What is going wrong with 38 degrees

The great point of this company is that it picks up on (sometimes obscure) information that exposes serious social problems. The great defect is that there are so many of these (a sad world we live in !) that (1) appropriate indignation becomes diluted and (2) the number and extreme diversity of the issues on which the organisation seeks funds for action is so very wide and frequent, and the methods of achieving action on them are so diverse that the most committed subscriber becomes sceptical of the ability of 38 degrees to make effective impact

Constant donation requests!

I thought some of the petitions in the past by 38Degrees were a good idea. It looks like from the reviews left here that some people feel they lean too far left and I had no issue with this until I began to understand more. Recently some of the petitions sent to me really aren't things I would support at all and I've given feedback on this.
My main issue was with the bombardment of donation requests! I understand they need to make money but the requests to 'chip in' are relentless and aren't always for things I agree with. I have no money to spare as it is! I only started doing these petitions because of the awful rent situation in England and felt powerless to change things. I think I'll be unsubscribing from these emails from now on!

Gives you a voice

This organisation allows the voices of people to be heard amongst the clamour of conflicting interests and money-for-lobbying that affects much of the political world at the moment.
They deserve your support.

Glad to be on board

I am so glad 38degrees exists to campaign more effectively than I can about so many of the important issues of today. I almost always find their campaigns sensible if not vital in campaigning for changes that our society needs.

I have been asked to submit a review…

I have been asked to submit a review because I have supported or given my opinion why I do not support some of the campaigns. The purpose of the request is to counter the negative reviews on trustpilot recently received. I was not aware that such reviews existed so have taken the opportunity to read them back to 2021.
I find myself agreeing with many of the reviewers both positive and negative but have remained a subscriber because I feel that it is essential to represent the day to day views of the population on major issues that will impact their lives. The "Silent Majority" have an opportunity through 38 degrees to express support or oppose the views put forward. I fully understand why this may not sit comfortably with some people but unfortunately this will always be the case. Perhaps we all need to be a little less reactionary and form a considered opinion balancing the positives and negatives of each situation to reach a rational conclusion for our own benefit as well as that of others.
I will continue to contribute to 38 degrees campaigns constructively and express my views in support or opposition on each topics merits.

38 Degrees provide a valuable public…

38 Degrees provide a valuable public service. They highlight many of the discriminatory and negative traits in society, and exhibit a positive and generous attitude towards improving our society.
I recognise that others may have different views and would politely request them to express them in a civil manner.
Keep up your great work 38 Degrees team.

Have your voice heard.

38 Degrees has given me a voice where I've had none. I've found they echo the concerns of myself, my family and my friends. If I don't agree with someone's petition, I don't have to sign it.

Give it a try. It's so good to know that I'm not alone with my feelings and opinions.

A senior citizen’s viewpoint.

I have been a member of 38degrees for many years and respect the framework it gives for individuals to have a public voice.
I appreciate the fact that I can contribute my opinion on the direction and focus of the group, that I am not bombarded with campaigns but only those in my perceived area of interest, and that I am able, through this medium, to contribute publicly to the social/political debate when I am well passed the time of life when I can join many on street protests!

I joined the 38 Degrees community…

I joined the 38 Degrees community because I want to try to influence what happens in our country without having to join a specific campaigning or political group. The experience is empowering, especially when we see the fruits of our activities. I can be selective and I am not pressured to do anything I don't want to. I also have the opportunity to influence what 38 Degrees campaigns about. Very worthwhile.

Public matters from 38 degrees

38 degrees presents campaigns to the public, which are topical issues. Sometimes they will incorporate a survey or question the respondent's line of thinking on a subject. I think they get good feedback on issues, and can raise significant signatures such that parliament needs address the matter. There is obviously no compulsion to sign every petition; I am selective, though in general, they are raising pertinent points.

I have been supporting petitions for 38…

I have been supporting petitions for 38 Degrees for many years I only support the petitions I think will help people in general as we all need a little help now and then and it’s a good way for the little people to stick together and get our word out there, some people might not agree with every petition that put out there well that’s fine as everyone one has their own opinions but this is a way for the general public to be heard so if you don’t agree with a petition don’t sign your name to it I find it strange that people have gone on trust pilot with derogatory remarks well it’s a great big world out there how many of us could get our word out there or even bother to put ones word out if wasn’t for sites like 38 Degrees

IA good report for 38 Degrees

I have found that 38 Degrees always raise issues that concern me and fellow residents of the Uk. I have willingly signed a number of petitions concerning important issues - stopping winter fuel payment for pensioners; water companies flouting the law, then paying huge bonuses. I think it is important these issues receive publicity and that 38 Degrees provide the opportunity to have my voice heard.
