Bought an HP printer - couldn't set up in my Network - it kept crashing. Contacted support 10+ times within several months. Every day new person tells me to do same stupid things again and again, I've... See more

HP's customer service is useless and HP's warranty is a lie
I purchased an HP laptop in November 2025. When I registered my purchase with HP's online services to ensure that the one-year factory warranty was attached to my laptop, I could see that HP had an incorrect purchase date of June 2025, which meant my warranty would only last 7 months instead of 12 months. I then spent countless hours communicating with HP customer service staff by online chat, phone, and email, to attempt to get HP to correct the warranty date. It's now February 2026 and the issue still isn't resolved, 4 different case files with HP customer service. Every time, HP customer service asks me to send them my invoice for proof of purchase and a photo of the laptop's serial number and product number (on the back of the laptop), and I have sent those things. they ensure me that it will be sorted out within 10 business days, but they have yet to actually do what they said they would do. HP customer service is useless and a waste of time, and HP does not seem to stand behind its stated 1-year factory warranty.
Terrible customer support
Terrible customer support. I have ordered multiple replacement printer ink cartridges from HP online sore. Several of them have failed to dispense ink properly after only a brief period of use. I had always just thrown them away and ordered new ones. I finally decided to call HP customer support when a brand new tri-color cartridge stopped producing yellow. After half-an-hour on instant chat support - they told me they would have to transfer me to technical support so they could run diagnostic tests (which I had already done since they're built into the printer's software) to identify the problem (which I had already done). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Shame on HP for not treating their customers with respect - -
Soooo Bad
Look at these reviews. How can a company this big be this bad? I tried for 2 hours to set up a printer b4 giving it back. Zero human support.

extremely disappointed with Hp this is a review i never envisaged I would ever make; having used HP computers for years and also the partner group Compaq been a fond user of the companies products since the late 1990's over now six months I have reached out to customer services for in-depth information on co-pilot free laptops submitted 12 formal emails, and well over 94 queries on their main site for recommendations on these myriad of occasions i have been completely ignored, there is no respect towards customers and i need to point out loyal customers such as myself has lined their pockets and kept the brand alive

I admit my fault in buying HP.
But never again.

Laptop started shutting down randomly after only 7 months. Have to now be without a laptop whilst it gets "looked at"
No B&W Printing allowed.
HP will not allow it's printers to print B&W only so they can waste colour cartridges and have you buy more.
My experience with HP printers and Instant Ink
My experience with HP printers and their Instant Ink service has been extremely frustrating.
The HP cartridges they sent me were not even compatible with their own printer, which meant I couldn’t print anything at all. This created ongoing problems and a lot of unnecessary stress. When I contacted customer support, I had to spend hours on the phone arguing and trying to prove that the issue was with their product — not something I did.
Additionally, there was uncertainty about whether they would even issue a refund for the month when I wasn’t able to print a single page because of their faulty cartridges.
Overall, this experience caused significant inconvenience, wasted time, and disappointment. I expected better reliability and customer support.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I bought a printer over a month ago. Sent in proof of purchase to receive £30 cash back. What a joke… been told to send further evidence of purchase, did this then had reply that they have everything needed to send the cash back. Not received it so I emailed to chase. Email back from Alex today saying get back in touch with Hp as I’ve not sent in correct evidence of purchase. What a joke! Also ordered paper and that didn’t come so chased two weeks ago, chap on phone said it would be sent out that week and I’m still waiting! It should not be this hard!!!!
Beware of HP Cheap glued Laptop HINGE.
I purchased an HP laptop, after 10 months the hinge broke. HP would not cover replacement, they know they have poor design and have opted not to cover warranty . I have been a faithful HP user for years, I will never buy another HP! Buyer be a ware, check for lamented hinges. I’m an 84 man who never dropped or abused Laptop.

