I purchased Homax ceiling texture spray to patch my ceiling and it is awful. I suppose it works perfect if I could remove my ceiling and put it on the floor where all the spray ends up.

The texture spray product is virtually worthless. You have a 50/50 chance that the home spray unit will function for more than 3 secs. Very very unreliable product. Do not waste your money.

Repairs on ceiling knockdown. Two areas repaired. 1st area used an old (5yrs) can. Worked great. 2nd area had to purchase a new spray container. Shaked the can, practiced a pattern on cardboard. Product sprayed on well but immediately went flat. Practiced with three different technics. Used my best technic on the 2nd area. It all went flat. Nothing to knock down. Purchased 2nd container from a different source, followed instructions to a T, same results. I see they now have a pro grade for 30% more $$. Maybe that has something to do with it.

BUYER BEWARE. I used the Homax Tough as Tile Refinishing Kit in aerosol form. I followed instructions to the letter and my bathtub has a rough surface. I called tech support and rep was very nice but the extent of his ability to help is only what Homax provides so this is in no way a reflection on him. They ask you a bunch of troubleshooting questions about the process you used like 'How long did you shake the canbefore using?', in order to transfer blame on the user rather on the product. ☆The fact that they have this dialogue should be proof enough that this product is flawed.☆ In the end, the only thing they can offer you is a refund, but what good is that? The remedy is to remove the product from your bathtub. Yes, here's your money back and in return we will give you an impossible task. ☆Homax recommendation, 'remove our product'☆. Thank you, Homax! This is what was determined to be 'possible' issue: I was asked to read the batch number from bottom of can. This number obviously corresponds to when the product was manufactured. Appatently, my product was manufactured in 2021 (currently 2023). The number on bottom of can is *21117 5M 1115 A 11101*. This number does not depict anything to the consumer. It is not in a date format, it does not specify an expiration date or a shelf life date. My logical question was, 'Well, where do I locate the expiration or shelf life date(s)? What is the shelf life? I was not given a clear answer to this, only that this was towards the end of its shelf life. To be clear, I don't think this had anything to fo with the result of bathtub texture and I followed all the preparation and application instructions. I just hope I can save someone the time and aggrevation.

I used the product as directed for medium coverage which the can says cover approximately 75 sqft but I only experienced approximately 28 sqft. I only had a couple of little runs. The coverage was even and I was happy about that but disappointed about the coverage amount advertised on the can.

This product is a waste of money. It will spray approximately 25% of the can before getting clogged. After that, your can is considered garbage. You can clean out nozzle but to no avail, it is done. Warm water doesnt help like it does with orange peel. Knockdown requires higher psi to spray and Homax can't figure out how to make that adjustment. Pro grade is almost worse for approx 50% more cost. I suggest staying far away from this product.

So, did as the directions said, then went to spray (according to directions) and the white nozzle fell off. I put it back on and this junk sprayed in large lumps, making a huge mess.

Don't bother with this junk.

Bought two cans of Homax Ceiling Texture Pro Grade knockdown water based. This is my second time I have used HOMAX products and had issues both times.

This time I had issues with very foamy product that dried very porous.
I checked online and could not find anything to help me out and even made a call to their help line which is closed today. I did find one video that suggested to shake the can at least five minutes and not the one minute after you hear the ball rattle that the directions on the can tells you to do.

I have two thirds of the can left and there is no pressure left in the can.

I had issues with the popcorn texture several years ago but got it to wok good enough for what I wanted. The can ran out of pressure almost within 30 seconds after I started to spray it on the ceiling.

Purchased the tub paint and it sucked! I put on the second coat, walked away to let it dry for the 4 hours, came back and the paint had run down and dried with drips in it. It took me many hours to completely remove all of the paint and start over. I used Rust-oleum the second time and it came out beautifully. When trying to call Homax, I was on hold forever and had to try several different days. I actually was on hold for almost 2 hours one day! No bueno!

What a bunch of junk!! Every time I buy this....I buy about a dozen cans. I shoot each can until the propellant stops which leaves about 2/3 of a can left then I return them all.
Directions say to spray at 18".....lucky it you get 4"
I've bought this for years for small jobs.....it's ALWAYS been this way. Need to by 12 cans to do a 2 can job!

Bought the Tile Grout Coating to brighten my grout. This stuff reminds me of white shoe polish. Did all the prep and started application. My personal opinion is that the applicator needs to be redesigned. No matter how careful I was, the product was placed on the sides of the tile instead of the grout. This causes a great deal of wasted product. After 24 hours I lightly wipe the tile. The extra product came off easily. In a few days I will see how it looks and decide if its worth the cost of another bottle.

Don't bother . This product is crap,cheap nozzle falls apart ,good luck trying to adjust it .shook can for 3 minutes . Save your money

I’ve tried their wall texture several times and it’s garbage. Watched the video, shook it, warmed it in some warm water, no matter what I do it oozes out if the can like toothpaste then falls off the wall. Have never gotten a good texture job from it yet. Just makes a mess.

Had to throw first can away. Started spraying out of control and could not get it to stop. Took it outside and let it empty itself out. Second can was ok. Third can the nozzle was clogged and even after using a pin to clear, it would not spray. Garbage!

tried the Homax Ceiling Texture and its really bad. It sprays out in huge clumps and runs down. The nozzle doesn't work to move it from Fine to heavy. Anything would be better than this product. The good reviews you see here must have come from Homax employees forced to put a comment or their marketing department people cheating.

I painted on the product exactly as prescribed, and in less than a year it began to chip and float off. When I contacted Homax, they said I needed a receipt for reimbursement, and also said that the product only lasts for about 2 years at best. I thought this was a permanent fix.

Purchased the Homax Knockdown product from Lowe's on two occasions. The second time in hope the first time was a one off. Wrong! Both products, Pro Grade and Standard, just dribbled out of the nozzle and down the side of the can. A total waste of money. Oh, yes, read the instructions, watched the video, theirs and others on YouTube, to no avail. The product is crap. Will not purchase any Homax products again.

I purchased the popcorn easy patch to use on a ceiling. Read all the instructions, watched how to video multiple times and did everything as instructed. Worked like crap. Ended up having to scrape off all the patch as well as clean up everything in the room-even though it was covered with tarps. This junk went everywhere. Called, tried live chat-NO ONE at this company will reply. What do they have to hide. Are they intentionally selling inferior products and then avoiding the customer-thus just purposely ripping off the public. I would not use Homax or PPG products ever again. These are obviously unethical companies that don't care about their customers or repeat business. I encourage all that have been ripped off by these companies to write negative reviews on all websites you can find. The public must be warned.

We've been using this product for years, but then it was no longer available in our area. I ordered it directly from Homax, only to discover that the material was changed! It did not preform as we were used to. It was like a very different product. We had to doctor it up.

The wall patches I purchased from Homax worked as expected. A good source for this product.
