“Attempted” delivery

Was given 9-3pm slot for delivery. Was in all of the time and even after 3pm made sure that someone was in the house.
After 2:30 checked to see when delivery was going to be and it said pending waiting for shifted instruction. Apparently they tried to deliver it at 12.05, when I was is. I think they need to learn to knock at the door or ring the doorbell as I was in.
Rang back there was no resolution. Attempted.waiting for full refund. Avoid at all costs.

Appalling service - avoid at all costs.

Appalling service. First dishwasher was delivered damaged. Replacement was also sent out damaged. Third did not turn up at all. Although their own driver had arranged the third delivery over the phone before leaving which was later confirmed by customer services, and we had received texts and emails confirming the date, Hughes claimed that the depot had the delivery down for the next day. So, three days spent waiting in for absolutely nothing. Avoid at all costs.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Delivery date got cancelled night before. Then rearranged for 4 days later, then they didn’t turn up. I rang and cancelled the order after that. Won’t be using again.

Appalling service from Hughes

I ordered an oven and agreed a date for delivery and was told I would get a message on the day before to confirm delivery time. I did not get a message and phoned to ask why. I was told that delivery would be a day late. This was not convenient as I was going to be out for most of the day but agreed a delivery slot of between 1630 and 1830. On the day I got a phone call at 1130 from the delivery driver saying he was outside my house. I had to drop everything I was doing and rush back home. Fortunately the driver had waited. When I pointed out that the agreed delivery time was much later in the afternoon he said that he hadn’t been told about it. He went on to say that, as far as he was concerned, delivery times did not mean a thing.

Extremely poor service

I was in last Tuesday and bought an AEG cooker from your Lowestoft store.
Today it arrived and they could not fit it.
I was assured at the store it would fit and it does fit but your fitters' regulations say the space on either side is not enough for new guidelines
At no point in the store or when I received a call yesterday from the health and safety depot was this mentioned.
I am extremely upset that I now have no cooker , have paid for the fitting ,the cooker ,delivery, and insurance and yet I have no cooker.
This is appalling service and not what I expect from Hughes who have always had a good local reputation.
Not any more it seems and to try and get through to you on the phone is near impossible.

ArrowXL S##### delivery service

Awful delivery service. The company they use is ArrowXL and never made the time promised and lied and said they came and left a card Wasted my whole day waiting for this worthless delivery service. Get a better delivery company before they pull your business down.

DONT TRUST DELIVERY DATES

Ordered fridge freezer on next day delivery (to be delivered 9th September) as mine had broken over the weekend. Confirmation of order and delivery date received upon completing order. Received text on the same evening (8th September) from Arrow courier saying unable to deliver due to their availability and earliest delivery available was 12th September. Rang customer services who offered to cancel existing order and reorder saying they could deliver 10th September however would be using same courier. Had lost trust in the courier so I cancelled order. Will not use again and would not recommend.

Having purchased a fridge freezer from…

Having purchased a fridge freezer from Hughes in Martlesham , Ipswich it was duly delivered yesterday 3rd September 2025. On unpacking the item I found the back plate to be damaged at the bottom with foam protruding below the damaged area. I took photos and called their customer service who asked me to email the photos and send an email. This I did and had an email back this morning offering me £50 ! I have declined this and under the consumer rights have formerly asked for either a refund or replacement . Now waiting for a reply, but very disappointed with Hughes.

ArrowXL = Dreadful Service

The actual online buying experience with Hughes Electrical was fine and the next day delivery was a bonus, if only that's what is was. Hughes Electrical's courier service Arrow XL is beyond dreadful.

Fridge was due to arrive between 13:30 - 15:30 on July 24th, arrived with no warning at 08:30 on July 25th (17 hours late) due to a lorry breakdown, at no point was I informed of this, they then refused to collect the old fridge/freezer despite paying for this service.

It took over a week of complaining to get the old fridge/freezer collected and was told at one point they did collect when they delivered the new one, which was a blatant lie. Eventually was sent an e-mail at 20:50 on August 10th to be told it was going to be picked up the next day - not even the courtesy to ask if this was convenient.

To date I have received no apology from either Hughes Electrical or Arrow XL.

My advice steer very clear of both these companies. On a brighter note new fridge/freezer working well!!!

I recently bought a 100” TV

I recently bought a 100” TV, and I have to say, it was a fantastic deal. The price was really good compared to other places I checked. Plus, the delivery process was smooth and, best of all, it was free! They showed up right on time and set everything up without any hassle. I’m really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this experience to others looking for a big TV.

Woefully bad delivery service...

Hughes price is competetive, but ArrowXL delivery really needs binning off. Would leave no stars if I could. Save yourself a headache and use John Lewis if its any sort of bulky appliance or you have tricky access. Arrow really couldnt give a s**t.

A great Company let down by a poor delivery Company

Have to start by saying that Hughes Electrical are an excellent company, but, in our experience, they have been completely let down by their delivery company, ArrowXL, which in our case has resulted in our cancelling our purchase. On 2 successive Mondays, we’ve taken the day off to receive our delivery and on both occasions ArrowXL have failed to so. It’s all the more upsetting because on both Occasions I have spoken to Adam at Hughes Electrical, who is as good as it gets as a Customer Services representative, Adam was extremely polite, helpful and professional, a credit to his company, he could do no more.

Arrow XL and Hughes what a shambles a mess,

Arrow XL and Hughes what a mess,
You’ve caused me nothing but distress.
I booked for the 28th — clear as day,
But you moved it forward with no OK.

No call, no note, no word at all,
Just silence when I try to call.
I’ve taken time off work — unpaid!
While your support just fades and fades.

Why so hard to get it right?
Why no updates, day or night?
It shouldn’t be this tough to track,
Just bring my order — no more flak!

Give these monkeys a miss.

Chose to do a click and collect for a soundbar with choosing the option of paying in store. Well i collected and got home and realised i was never charged. Due to the nature of my job i wouldnt have a chance to go back and rectify this for a few days. A few days later i recieved a phone call pretty much saying pay this off or we'll come and take it back. highly unnecessary. I was always going to pay but dont need some idiot from the shop phoning. Its not my fault your staff are mongs and cant get their job done. First time using the store. And its the last time. The Mcdonalds of electrical products.
