Some of the land lords are only nice and responsive to a prospect, they switch when you cancel your application. Since I decided to cancel my application because the contract was not favorable, I Roomys still have not acknowledged my cancellation email. That is not great customer service. She has to refund my deposit and i need a definitive feedback on when.

The room and the apartment met the expectations set by the photos and the listing. There is no heating. I liked that everything was clearly explained in the rental contract, and overall Yoana responded quickly to any questions we had. The apartment is located in a very quiet and welcoming neighborhood, close to the metro station.

I booked a room through HousingAnywhere in mid-July and paid €1100 (including platform fees + first month’s rent). The landlord accepted my booking without any issues.
In mid-September, my reservation was suddenly cancelled with no explanation at all. I had to contact the landlord myself to understand what had happened. His response was simply: “The roommate in your room decided last minute to stay.”
This happened one week before my planned arrival in Dublin, leaving me without accommodation and under extreme stress.
I also filed a report against the landlord, Brian, through the platform, but nothing was done. No follow-up, no support, no accountability. Customer service was basically non-existent.
HousingAnywhere clearly protects landlords rather than tenants. They don’t allow honest reviews to be posted, and the assistance I received was useless. The 5-star reviews you see are most probably fake.
Do NOT book through HousingAnywhere.
And be extremely careful with this landlord, Brian.

This was the worst rental experience of my life. We had a serious problem with the apartment we rented, as structural works in the building began the day after check-in, which we had not been informed about. These works included the complete replacement of all the building’s windows and the installation of scaffolding to insulate the façade. The works also caused severe dampness and mold, which spread across the walls and even into my personal belongings.
When the company renting the apartment to me refused to offer any solution (either in the form of compensation or moving us to another apartment), I tried to contact HousingAnywhere. Not only did they fail to answer the phone and reply to my emails days later, but they also completely distanced themselves from the issue and said they could do nothing to help me. Frankly, I do not understand why I paid a commission that did not protect me at such a vulnerable moment. I will never rent through this platform again and strongly advise others against it.

I booked an accommodation from HousingAnywhere and got an agreement from a flatmate. There were ongoing issues at the accommodation, which the team was aware of, but they put up the listing and let the apartment accomodate by me. Afterthis there was no response and help from the team. I strongly suggest avoid this owner and flatmate agreement. I have highlighted the concern to the housing team

Do not use this site. Their landlord ratings are only by customers who didn't have to cancel, didn't get canceled by landlords, didnt ask for refunds. If they do ever refund you (they havent) they say they take a fee of 25% if you would rent for 1 month up to 50% if you would have rented for 6 months. So they will take your money for no apartment. They do not take reports seriously at all.

I've received a notification saying that if we write feedback, there’s a chance to get one month of free rent. We all think this is a scam, they want us to write a positive review, but in reality, the "one month free rent" will never happen. I paid €540 for HousingAnywhere's "Tenant Protection" when booking a 4-month rental in Lisbon. I expected a third party who would help mediate if something went wrong.
When I reported issues with the apartment within 48 hours (dirty linen that smelled of mildew), HousingAnywhere replied that they "do not mediate disputes related to the condition of the property or landlord conduct."
So what exactly does €540 buy you?
It got worse. When the situation escalated with the landlord, HousingAnywhere's account manager sent me an accusatory email siding entirely with the landlord, without ever contacting me to hear my side. She repeated false claims that I had "abandoned the property" and "refused to return keys" (I was physically in the apartment with the keys). She even mentioned that my information had been "flagged with SEF" (Portuguese immigration authorities).
At no point did anyone from HousingAnywhere call me or ask for my version of events. They amplified the landlord's threats instead of protecting the tenant.
If you're considering HousingAnywhere for their "Tenant Protection," reconsider.

My experience has been great overall. The Zymzo-Cohost team was always kind, responsive, and quick to solve every small issue that came up, and communication with them was very easygoing and cordial. The photos and all the information provided about the property fully matched reality, and I can honestly say that my experience was even better than expected.
As a constructive comment, there were a few small details—easily resolved after contacting the staff—that were not fully explicit in the contract. Making these points clearer from the beginning could help avoid potential misunderstandings or grey areas in the future.
Overall, my experience has been excellent, and I would be very happy to stay here again in the future.

I would like to clarify something regarding the rent and check-in date.
I have already paid the full rent for January, even though I did not stay in the room at all during this month. My booking starts from the 21st, and the payment was completed on the 25th.
Even if the delay in payment is considered, I don’t understand why I would need to wait until the 29th to receive the keys, especially since I will then be required to pay the full rent for February shortly after.
This means I am paying for January without staying, waiting several days after payment to check in, and then paying February in full almost immediately.
Could you please clarify this and let me know if there is any possibility

Best platform I found to fast easily book appointments from abroad.
Positives:
- Very fast and easy way to book an aprtment from abroad.
- Clear instruction and excellent response time
Few issues though:
- Change of contract start date from 16th to 1st, so I had to pay full moths rent
- No key to my room (only apartment)
- Mold in apartment

I rented an apartment through the HousingAnywhere platform and it was a complete nightmare. The apartment did not match the video at all. When I arrived, the place was filthy, the heater did not warm the bedroom, the walls were covered with black mold, and the hot water did not heat up.
I immediately contacted the landlord, but instead of coming to the apartment to fix the problems, she kept sending messages saying I should wait a long time for the water to heat up. I followed all the procedures and even went out to buy cleaning products because the apartment was uninhabitable. Exhausted after a long trip, I cleaned the apartment myself, and still the water never got hot.
Within the timeframe stated in HousingAnywhere’s rules, I canceled the stay. However, the platform deceives people. They only respond after up to 5 business days, and there were no conditions to sleep in that place, especially renting in Turin during winter. I had to spend more money to find another decent and habitable place to sleep.
I recorded videos and provided all the evidence within the required deadline. They did not refund my money. HousingAnywhere misleads people acting in good faith and always sides with landlords. This is a scam.
