I originally bought this dress but had to return it because the zipper was stitched far too long, creating a big bump , something completely unacceptable for this price point.

I reordered the dress after the website showed it was in stock with a delivery time of about 4 days. Based on that, I expected it to arrive before my birthday. Instead, I was told after ordering that it actually wasn’t in stock at all. My order status said “in transit”, but that turned out to be incorrect too.

It’s now been over a week, and I still have no clear update on when I’ll receive the dress. Every customer service agent gives a different explanation, and the communication has been confusing and inconsistent from the start.

For a brand in this price range, I expected much better quality, honesty, and professionalism. Instead, this whole experience has been stressful and extremely disappointing

Oxford Street Store and Online

Good: When I went to the second floor of Oxford Street to return my dress, the person in charge was very efficient she took the note and finish the process immediately. All done in 5 minutes. It’s actually quiet and peaceful on weekday morning so I highly recommend going shopping during that time and no queue at dressing room. Wishing the business the best!!Looking forward to more spring dresses next year! No floral dupes can replace HoCB, the goat in patterns!!
Nasty: Dress was covered with mould and HUGE size difference from chart so unable to wear. The fabric is so tiny and the zipper is stuck while testing in a box. And online customer service refuse refunding money back to my bank account. only do store credit (gift card). I was very busy with my personal life when this happened so no time to sue them. And this is against UK law to refuse refund in this condition, and customers in and out of UK are suffering from this when buying from their official website. So if you really want to buy their dress, do it from a platform like Selfridge or something equivalent in your country so you can return or consult efficiently. And pay with a credit card instead of debit card so there is a way to dispute with fair judgement from a third party. (bank or affiliated firm). The illegal practices are really a stain on such beautiful floral designs. Also, cotton rich label doesn't mean it is rich in cotton. I gave you one star in the end because we have an online community discussing your business practice which still sees no improvement. If you did improve I will give you two stars.

Great product, meh customer service

This is one of my favorite brands for dresses, the fabric quality is always flawless, the shipping is fast and the dresses look gorgeous on. I like the options of bigger bust size (though alas, I don't need it) and 5 cm longer hemline for mini dresses (this one i use). The black friday and summer discounts are well made.
Now that being said, I have a few issues with this brand:
1. For the love of God, make an EU filial or at least adjust the prices by reducing them by a margin and include the custom tax. You would get a lot more customers from Europe who otherwise are browsing the pre owned clothes apps for hcb dresses located in the EU.
2. Fix the size chart or at least remove the return shipment costs. I have had to return/sell XS dresses that were too small for me, even though I already own XS dresses that fit me, because house of cb uses the same sizing chart for all their products, even though the tailoring varies from dress to dress. These dresses are already expensive. They are available in the EU only with custom tax. In addition to that, sizing is a lottery and if the dress doesn't fit, you'll have to pay for the return yourself. This is a deterrent even for already established customers, and probably accounts for most of the bad ratings on here, which is a shame, because the quality of the product is undeniable. But it's the kind of shopping experience that, unless you really really love the brand, makes you say never again.
Pls improve customer experience for international orders, you've got good stuff here.

Last minute dress, fantastic customer service!

I went into the London store to buy a dress for a gala event! Amarta kindly helped me select up to 5 dresses and the girls in the changing rooms where very helpful and accommodating with doing up zips, corsets and even providing heels to try the dresses on with.
Griselda on the tills was also very friendly and positive and supported me purchasing my burgundy Persephone dress which had a few defects on but nothing too major.
Thank you again to the girls in this store!

Great Customer Care

The Customer Care was great. I bought the first dress in the wrong size, so I needed to return it. Turns out something went wrong with the delivery company. While contacting House of CB for the problem they responded fast and clear. And I got the new dress just in time for the birthday of my girlfriend

The dress itself (Mademoiselle
black tulle midi dress, size XS and S, Regular Cup) was great. XS was just too small but the quality was really great. Same goes for size S, the dress itself is great and fits really well around the body of my girl.