Hp Laserjet Printer 140w, worse experience
Subject: Formal Complaint: Software Design Inflexibility and Support Limitations regarding HP LaserJet M140w
To HP Customer Service / Management Team,
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent purchase of an HP LaserJet M140w. While I appreciate the quality of HP hardware, the current software integration and support experience have been significantly below expectations for a loyal customer.
1. Mandatory Software Requirements:
Despite a direct USB connection to my computer, the HP Smart application consistently restricts access to basic scanning functions unless a mandatory account login is completed. As a consumer who has purchased this hardware in full, I believe the fundamental features of the device should be accessible without compulsory account registration or cloud-based authentication.
2. Lack of Inclusivity for Non-Wi-Fi Users:
My current living environment does not have a dedicated Wi-Fi network. During my consultation with your technical support team, I was explicitly informed that this device is "designed for Wi-Fi only" and that without a network, the printer's utility is severely limited. This design philosophy appears to exclude customers in non-standard network environments, rendering a professional tool into an unusable device despite its physical connectivity.
3. Ineffective Technical Support:
The technical support I received failed to provide a practical solution for a non-Wi-Fi setup. The issuance of a case reference number, while a standard procedure, does not address the core issue of device accessibility. For a consumer, the value of the product lies in its immediate utility, not in administrative record-keeping.
4. Observations on Customer Retention:
I believe that true customer loyalty is built on flexibility and ease of use, rather than mandatory software constraints. The current "locked-in" approach creates a barrier between the brand and its supporters. Consequently, this experience has significantly diminished my confidence in choosing HP products for my future professional needs.
Conclusion:
I urge HP to consider the diverse needs of your customers and provide more flexible, offline-capable software solutions for your hardware. I look forward to your constructive response regarding these concerns.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Ho
Once something goes wrong with printing…
Once something goes wrong with printing and you ask for help (Like I did) you are given a representitive. The end result is, your drivers for the printer are bad, and you need a new printer (mine was just purchased under one years time) They will miraculously give you one FREE. All you need to do is sign up for insta ink or a paper count per month. I foolishly did. I have been locked into that account for 2 years. Now if I want to drop it altogether (every 2 years they send you a FREE printer, only if you sign the all in one plan) You owe $$ for that printer. YES, I had a perfectly good printer and was told that the drivers were bad (they werent)I still have that printer, and it works, but, HP will ask if it can get into your computer to fix the printer problem. Instead I believe they are causing the problems with your printer. I want out, and I am going to get out of this All In One scam this year. My computer only costs $120 and I paid $11.99 for 2 years. HP sent me ink ONCE. I bought all my paper and I also bought HP ink from the store that HP did not like me to do. I am done. Be careful.
Disgusting Company
Forced firmware updates on printer, no ability to change this to manual. Forcing proprietary ink at inflated costs.
HP probably providing half of the landfill products at present
Wouldn't even give this garbage one…
Wouldn't even give this garbage one star, buy a brand new laptop, supposedly has a camera, but you can't turn it on. There's no button, there no slider, there's no information. No help, nothing. Typical HP garbage, I wouldn't even dream of wasting money on one of their crap printers, will add laptops to that and make sure I don't ever buy anything with the initials HP on it. How this company continues to make money when they are universally panned by everybody is beyond me.

Purchased a laptop 4 months ago. It will not stay connected to Wi-Fi. Contacted support and after 15 minutes on hold they hung up. No call back. Please avoid.
Hp UK is a truly lousy company to deal…
Hp UK is a truly lousy company to deal with. My EP22 monitor failed on the second day, and the company initially refused to accept this, despite the diagnostic checks confirming the fault. Now, my laptop's (Envy 360) camera has failed, but the company refuses to acknowledge its own manufacturer's 12-month warranty. Its staff are difficult to deal with and uninterested in dealing with problems.
The "Helpdesk" should be renamed "Hinderdesk"!
I'm not sure I'd ever buy from HP ever…
I'm not sure I'd ever buy from HP ever again. There support is atrocious. I've now been passed from one department to another. I've been in the phone for 33 minutes and counting and now I've just been told I am going to be passed on to another department again. APPALLING SERVICE
CASHBACK OFFER IS A SCAM!!!!!
Bought a printer from Argos when there was a cashback promotion. £15 for the printer and £15 for an instant ink subscription.
I uploaded proof of purchase, the serial number from the printer, and my instant ink subscription. I received an immediate acknowledgement. Two weeks later they disputed the instant ink subscription number, so I had to send a screenshot. Another week on and they are now disputing the printer serial number so I've had to provide photo's.
It's far too much hassle dealing with this company. Avoid at all costs and try a different brand. It's clearly delay tactics or imagine they'll find another excuse not to pay the cashback. And, yes, for the record, I provided all required information correctly at the outset. Nothing is different on the photo's I have provided.
