Great Experience

I have just returned from a stay .. the check in was friendly and efficient, we arrived at 11am with an anticipated check in of 3pm but we asked if we could leave our bags and were told our rooms were ready so we could leave in our rooms! The rooms were spacious and clean, plenty if towels and toiletries! And we were advised to “help ourselves” to the complimentary snacks and drinks n the mini bar (very nice touch) .. had a wonderful, but tiring shopping experience in the Trafford Centre that was a short car journey away .. on returning to the hotel we went into the hotel Cafe, the staff were welcoming and efficient. We decided to eat there and were not disappointed with the food which was freshly cooked and hot. Again the staff were efficient and extremely friendly.

My niece is studying at Manchester Uni and my sister in law has stayed in Manchester before but not at Hotel Football but on yesterday’s experience she will be returning when next staying over in Manchester!

Great hotel, great staff

Short notice unapologetic cancellation with no offer of resolution

Today I was called 2 hours prior to check in and told that my booking would have to be cancelled as my room was unfortunately unable to be prepared due to a staffing issue at the cleaning agency, now with such short notice and being as I was over 5hrs away from home I explained this to be massively inconvenient and whilst I understand this is far from ideal for either party and appreciated that the person I was particularly speaking with is not at fault themselves and had at least taken the time to call, this was still not a great service or in the realm of acceptable timing, I politely asked what the remedy would be, I was rather rudely informed there was not one! there is no sister hotel nor alternative room that could be provided as per my suggestions and frankly and I do feel i correctly interpreted this to be a ME problem and this was in fact a courtesy call informing me that "these things happen, nothing can be done" ... now with the tone now changing from the team member as he became audibly exacerbated with having to deal with my issue of not particularly liking the news nor manner in which it was communicated, again I expressed my disappointment in the situation and his flippant response of I can send a link to hotels in the area and request your refund through booking.com (no feces Mr holmes) I explained it is not necessary about the refund I didn't care for his dismissive attitude towards me having to reorganise my plans and i would expect some form of compensation or offer to prove this to be more than an acknowledgement of terrible planning organisation and want for resolution, he explained in a snigger and I quote
"You are one of six people this has affected. There will be no compensation as this is not out of the ordinary and is a common thing to happen" now this being the third time I had to endure the agents lack of empathy and contemptuous disparagement for the situation that had I given the same warning of cancellation I would be financially penalised with a non refund, I believe this was met with an appropriate expletive and termination of the paradoxical conversation...

Now, I am genuinely a realistic person and generally charitable about a issue or unavoidable crisis that can not be helped, (if this is in fact the truth if the matter) so had this been communicated in a way that that was at all apologetic, considerate or sympathetic to my perspective I would more than likely feel inclined to let bygone be bygones, that being said as this was not the case the albeit spiteful champion of the people has been awoken and I authentically and malevolently wish nothing but misfortune on the hotel and cynically prefer others to not experience the "not out of the ordinary common occurrence" and suggest you play safe elsewhere and don't risk it! As this has not happened before to me elsewhere in or outside the city.

I'll be honest, I don't like football - but loved this hotel.

I'll be honest, I really have zero interest in football. So was not looking forward to staying here, but was the closest to where I needed to be.

But I can say everything about it was great. Fantastic friendly staff, perfect rooms, and some nice little touches.

And not one fat Neanderthalic man idolizing other men who don't know they exist. No one man shouting at a TV screen as is if makes any difference. No men crying because a ball didn't go where they wanted! So thankfully none of that at all.

Swift check-in and check-out, served quickly and again I'd like to say the staff were fantastic (if the management read this, well done on the training and selection!)

Stayed here with my son for the England v North Macedonia game. Expensive but absolutely fantastic and great experience. All the staff we encountered we friendly, polite and professional. No complaints and the free gifts and free mini fridge contents were an added bonus. Will definitely visit again and thank you for a wonderful experience. David Lowry
