it works! been my reseller provider for more than a decade! all the best Gators!
Good (not great) webhosting and reseller program but ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SUPPORT! Ive been doing this for 20 yearws and have had a shared hosting reseller account for most of that time. When ever I need help I cringe at the thought of contacting them. Tier 1 support knows absolutely nothing and are frustratingly terrible. Tier 2 could take WEEKS to get back to you.
Support matters, and you wont get any here.
I recently ran into some email sending issues in my reseller account. Such an issue is quite difficult to trouble shoot due to the many possible scenarios. Jericho M was able to help identify the cause and explain to me the reason for it and how to avoid future occurences in one single transaction.
I have been a reseller hosting customer for over 17 years (since 2005). The customer service has been going down badly. In the last few years, it has gone to an absolutely ridiculous customer service level.
I ended up requesting to cancel the monthly package. The agent confirmed the last service day is the 20th of May so I can backup accounts (3 different agents confirmed). But they still cancel on the same day (16th May) with no access to the server and no chance of backups. I am still waiting for backups.
On top of that, they charge my debit card for the next month as well despite canceling the service already.
I will 100% suggest avoiding this company going forward now.
I've been a reseller client since 2006. The customer service used to be outstanding, but it's nearly non-existent now—and it's quite sad. Had a very rough patch in pre-pandemic 2020 and now again. Currently going on ten (10) days that NONE of my hosting clients can send any outgoing emails and zero response from HostGator despite contacting their "so-called" technical support by chat and phone. The current trouble ticket is now 72 hours in with zero response, despite being promised that "a level 3 administrator will be reaching out shortly."
I definitely can't recommend HostGator as a host any longer—especially if you're reselling hosting and have clients that expect you to have answers for them. It's a complete joke at this point. Avoid this host!
I was absolutely amazed with the service received from CHamiksha, who is a Chat tech support representative for HostGator.
My representative was very professional, personable with a friendly manner, knowledgeable, and very empathic to the issues I was having.
I was unable to access information to one of my accounts which was needed to create a second reseller account so that I could have all my files migrated so not to lose any data. Chamiksha, also provided information and tips to help me keep my Reseller accounts active without incurring new costs!
I was surprised with the service and literally was amazed at everything she helped me with! I intend to keep my businesses with HostGator for a long time to come!
Thank you CHamiksha and HostGator, You were EXCELLENT!
I recently switched hosting providers and decided to use HostGator based on recommendations and reviews I read. I have a reseller account and their tech support has been very helpful when I've encountered issues with migrating websites. I my interactions with them I've found their support team to be willing to help, professional and friendly. In most cases, they have gone beyond what I expected to resolve my issues. So far, I've been very pleased with my decision to leave my old hosting provider for HostGator.
Been with HG as a reseller for over 15 years now. Always have had any issues resolved promptly, even though the issues usually are my fault. I have no desire to go with any other hosting company.
I have been a reseller customer for 16 years. Sadly in the last few months they have gone down the hill with slow servers, infected with adware all my sites eating up my bandwidth not only for my site but ALL accounts under my reseller. This has greatly affected my business and despite I have tried everything they have done nothing to help or fix anything. Now when I try to connect they say my IP is banned I pay them 50 usd each month to be banned and ignored if I use a VPN.. -- HORRIBLEE - I AM MOVING - BEWARE WITH WORSTGATOR!!
They Increase renewal rates very high and their chat support is useless and time waste always.
Reseller Silver hosting is available online on their site for $59.95 but in my account billing, they are charging me $69.95 not only that they are not offering me annual or multiple years now.
My hosting server is getting 502 bad servers also these days very frequently. Avoid these Cheats
I have tried their chat support multiple times and never ever NEVER EVER got any solutions. There are a bunch of useless, slackers and low life, who do not work.
Screw them and avoid this company.
On Jan 29th 2023 I signed up for a HostGator Silver Reseller Account for $29.95 with the assurance from their website that I had a 30 day money back guarantee.
Taken directly from their website at
30-day guarantee
If you're not happy, we'll refund your hosting fees in the first 30 days.
