Avoid at all costs!!!

I engaged Home Improvements Dublin in July for a simple gutter fix… well, at least that’s what I thought at the time.

The crew arrived late, and from the very start I had a feeling things wouldn’t go smoothly. It took them two hours to “fix” two leaks. During their work, I noticed they had lifted a section of the roof tiles, which I had not asked them to do. When I questioned it, they said it was a “routine check” and that their boss, Terry, would call me shortly to discuss it.

About 30 seconds later, Terry called and said that apparently there were additional repairs needed, and they could do them straight away. I did not agree and asked that they only complete the original job.

Another shady moment was when one of the guys repairing the roof started smoking green while up there. Seriously, what the...?

After two hours, they finally finished, saying the silicone needed to dry before the gutter could be tested. I believed them. Unfortunately, a few days later, when heavy rain came, both leaks were still there.

And here’s the kicker: when I went up to the roof to see how bad it was, I noticed that a section of the roof tiles had been shifted up, creating a visible gap through which water was getting into the attic. You don’t have to be a genius to realise that this was done on purpose!

I called Terry straight away and explained what I saw. I also mentioned the guy smoking on the roof. To be fair to Terry, he fired the man that same day. But that was the only proactive thing he ever did.

Five months later, I’m completely ghosted by him — still have two leaking gutters, plus internal wall and ceiling damage from the leak caused by these guys!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! — unless you want to end up with more problems than you started with.

Betrayal of trust

Despite Terry appearing charming, helpful and available until being paid in full, things took an unfortunate turn when we discovered the top 1 metre section of our roof had been left undone.
The job was to replace the old wooden latts and install a new membrane. It appears they just ran out of material and pretended the job was complete.
Having discovered this and pointed it out, Terry assured us that his crew would return to resolve the issue.
After numerous failures to turn up, I now suspect that Jesus will return before Terry.
Such a disappointing experience and a betrayal of trust.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Home Improvement Dublin was nothing short of a nightmare. From the initial consultation to the "completion" of the job, it was a masterclass in incompetence and unprofessionalism.

Terry himself was charming enough during the quote, promising a quick and efficient repair of my leaking roof. The price seemed reasonable, so I, unfortunately, gave them the go-ahead. That's where the problems began.

Firstly, the crew showed up late every single day, often leaving early without explanation. Communication was non-existent. I had to constantly chase Terry for updates, only to be met with vague excuses and broken promises. The work itself was shoddy at best. They left debris scattered all over my yard, and I even found old nails in my driveway, posing a risk to my tires.

But the real kicker? The leak is still there, and now it's worse! It's clear they either didn't fix the original problem or created new ones. When I tried to contact Terry about it, he became evasive and eventually stopped returning my calls altogether. It's been weeks, and I'm left with a damaged roof and the prospect of hiring another company to fix their mess.

Save yourself the headache, the money, and the frustration. Do NOT hire Home Improvement Dublin. You'll regret it.

It was A 48-hour job and 2 months later the job is not done.
First, they mentioned that it was going to be more expensive (I agreed to pay, and I did) Then they touched some pipes in my attic and left watermarks on the 2 floors of my house (of course they didn't paint/fix that) today I'm still asking for the invoice /receipt for what I paid, and they are still not sending me that....