Especially with the good Customer Care I recommend at least try this company if you want to spoil yourself or your girl a little :)

Great First Experience, Disappointing Second One

My first experience with them was great, but my second one was honestly terrible. It started right at the ordering stage. I paid, everything went through, and I received a confirmation email. After three days with no shipping update, I reached out to them. They told me, “Sorry, we had a system glitch,” which felt very dismissive(but fine, whatever)

When the dress arrived, part of the stitching was missing(about 2 cm)so I contacted them again, explained the issue, and asked for a credit so I could get it repaired. I even sent photos. They offered me 10% back, which I accepted because I was already planning to buy another dress (I may be a little obsessed with their designs).
Then they emailed me again saying I would only be reimbursed after I repaired the dress and provided the bill. At that point, I said I’d rather just return the dress. They replied that they weren’t sure if they could refund me because their inspection team would need to assess it first. I was completely fine with that process, but the tone they used was dismissive and rude.
Even though I genuinely love their dresses, this experience with customer service really disappointed me. Now I’m unsure whether I should order from them again or just leave it at this. Maybe a third order would help me decide, but right now I’m pretty put off by how my case was handled.

If I could give this company a negative…

If I could give this company a negative rating I would. I ordered a dress, it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t received it. I have contacted customer service and they keep saying it’s in the warehouse and will be dispatched to me soon. I picked 2-3 days delivery and I’m still here waiting. Ridiculous! If there’s an agreed on delivery frame it should be honored. I expect a full refund of my money

BEWARE!!!!

BEWARE!!!!! You might get landed with a faulty item and be stuck paying for it?!?!

I have been a loyal House of CB customer for years and even post their pieces on my social media as a content creator. This experience has genuinely shocked me.

I received a dress with a large tear in the front straight out of the package. I opened a ticket immediately, sent photos showing the defect on arrival, and returned it exactly as instructed with all tags and ribbon attached. Despite that, I was told the item showed signs of “soil and wear” and showed “no manufacturing issues” - which is simply untrue?! They also said the tags were not on properly.

To make it even more confusing, I reordered the same dress right away because I liked it and needed one that was actually wearable. If the first one had been fine, I would not have purchased a second.

They are now sending the original defective dress back to me. When it arrives, I fully expect the tear to still be there, which will only confirm it was faulty on arrival and that their refusal was unjustified. If the tags are not on it then it was obviously tampered with.

This experience has COMPLETELY undermined my trust in their quality control and customer service. I will also never post or tag the on my socials ever again. I hope they address this, but for now I want others to be aware. You are at risk of losing your money if they decide they don’t want to refund something that is their fault… best to take your money elsewhere.

Dissapointing on three fronts

House of CB was disappointing on three fronts: product quality, customer service, and respecting basic consumer rights.

1. Quality:
I ordered two corsets and the quality was shockingly bad. The materials felt cheap and the sizing was completely off. For the price point, this was nowhere near acceptable.

2. Returns:
Before placing my order, I checked their website to confirm there was a Spanish return address, since I live in Spain. The website confirmed there was. Based on that information, I felt comfortable ordering.

Well… they apparently no longer have a Spanish return depot — but they never updated their website and offered absolutely no solution when I contacted them. Suddenly, I was told to return the items to the UK, pay taxes, and cover hefty return fees.

If I had known there was no EU return option, I would never have ordered in the first place. I relied on the information they provided, but it seems they can change it at any moment without taking responsibility.

Today, Nov 20th 2025, approx 1 month after my purchase, the same information is still on the website. So any EU customers are still being misled. I work in e-commerce, and it takes max 10 min to change this. Text from website: 'We have return depots located in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and Spain for super easy returns. You can easily find the return address included in your order.'

3. Customer service:
When I reached out, customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. No acknowledgment that the website was misleading. No alternative offered. No goodwill gesture. Nothing.

Overall, a very disappointing experience — poor products, misleading information, and zero accountability. I would not recommend ordering from them, especially if you’re based in the EU.

I would give no stars if i could

I wish I had checked the reviews before ordering from House of CB.

I genuinely regret ordering from House of CB. I received a dress that was clearly faulty (one cup noticeably larger than the other), yet instead of offering any real help, their customer service has been slow, dismissive, and completely inconsistent.

