Some folks say this is a borderline scam. I say it is a FULL SCAM. They sent me an email that they charged me for the year for 2 dogs and yet, I can't find the amount nor the credit card they used. When I contacted them about 5 times via their "customer service" site, all I got was a scam about buying services--no help whatso ever for their "24/7" services. Their phone number only brings you to the non-helpful information and they keep sending me emails saying my password will be reset. Okay folks--let's get them for what they are doing!!!! Can you imagine trying to contact them if there is a REAL emergency?

This edges on borderline scam. I was exposed to 4 scammers in a 2 day span, all claiming to have my “lost pet”. They all played the same script of paying $100-$150 to have my pet returned. Not only does HomeAgain try to nickle and dime you during a stressful time($100+ for a “front page ad is ludicrous” you’re not Google…
HomeAgain is also a hunting ground for scammers to take advantage of people who are desperate.
When your pet gets lost there are many places you want to go to get the word spread. I would not recommend HomeAgain. Its “network” does not target nearby neighbors who are likely to call in information regarding your pet. You’re more likely to hear back worthwhile community feedback on apps like NextDoor/Ring.
Instead it publishes potentially private information to a large network of unvetted people, some of which may be trying to capitalize on people’s lost animals which is cruel.
HomeAgain please do something about this.

Absolutely not helpful at all. I found the area where my cat was and they said it was up to me to try to get her back, that I was on my own. Rather than try to send someone with a trap to help me out. I did get her back, but not because Home Again helped, because my NEIGHBOR did for free. This company is a joke. There's no sense in using a company that does nothing but report your pet missing for you. Why even microchip them? Waste of time, money, and energy. Screw them.

My chip was put in my Shepard by my Vet for my other rescue dog. I've cancelled the debit card due to the reviews I've seen and the company jeeps trying to Bill me. I've tried to cancel the subscription and it not going thru.. I've now changed Vets for both rescues.

I called last year and signed up, paid. Then I received a letter from an attorney about this company and received a settlement because this is not an acceptable need to register your animals chip. It's already registered when it's done by your vet. Today I receive a charge out of my account again by HomeAgain! I did not authorize this transaction yet here you are taking it out. I did not call to register my animal again but you took it out again this year. I cannot find a number to call anyone. What a scam company as the attorney letter I have states you are as well. Disputing and ordering a new card is a hassle but scammers at their finest keep us doing this time and time again!!! Have the day you deserve!

LOUSY AND COMBATIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Could take my credit card info but couldn't speak with me about my dog's account not being available online!!!

No 800# to actually speak to a person, though they brag about 24/7 support at web-site. Heaven help you if you actually lose a pet and would like to generate a poster to plaster your neighborhood. Do the pricey pet tags have information on the back side? Who know, web-site does not show this. Can you update your new address and have the system actually save it? I don't think so...as I have to keep putting it in the system. Wow. Company collects $20 a person/pet and this is what we have to show for it? :(

I am so thankful for Home Again! My not-so-little escape artist slipped out and was missing for three hours. Thanks to Home Again, I was notified when he was found, and we were reunited in minutes!

It was so easy to report that my cat was lost. HomeAgain responded within minutes. Because my information was previously entered, I was able to get a lost pet poster generated very quickly. It took off a lot of burden, and allowed me to focus on searching for my cat! Also the tips on the website were helpful. And, knowing HomeAgain support was available eased my mind. Thankfully, my cat came home within 8 hours. Again, it was so easy to report that she had been found. This is such a great service, and I’m so grateful for it.

First, if I wouldn't have had this INCREDIBLE service, I would have never gotten my Gussy back!! Long story short, he was missing for 9 months and when the older couple finally got him to the vets (her daughter had him first), they scanned him and I got a call that I had been waiting for!!! This is an amazing service!

Home Again was wonderful. They helped me navigate their web site to include the information they needed to locate my dog Sky. I called back a couple of times to follow up & they were kind & patient every time. Thank you Home Again for locating my dog Sky within 24 hours!

