While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Illegal hidden ticketing fee

Tried to sign up for these guys' "Dragon Ride" sportive, but they slap a blatantly illegal hidden "ticketing fee" after you jump through all their hoops and go to the checkout.

Sighed, cancelled my booking, did it again to add multiple riders to the booking, only to discover that the "booking fee" gets charged again for each rider. So it is basically a slimy extra fee slapped on top. Just a little bonus for themselves.

I can't see any reason why they can't include this in the headline price apart from doing a bait and switch. I also can't see how this is legal.

Might as well just ride their route and don't pay them their £100+ fee with the extra "booking" charge on top.

Swam last Sunday at the Windsor…

Swam last Sunday at the Windsor Triathlon and was very ill the following day. Found out via social media that I was not on my own. Some 20+ others. Human Race said they regularly tested the water and sent some standard disclaimer. I asked them for evidence of when they last tested the water but dead silence.
I've done a few events with them. Used to be caring business but since recent takeover are now just a money making enterprise. Sad