On Feb 1st 2023 I decided I didn’t like the convoluted backend and lack of tech support services so I submitted a ticket and cancelled service. I then asked for a refund. I was told according to their terms and conditions they did not give refunds for monthly accounts. So, I advised them of their own words on their own website and they said sorry, they don’t go by the website, they go by the terms and conditions.
I have disputed the charges with my credit card company and filed a BBB report against them. Thank God I found out what kind of a fraud hosting company they are before I tied any of my clients to them. Beware!
Here is their full money back guarantee from their website, you will notice it says nothing about monthly, annual or anything else.
Money-Back Guarantee
Customer Satisfaction is HostGator's #1 Priority!
If you’re not satisfied with HostGator, we'll give you your money back. No questions asked. During the first 30 calendar days, we'll refund your hosting fees in full.
Please note: The Money-Back Guarantee only applies to basic hosting services and does not apply to domain registration fees, set up fees or any other fees for additional services purchased at the time of your basic hosting package.
HostGator does not offer refunds for cancellations that occur after 30 calendar days.
What happens to your domain?
If you register a domain through HostGator, please note there is a non-refundable USD $15.00 domain fee. You'll be free to transfer it or simply point it elsewhere. Newly registered domains cannot be transferred to another registrar during the first 60 days of the registration period. Unless you renew your domain, you retain ownership of it until the end of its registration period.
Our support staff is available 24/7 to assist you via telephone or Live Chat with any hosting-related questions.
They say you get what you pay for... so my advice is spend a few extra dollars and go elsewhere. Everyone at Hostgator support is very polite, but ultimately useless. I paid for a 3 year hatchling plan to transfer my full webhosting and domain. At first everything went ok, but then I was told because I had a .ca domain I had to go through a 3rd party reseller account that they would set up for free. After trying 3 separate times and speaking to 6 different people at Hostgator... 3 months later I am no further ahead. Then when I asked for a refund it took them 2 weeks to respond that I needed to send that request to a different company withing Hostgator... with no email for customer support. Only a helpline by phone and the online chat bot. I called the helpline and it was almost a 2 hour wait. all lame
I have been with them since 2011.They were really good for reseller hosting. When It was outsourced to India, that’s when i saw the fast decline in honesty and timely service. If i needed help with 1 request, it took live help close to an hour to complete it. Coming from an IT background, I know how long tasks would take.
22nd Dec 22, I realised I was frozen out of the cPanel/WHM panel. I approached live help, I didn’t tell them i was frozen out. I wanted to see what they would do or say.
2 HG staff took their time, i asked why can’t i do anything on the backend, they responded, you have exceeded the disk space, you have to delete items.
I used to be able to see disk usage for all the domains now, I can’t see that. The staff took such a long time, with no response. I exited and gave a 1 star rating.
I tried again, this time, an English HG staff appeared on live help but remember all this can be faked, Mary could be Shiva/Ram responding as Mary.
Finally, I said, I’m from an IT background, I know when i am frozen out of the system by the “super, super admin. How is it possible, I can’t downgrade/upgrade a domain, i can’t delete a package. I can’t change the quota. I can’t add a new customer/domain. This is freezing. HG staff say I’ve exceeded the space, I manually counted how much space i’ve allocated, how much space i’ve used, i have 60gb, I’ve only used 37500mb.”
She responded, “please send screenshots”. Trying to make it seem she is helping but all she had to do was login to my whm and she would see the issue, it would be written down in notes, customer notes as well so anyone who is handling the case, would be able to know. She wanted me to send her the domain, so she could add it. Why can’t i add the domain by myself?
If i have more customers, that means I have to keep going through live help to add new domains?!
Close to the end, (another hour passed), she said, “ please check in 2 hours.” I told her to inform HG, I have recorded everything and I will be posting on social media.
IMMEDIATELY, not even 2 hours, they unfroze my account. You can’t fool an IT person, I know it’s just a click, I know how long it takes to do things.
DIRTY PRACTICES to try and cheat customers into upgrading their package.
Endurance International Group Owns HostGator (HG) and many, many more hosting services, re-branded.
Be careful everyone. Today, I’ll finish up the video and it will be on YouTube exposing HG corruption and their staff.
Updated:
This review was deleted and hostgator, played dirty again and I’m frozen out of my cPanel.