Their website states that online purchases can be returned in-store, but once I reported a defective item, suddenly I was told that faulty items “cannot” be returned in-store and must be mailed back to a warehouse for “inspection,” which adds weeks of unnecessary delays. This is completely contradictory to what they advertise and incredibly frustrating.

What’s even worse is the lack of clear information. I have asked several times for a straightforward answer about how long the exchange will take and whether I will be able to return the replacement if it doesn’t fit
, and I still cannot get a direct response. Every reply feels vague, scripted, and avoids the actual questions I’m asking.

Their communication is slow, unclear, and feels like they’re reading from a script rather than helping with the actual issue. The entire process is inconvenient, stressful, and far below the standards you’d expect from a brand that charges premium prices.

Beautiful marketing, terrible service.
I’ll think 100 times before ever ordering from them again.

Fantastic staff at the Oxford street

Fantastic staff at the Oxford street store especially, Misha, Shelby and Reanna.

They helped me out to find a dress really short notice and made a stressful day slightly easier.

Customer service can be a nightmare but they were a credit both to themselves and the company and I hope they are rewarded for their efforts.

Absolute joke of a company.

BEWARE

First of all, the dress looked nothing like it did on the website - the fabric felt stiff, cheap, and completely different from what was advertised.

Secondly, their customer service is a nightmare. It feels entirely automated, with responses that don’t address anything you actually write. It’s like talking to robots who use Chat GPT.

My return was sent to SPAIN at my own cost since they don't provide shipping labels, but it couldn’t be delivered due to a "wrong address" (I copy pasted the one they provide and double-checked with the customer service; it was supposedly the correct one). Only afterward did they provide me with a vague local contact and a Spanish number - which was useless, since you can’t add contacts after a shipment is already sent, and also fake. I tried calling it.

Now my parcel is stuck in limbo. No one on their end is willing to investigate, offer a proper refund to me, or provide any real help. Every reply contradicts the last one, tells me to do things I have already done, and it's driving me insane.

I just read another review stating the same problem about the Spanish return location, and I can't believe they can get away with this?

Never again.

Shocking Service!

Shocking Service!
I ordered a beautiful dress in a size 10, but what I received is clearly a size 8 — it doesn’t fit at all. I also paid extra for an additional 5 cm of length because I didn’t want the dress to be too short, yet it’s so short it almost shows my underwear. I’ve contacted the company five times and haven’t received a single reply. Absolutely terrible website and customer service — I would not recommend ordering from them!

Terrible sizing and customer service

I found a dress in their sale. I heard about their terrible sizing online, so I played it safe, measured myself as per their size guide, contacted their customer service to check measurements, and still went for the bigger size. It arrived and was absolutely not as advertised. I tried it on, the clasp broke within minutes, and the top half of the dress was terribly proportioned (despite getting the larger D+ cup). I returned the item in store and despite the clear issues with the dress, the right to cancel an order within 14 days of receipt of goods online, receiving a faulty item that was not as advertised, they have refused to provide me with a cash refund. Instead, they have offered store credit. Store credit, for a line of dresses that won't fit? When I brought this up to them, they advised on dresses that have 'a strong stretch factor' that a UK size 14 might fit into (their size guide online says it goes to a size 16, mind you). Despite outlining the multiple issues, they keep coming back with the same rubbish generic response. For a company that sells EXPENSIVE dresses, their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I will be reporting them.

Even if you fit into their dresses, do not buy from them. It's just not worth their TERRIBLE customer service. There's a load of house of CB dresses on vinted, go there instead.

the dresses boning broke on the night and i had to keep sticking it back in. the zipper is absolutely terrible and for such an expensive well known company, it is very poorly made. don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful dress and i got lots of compliments on it, but the make and quality was absolutely terrible. house of cb should really up their game on there design process because having to pay $450+ on dresses like that is absurd. i can no longer get any use out the dress because it is broken and lasted me less than 6 hours. the only reason why i’m not giving this a one star review is because of how beautiful the dress actually is, but it’s sad to see that i could only get one use out of it before it broke. i’d also like to commend the shipping service because it came right on time and in perfect condition. but overall i would say i’m not very impressed or pleased with the circumstances that i’ve stated previously above.
