Unsafe Product and Misleading Customer Service From Tefal

In September, I got a Tefal hot water dispenser (model BR3508G0), which was new to the market. I believe this product is unsafe. Notably, during my complaint, this model was removed from the Tefal website and has never been relisted.
After around one month of use, I set the machine to dispense 350ml of water at 95°C. I briefly left the kitchen and returned to find the dispenser had failed to stop and was continuously pumping near-boiling water over the worktop and onto the floor. Fortunately, there were no children or pets present.
Despite acting quickly, damage was caused to the kitchen plinths and the side of the breakfast bar. I contacted Tefal immediately and the case was escalated to their claims department, who asked me to obtain prices for the damaged items and two repair quotes.
Throughout numerous calls and emails, Tefal never suggested user error. The dispenser was advertised as only being able to dispense specific quantities, and I had previously confirmed with both Amazon and Tefal that it could not dispense more than the selected amount.
Tefal collected the machine for inspection. When it was returned, I was told they could not replicate the fault and that I must have activated “manual mode.” This mode is poorly explained and was never mentioned by any Tefal representative during prior communications.
When Tefal returned the dispenser to me, the lid had been forced down, and the cannister arrived broken, we put this down to poor packing of the item but it was also damaged internally which could not have been done during transit, this damage made the machine unusable. A Tefal representative, Thabit, confirmed a replacement canister would be sent. Despite repeated requests, this has never arrived. I was given a DPD tracking number, but the dispatch company employed by Tefal later confirmed the parcel was never collected and the canister was supposedly awaiting dispatch in a manager’s office. Over a month later, nothing has been received.
Tefal have taken no responsibility for this product failure. While customer service initially appeared helpful, their engagement stopped once it became clear we would not accept being fobbed off. Given the safety incident and the product’s removal from Tefal’s website, I would strongly caution others against Tefal products.

Pot and pan set coating comes off very quickly.

We went to the Braintree village as we needed some new pots and pans. Had a look in the Tefal shop and saw what looked like a good coated none stick set.
They were the worst set I have ever owned. The Coating has come off within one month. I will be taking these back for a refund. But if anyone is reading this. Don’t buy the Tefal teflon coated sets, as they are no good. This brand has gone down hill in the last few years.

Recently bought the Tefal Oleoclean…

Recently bought the Tefal Oleoclean deep fat fryer, looking at some reviews it came out on top. However, once unpacked and topped the oil up to the level required, I noticed the oil level was only deep enough to fry chips. The level of potential cooking oil is only 1 inch deep, so basically the only thing you can cook in this device are items 1 inch in height. The device should be sold as a shallow fryer and is not as advertised or fit for purpose. Currently looking at other fryers as this 1 will go in the bin at a loss of £100. Never again

I was given the opportunity to receive a discount from Tefal after returning a defective frying pan. I had to navigate to Homeandcook.co.uk, choose an item (the above frying pan) and call the number provided to receive the discount. This I did and was happy with the discount and purchased the pan. It was delivered promptly and I have used it and I am very happy with the pan.
The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the website was not offering me the products of a similar price but more expensive.
They say it's not the selling that makes a good company, it's how they deal with a problem. I have to say, Tefal dealt with my issue very well and I will be a returning customer. Well done Tefal Customer Services.

If I could leave 0 stars I would.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TEFAL EVER.

We purchased an air fryer oven easyfry 9in1 after 2 uses it broke, called Tefal who arranged replacement by courier. Thought this was great until just an empty plastic box arrived to send back our unit for repair.

Apparently they don’t exchange faulty units but repair them. Ours was only out the box 2weeks and has only been used 2 times.
I called Tefal and was told it would be returned in 5 working days. So ok I can live with that.

One month later after numerous calls emails and hair pulling out. Our fryer has been returned.
We had to call Tefal as our brand new fryer was scratched and damaged and was far from the condition it left us in.

The covers look like someone has taken a screwdriver to them to pry them off and damaged the plastics.
Our new fryer now looks like an old dog and Tefal don’t want to know.

I have now taken this up with my bank for a refund as I’m just in shock at the lack of customer service and respect for my property.

Company is a complete sh** show and I will never buy Tefal products ever again.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. I ordered a high spec iron on next day delivery. I received the order next day but the box contained a v low spec iron - completely different to what I ordered. I spent 45 mins on the phone trying to resolve the issue and they said they would arrange collection of the wrong iron the next day (16th) and send out the correct iron in 3-5 working days. This is ridiculous as they sent the incorrect iron and you would expect them to correct their error and send the new iron the next day. I was promised they would try get the new iron delivered the next day (of course it wasn't). The following day (16th) no collection was made - I chased them twice but the customer service team were extremely unhelpful and rude. They could provide me with no information, saying it was out of their control?!?! Finally the incorrect iron was collected on the 19th but still no information given as to when I would receive the correct iron that I had ordered and paid for. Spoke to customer services again but as always they seemed to want to get off the call asap and could not give me any information other than that the correct iron would be delivered in 7 days!!!! Again I repeated that this was not acceptable, as why should I wait another week for the iron I had ordered next day when it was their muck up!! Again they said it was out of control and couldn't give me further information but that they would email DPD and would let me know if he got a response from them!!!! Quite honestly, I don't expect an update and have no idea when I will receive my iron. Appalling customer service!! Unhelpful, ignorant and haven't got a clue how to deal with customer queries.

