I was looking for a hotel near the Vatican and the museum and found some other great reviews about Hotel Metropolis. I booked it and when I arrived last month for my week-long stay I was very pleased. It was such a short walk from St. Peter's and the Vatican, which was very convenient. It was also just a block away from a subway stop, so getting around the city (to the train station, the Colosseum, etc) was very quick. I loved the neighborhood--Prati--and all of the restaurants we tried there. The hotel itself was very modern--I liked the calming colors in our room, as well as the sleek furniture. The in-room hot tub was definitely worth the extra splurge. The service was good and the breakfast consisted of a nice spread of cheeses, pastries, etc. Kind of typical European breakfast fare, but it was good! I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Metropolis!