I tried to cancel my annual membership, but it's not possible to do on the website. You have to contact their customer service either by email or phone. It shouldn't be that onerous to cancel a membership so they don't automatically charge you again each year. That's very poor business practice and they've lost my trust.

They won't let me change the name on the account even though they're MY cats. My ex had filled out the paperwork for 1 of the cats, we divorced 6 years ago and have no contact. HomeAgain REFUSES to change the name on the account unless he approves the transfer. All of the info on the account is mine except for the name. How are they going to contact him??? These are MY cats, he never owned them.

For many years I have recommended this registry to all of my friends and also colleagues in the rescue community- but that stops now. I reported my cat (who was registered with HA) as LOST one year ago and the other day I received an email stating that someone was requesting a transfer of information for my cat! I was elated that he was found but HA didn’t inform me of that- they just asked if I approve transfer of ownership to the finder! Of course I said NO -but they did it anyway! Also, they will not tell me who has my cat.
I have no faith in this registry and am now in the process of registering all my pets with either AKC Reunite or Petlink. I advise everyone to do the same.
Never transfer your pet ownership or they will make it IMPOSSIBLE to use their services. Last year, a family member transferred ownership of our dog to me since they do not allow you to register a pet under multiple family members and it was a several months long process to finally get Home Again to honor the change. Now that my pets microchip has expired this year, they will not let me renew it online. No matter what I do, an error message appears telling me call customer support. Except the phone number listed is not a valid phone number. If I email them, they call back and leave a voicemail telling me to renew online. Which I can't. All I want to do is renew the microchip. And GIVE THEM MONEY. Why do they make this impossible?!?!?!?!?!?
I was eventually able to renew the chip, but it shouldn't take multiple phone calls, emails, and voicemails just to make a payment. This has been a hassle for multiple years at this point between the initial hassle of transferring ownership last year which required multiple emails and written letters and now the issues with renewing this year. They seriously need to work on their processes and improve their customer experience.

I wrote a review about Home Again pet microchip. I’m writing a second review as I cannot answer the reply from the company. My issue is I am the dog(s) owner…period. No one else is on the adoption paperwork. I am divorced and needed to take my exes name off the account. He should have only been on the account as an additional person to contact and not an owner. I made two phone calls, answered two emails sending in my drivers license and passport as proof of my restored maiden name. Both ID’s cannot be obtained without proof of restored maiden name via my divorce, my updated social security card, birth certificate, and state ID. Why isn’t Home Again thinks I should send them a full copy of my divorce decree? This is none of their business. Or ask me to contact my ex…I have an active restraining order of protection against him, and furthermore I do not have any contact.
So I say to Home Again I already signed up with a different company and will advise all of my dog veterinary friends, along with rescue and anyone I know NOT to use this company. Home Again you want it your way or no way…so I went with a different company and I am completely satisfied.
Would rate 0 stars if I could. Dreadfull customer service. I've repeatedly requested that my pets and personal information be removed from their system. Despite this, I continued to receive renewal reminders for deceased pets, showing a complete lack of sensitivity. This company demonstrates a disregard for customer support and responsible marketing. I would never recommend using them.

I recently went through a divorce. We share custody of our dog which we have had for almost 12 years. When I contacted home again to be added to the micro-chip contact information in the event that our dog got lost, they refused to add me. I sent them a divorce decree, a vet bill in my name, and the post-nuptial agreement that details joint custody. They will not add me without my ex's consent. I should not have to fight with a company to be added as a contact for a dog that I have owned for 12 years.
reply to HomeAgain's comment: I sent a fully executed divorce decree. In PA, if you don't go through the court, the post-nup is not recorded. I AM, and have always been, the current owner along with my ex. HomeAgain's policies are antiquated. I was also told that IF my ex would allow my name to be included in the micro-chip information, only HIS email and address would be associated with the micro-chip. If there are two owners, have both parties information is only going to be of benefit to the pet in the event they are lost. I now would rate HomeAgain a 0.
