help. However, he was limited in what he could do from the support side, as my issues were in great part, systemic and needed the technical team to solve. Never happened. Some of the support staff simply reprocess canned responses that miss the mark on what is asked. Posting to the chatbot in mid-morning may result in an answer to your question by mid-day. Or you may simply get a "I don't understand your question" and upon trying to clarify, you can spend the rest of a day, or two days, or over a weekend waiting for an answer. We changed to Quickbooks after suffering Holded for almost a year and getting more and more confused results as time went by. Spend the extra few Euros per month and go to Quickbooks from the start. At least there is a strong community and strong support!

It's an easy to use platform, with a ton of useful features to manage your Invoicing, Costs and Taxes. Good sync with bank also.
Best of all is their awesome Customer Experience, very friendly and always ready to help. We have a lot to learn from them!

We use Holded for all of our business requirements and it has some excellent features, CRM, Team/HR and inventory ERP.
The online chat support is very good but they have limited abilities apart from referring back to the developers.
We do however struggle with certain items for UK based businesses as it hasn't been setup for Making Tax Digital (MTD), and it is difficult if your company FY is not a calendar year as all of the Tax reports are setup up for calendar years, it also does not link with HSBC business bank accounts for reconciliation so this is a manual laborius process currently.
Holded has all the workings of an excellent business solution but does need to have various refinements in regards to UK tax requirements (our accountants basically said it is 80% completed on a good accountancy program, just needs further functionality and refinement).
We do see that it is still evolving and are excited to see what is available in the future.
*Our accountant is exploring if we can use Holded's API to link to Xero for accounting reasons only (VAT and End of year returns) and use Holded for all other business related activities.

Cancelation function does not work I can not cancel, asks for password and then says it is incorrect despite me using it to login. I also found the location for cancelation difficult, as it is not on the subscription page as would be logical.
I used Holded for over a year, and they have updated the layout and it has slowed the access down to key information. It looks great, but not as functional for my needs.
Disappointed with not being able to cancel I await them opening tomorrow to rectify this, more time wasted.
