Very disappointing experience
My wife and I were very disappointed with our experience of H Register and Son during our attic renovation.
As the project progressed, communication became increasingly difficult. The build overran the original contracted schedule by approximately two and a half months. We were initially told this was due to additional roof works and supply delays, but later informed that the delay was attributed to changes and interference on our part, which we did not agree with.
We experienced concerns with aspects of workmanship, including a door that required multiple return visits to adjust, and a leak at the flat roof/chimney junction which we ultimately had remedied by an independent third party.
Shortly after scaffolding was removed, we noticed issues with our garage roof which were not resolved to our satisfaction.
Following completion, we received repeated requests for immediate full payment despite the contract allowing a 21-day payment period. We found the tone of this communication very stressful.
We were also surprised to receive separate invoices from subcontractors for elements we understood to be included in the original quotation.
Overall, we regret our decision to proceed with H Register and Son and would not use this company again.