After my author website was down with "Error establishing a database connection" for somewhere between 5-8 weeks, I finally got a hold of a representative that was able to help. With previous calls reps said they couldn't help and blamed it on Wordpress, etc. One rep even disconnected the call when it was clear he had no idea how to help and didn't bother calling back although my number is displayed during the call (confirmed that with another rep).
Thank goodness I eventually got a veteran rep who discovered it was actually Hostgator putting limits on my database!! She fixed it and my site was back up within minutes.
In the meantime, I had author events and had to explain to potential customers that my site was having difficulties. I lost book sales because of this!
I've been a HG customer for 20 years on their promise that sites stay up. But I'll be taking my reseller account and multiple domains to another host as soon as I can. So disappointed in what Hostgator has devolved into.
I did give the rep who helped 5 stars in the survey after the call, but here I give the company 1 star. It's sad, but HG has nowhere near the level of customer service it used to.

Can't wait to switch. I have had constant issues with my Reseller Plan. With all my clients sites dropping EVERYDAY. Multiple tickets, upgrading service, did not fix the issue. Over a year with this problem. We decided to migrate to a new server. It took 2 weeks. 2 weeks! Tier 2 tech support just went rogue on me, and now my clients are getting billed twice. The kicker? Front line agents don't know the difference between WHM and WHMCS. I had to start recording my phone conversations because it was blowing my mind how hard it was to get someone to listen and understand. 6-8 weeks for a refund? Are you kidding? 5-10 days I can grasp. But 6-8 weeks is just ridiculous. And it leads me to believe that refund won't happen.

After 5 days contacing support to resolve an SSL issue with one of my clients account, their still telling me to keep waiting.
If you are a reseller go away from hostgator!

Horrible, Horrible, they completely undid 15 years of good dependable service. It took over a month to fix the problem and I am not sure if they fixed or if we did.
Noticed on July 8th that emails people said they had send were not arriving. Host Gator (HG) said they had done a data center conversion that was causing the problem. Many times I called and they said they fixed but it still wasn't working. I had to go to c panel to read my emails. The mail services they offer to look at were horrible and would not always forward an email or send replies. On top of that I was traveling for 2 weeks and had to use my cell phone to read them which was next to impossible. I missed many important emails pertaining to my travels. I spent countless hours on the phone with their tech support.
Finally started working August8th
All we were trying to do was have the domains emails forward to our gmail account which allows to use an alias of our Domain on gmail. It worked for a dozen years without a hitch. Now some emails do not go to the gmail app on the while they will go to the gmail on my notebook. It send 56000+ emails from host gator to my gmail when it started working. It shut my webpage down because it exceeded the bandwidth for our service.
Then they had the gall to send us an ad for them offering workspace for gmail which is what we were doing all along! We have a reseller account and will drop it as soon as everything returns to normal. Why pay them to pay gmail when we can do it ourselves for far less.

Stay away. A previously good service; Recent email issues, unresponsive support channels when you need them the most and the lack of any compensation given for a month long problem, makes me want to tell everyone to NOT get onboard Hostgator. Maybe something will change after the fact, but I won't be here to see it. Moving my reseller account away myself as soon as it's convenient.

Very bad services for reseller pack. We are suffering because we Pais for 3 years in advance and no return.
