As a qualified teacher my experience was appalling. The interview was quick with Jane but the director Carolyn's approach was shocking to me in this day and age. Interview happened on the 28/11/23 then I provided all my documents. Why was the service appalling? Because I have the highest level of DBS ( I work with special needs children and young adults) but Carolyn wanted an 'exclusive tutor' check. Yes, narrow mindedness or just old age. She is 71 years old, bless her. And she also applied for a new DBS check without my consent which is illegal. I immediately stopped all the process with homeschool tutoring and had already taken up a new role where the headteacher had no problem checking my DBS on the update system or any other school I worked as a supply before. My review is a red flagging really and not a feedback. Just do not waste your time if you haven't got any to waste. I am talking about West Berkshire and Oxfordshire branch.

The Tutor provided by home school tutoring was really supportive and adapted the learning needs to my daughter's requirements. Gordon is very dedicated tutor and excellent chemistry teacher.

I would like to thank Home School Tutoring and in particular recommend our tutor David for excellent tuition over the last 2 years leading up to GCSE maths this month. Not only did our daughters maths improve technically but more importantly she gained confidence and a 'can do' ability to tackle maths problems and exams . Many thanks.

My son was tutored by Esther in Spanish and Tracey in English for his international GCSE exams in 2023. Both are excellent tutors and made a real difference to my son's learning. I expect this will be reflected in the grades he achieves! I chose Home School Tutoring Cornwall as they find the tutors and ensure there is a good match, do all the necessary checks and vet the tutors, and the administration for paying and organising the sessions is easy. David was our daughters tutor for approx 6 months. He is very calm, patient and has a great encouraging manner. He conducted her sessions mainly through zoom, which I have to say worried me, as my daughter has a limited attention span and was concerned how long she would stay engaged. I had absolutely nothing to worry about! David's teaching style and the way he engages is amazing. I've never seen my daughter this excited about maths, particularly fractions! David checks understanding all the way through and at the end of each lesson she couldn't wait to show us what she had learnt. He taught her strategies that she used for her entrance exams into senior school and for her SATs, which gave her real confidence. We've stopped lessons for the summer, but will definitely use this service again.

HST - Cornwall has been great to boosting my daughter's maths knowledge after a shaky time after Covid disruption. Yvette and our tutor, David, have always been super helpful and responsive!

Emily at Home-School Tutoring Cornwall was extremely efficient and organised, both in finding my daughter a lovely French GCSE tutor and prompting us when to get registered for the exam etc. She found Katie who was fantastic, very conscientious, with a lovely friendly manner. I was told about HST uk, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by a friend referal. I needed some extra tuition for my son for his GCSE ENGLISH. I emailed initially and was really pleased with all the correspondence being very quick and they found a great tutor for my son via zoom which we wanted. He was thrilled with his GCSE result as needed to obtain a 6 to go forward to his A Levels and English not being one of his strongest subjects. Can not thank you enough and the tutor that you set us up with. Was all very smooth running and no stress at all. Thank you. Will definitely be using again for my younger son for next year when the GCSE’s hit again!

We began looking for a tutor when our daughter was not quite achieving the grades she was after in her English Literature GCSE mocks, despite working really hard. She was losing confidence and became quite worried about the exams this summer. She had been predicted a 6 in GCSE but didn’t know how to improve on this. Booking a tutor with Emily was easy and efficient. We were soon put in contact with David, who has been virtually tutoring our daughter weekly. Through these sessions we have noticed that she is now able to talk in detail about the texts, is using higher level language and her essay technique has greatly improved but she is also enjoying the texts. Her results in mocks have also improved massively as has her confidence. We never thought we would be looking for a tutor but it has really given her the confidence boost she needed before taking exams. We would definitely look at tutoring again through Emily for both our daughters if they felt they needed it. Thank you David and Emily.

I approached Emily at HST as I needed to resit my Maths and English GCSE in November 2021. Being an adult learner returning to study, with a business and a very young family, I was a bit apprehensive. The tutors that Emily arranged, Dave and Ian, were extremely encouraging and helped me work on the areas I needed to focus on most. I did weekly tutoring with them both and within 3 months sat my exams, achieving higher grades than I needed. Couldn’t have done this without the help of Emily, Ian and Dave. Thank you!

We used Home School Tutoring UK to help our daughter who we had to pull out of school in Sept of year 11 due to bullying. The two Davids and Gabriella helped her to go from failing Maths, English, Science Trilogy and History to getting passes in all subjects. They were very patient, kind and professional and not only pushed her to get the grades she deserved but also helped her to improve her confidence and self-belief. Emily and the tutors also helped us to submit her work as an external candidate and really went above and beyond to make sure she did the best she possibly could. I can't recommend them highly enough. She is now going on to her chosen college to do the level of course above the level she was aiming for with confidence excitement and ambition.

I have used Home School Tutoring and specifically Tamsin to tutor both my daughters for their 11+ exams. Tamsin has been amazing she is so thoughtful and caring and has worked hard at making sure the girls were as prepared for their exams as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend them if you are considering tutoring for any reason. They are really excellent.

It was a mind field trying to find good tutors until I came across Emily at Home School Tutoring. Emily was quick and found exactly the tutors that my daughter needed. Fab English Language tutoring at GCSE level that improved a mock grade by 3 levels by the summer exams!

I've been receiving support from Home School Tutoring in Cornwall since 2017.
My daughter had a tutor to learn the language when we arrived to the country. Later she received support to pass her GCSEs in Maths and English. Currently she has a tutor to support her B-Tec in Applied Science.
Also they have helped my stepson with writing, reading and spelling, and helped us to discover he is dyslexic, which his school failed to detect.
All this support was done with different tutors, all of them excellent teachers and humans.
I value their services and I think it was key to us adapting better in England. Forever grateful.