Wish I’d read Trustpilot reviews first

Big names are not always the best, needed a new set of pans as I had changed my hob to a induction hob and had to discard all of my old pans, on looking for replacements I thought I would go for a well recognised brand as I didn’t want to replace them for many years, how wrong was I, I purchased a set of Tefal Ingenio unlimited pots and pans, starter set, five piece, stackable with removable handles from Amazon, within 8 weeks the handle would not release, leaving me with the use of just one pan, on contacting Amazon they put me in touch with Tefal, who have asked me to return them for investigation, no indication of how long they would have them, I have asked them if I could take them somewhere to exchange rather than return them as I would not have anything to cook with have hard nothing.

Worst customer service imaginable

After reading reviews I decided on buying a 3 in 1 air fryer
Firstly I read on their website that if I signed up to their newsletter I'd get 25% off so I signed up and got a code
I then ordered my air frier and the confirmation said I should expect to receive it within 5 days
I then noticed that I'd been charged the full wack
I then tried phoning them to find that I was 25th in the queue so I put them on speaker phone and waited and waited. Then I lost the connection through no fault of my own and tried again
Getting through to them took up a good part of my day
They did resolve my issue with much tooting and froing to speak to their manager etc
Finally they did refund my card with the 25%
That should have been the end of it so I waited out 5 working days but no sign of it
In fact it took 15 days during which I called and emailed to be told it was due to Brexit, Ukraine and postal strikes
Well no other companies that I deal with had such delays,
Brexit is over a year ago and most companies had come to terms with it and ironed out the complications and the postal strike was only for 2 days, not 2 weeks
In fact during the same period I received a large heavy packet from Germany in much less time
Totally fed up I called again and said I wanted my money back and to cancel the order to which I was told it wasn't possible. After a big argument I threatened to claim it through my credit card company
Voila the very next day I received an email with a tracking number. Parcel force were going to collect my package from the warehouse
It arrived 2 days later.
Not wanting to go through the polava of returning it and fighting for a refund I decided to try it out.
The instructions were complicated ind instead of a decent manual all I got was a leaflet with diagrams. I had to learn how to use th through YouTube videos
I finally got to use it properly and have to say that I'm impressed. I cooked a whole chicken in less than 20 minutes and it came thoroughly cooked an crispy
So I decided on keeping it. I only hope nothing goes wrong where I'll need to use their awful customer service

Appalling customer service

Just ordered one from Amazon instead, delivery tomorrow (Tefal could learn a thing or two ), will be contacting Credit card company to process a section 75 claim as Tefal can't be bothered to help me. Happy to take my money though!

Awful service and no comms

Placed an order online and paid, delivery advised would be with 2 to 5 working days later.
Now 7 working days later, no goods and other than initial email confirmation, no communication.
Awful service.
Will now contact my credit card company to process refund.

Melting handles on the Ingenio pots and pans

I purchased the Tefal Ingenio pots and pans set last week and the handle melted as I was cooking. I called up customer service and I was told that I wasn’t supposed to leave the handle on the saucepan when I am cooking! She was completely ignorant, unhelpful and rude. She basically told me to re-order the product because melted handles are not covered under their warranty. Who on earth cooks without holding onto the handle on the saucepan!
I spent £250 on these pots and pans, and all I get told is that I shouldn’t have cooked with the handles on it and I should have read the care instructions!
I would never buy their products again!

Amazing customer service

Amazing customer service - my old original Actifry was playing up - they offered to take it for repair just before Xmas even though I was just out of warranty. I waited 6 weeks and then contacted them. Because it was likely to take longer due to issues with getting parts from France they have now replaced my machine with a little upgrade. Thank you - and a shout out to Sunil who dealt with me all along and was nothing but extremely helpful.

Hopeless

Bought this on 31 July 2021. When I went to use it today, the front display did not come on.. Checked that there was power to socket. Obviously an internal electronic problem. Phone Tefal on number provided for complaints. No response. Tried twice more, then reverted to chat line instead. Told to send it for repair. Said I want refund. I was told there is no other option but send it for repair repair.told they will put me through to Tefal. Still waiting .............

Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service. I bought a very expensive pot set. Although it arrived next day. It arrived tapered and opened. After spending a crazy amount of time on the phone having to email photos of the packaging before we got anywhere, I was told the set would be picked up and assured that when a replacement set would be provided on the same day. Only one half of that commitment was fulfilled. I am now over a week without a set of pots! I called again and spent a very long time again on the phone only to be told that I would have to wait for the returned set to be checked in to ‘the warehouse’ the a set would be sent out again subject to availability and that timescales are currently long. I said well I can’t wait as I have no pots so process a refund ASAP. But alas again this is also along the very long timescales with an addition of 14 days to process the refund!!! Have we gone back to 1998 or something?! Customer service was very very poor, I have zero confidence in this outfit so will be purchasing from a supplier who ‘never knowingly undersells’ and knows how to treat paying customers! Avoid avoid avoid!

Really poor quality item broke within…

Really poor quality item broke within weeks then equally poor and slow service waiting for someone to uplift inspect and hopefully resolve. Unfortunately this will take weeks and I cannot use any of the pans in the meantime as the team ingenio handle has broken.

Beware!

Purchased a Tefal stainless steel kettle in September 2019 from Home and Cook in Braintree Village and less than 5 months later it started to leak and rust by the water measure window and around the opening. Due to lockdown I was unable to take it back but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because I’ve just been in the store and they said they would send it back to tefal. This is appalling service as it would’ve left me without a kettle and it says on the receipt ALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS ARE SUPPLIED WITH A 2 YEAR GUARANTEE. I would never purchase a tefal product again and as the other person said would stick to Argos where you would get a replacement straight away.
