After pulling out of a sale for unforeseen circumstances HRD refused to release the lifetime legal I.D check report which we had paid £80 for, totally unreasonable and I will not be using them again .

The branch staff were excellent, helpful, polite, great to deal with.
As soon as it moved to online and Portals it became hard work and a tedious tick box exercise. Also lacking in the personal touch.
If the service had remained in branch it would be 5 stars all the way.

My wife and I had dealings with a number of the Island's agents, over the two years it took to buy a house here. They varied dramatically and one in particular disappointed us and left us feeling disillusioned with them.
We viewed many properties and found we had to dig deeper on many of them, to discover their true worth.
There has been a 'feeding frenzy' in the island's property market for many months, and this has, I feel, affected the attitudes of some agents here.
However, we gained much experience of Hose Rhodes-dickson at Ventnor during our searches, having shown interest in three properties over a period of many months.
We could have been viewed as 'difficult buyers' by them, as we had very specific goals, did not at the time live on the island and examined each property very carefully using every method at our disposal.
Finally, we found our ideal home, Steve Martin supported our enquiries and final purchase in a very professional manner. He was, I felt, the most balanced agent we encountered, acting with no bias towards buyer or seller.
A special mention goes to Jackie in the Ventnor office, who was helpful, friendly and diligent at every step.
I would recommend the Ventnor office to anyone looking for property in the South East Wight area.

We purchased a flat through HRD in Ventnor and could not recommend them highly enough. The team went out of their way to help us as unfortunatley our solicitors were very poor so Jackie & Emily went above and beyond and we can't thank them enough. Even after purchasing the flat, knowing it's a second home, they have offered to take keys if we had any builders going in if we're not there at the time. It was a cash sale and no chain and took a while but they were always on hand for questions and to push things along. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again for sale or purchase.
