My experience using Hoxx VPN in China
My experience using Hoxx VPN in China: The VPN does work, at first, but it constantly disconnects. The disconnections are random, sometimes it could work for 2hrs before disconnecting, other times it could disconnect 5 times within 20 minutes. On average it seems like it disconnects at least once every 30 minutes. Also often when it disconnects it messes up my internet and I have to restart my laptop before I can get my internet to connect again. One of the most irritating things is after a disconnection it often takes a long time to connect again. Sometimes I can reconnect after about 5 minutes but I've spent 30 minutes trying to reconnect before and on a couple of occasions I even spent so long that I gave up trying to reconnect, said ok no internet for me tonight maybe it'll work tomorrow, and just went to sleep. I asked the customer support for help. At first I got a general message asking me to delete and reinstall hoxx vpn and make sure I'm using the latest version. I did so and told them I've done that and it's still the same. Then I didn't hear anything for a few days. Then another person messaged me saying "If you are using torrent in the background, please stop it, it will cause these interuptions, we do not allow torrenting." I replied that I am not torrenting. I didn't hear back for about a week and in the meantime I sent pictures of Hoxx vpn failing to connect, disconnecting, saying "reconfiguring" etc. I didn't get any responses and I said is there any solution or will I have to use a different VPN? Ok I am having to try a different VPN because it's not working and I'm getting no response. Eventually I got a response saying they have refunded me and cancelled my premium service and I can try it again in the future. Well I never asked them to cancel it but ok it seems like they didn't have a solution so they decided to cancel my membership.
In conclusion Hoxx VPN will work for you if you don't need a constant and reliable connection. If you just need to connect sometimes to check an email or a website from time to time and you don't mind getting suddenly disconnected, then it's ok. If you want to do something like video call, voice call, play an online game, watch videos without interruptions, then hoxx VPN isn't a good choice because the connection will suddenly drop at any moment and what's worse it could take you like 30 minutes to get reconnected again.
The fact they said they will refund me (I havent checked that the money has actually been refunded yet though) shows that at least they arent a scam company and although it took like a week for them to reply at least they did reply and they arent a scam company.
