People frequently complained that the smart scale and companion app provide wildly inaccurate body measurements, inconsistent weight readings, and struggle constantly with Bluetooth connectivity issues. I read a lot of the reviews here and…

I read a lot of the reviews here and the apparent terrible experiences with both the Pod and the Band. I have both and I have experienced none of the above.

- I would agree that the material used for the Pod seems a bit on the cheap side and could definitely have been engineered with more solid material (which I gave them feedback on).
- It definitely takes 10 days to 2 weeks for both the Pod and the Band 2.0 to build up its knowledge of you and your body and put together useful trends and analysis (true of any product like this).
- The sleep analysis was a little buggy at first and i did do some quick searches. There is a reliable workaround for it to record properly overnight past midnight which has worked for me consistently which will do for now until a new release comes
- I have had no issues with either device syncing to my S25. For those having trouble, especially if you have multiple people using the Pod, make sure you follow the instructions - pair it via the app and NOT the Bluetooth utility on your phone.
- For those with dry skin like myself, make sure you dampen your hands and feet (damp, not soaked). I had problems with my other scale not getting a reading for that same reason. Dampening always solved it
- Customer service has been great for me. When I initially bought mine, my wife expressed interest as well and when I contacted them about honoring a subsequent BuyOne GetOne offer i saw a few days later, I provided a screenshot and that was that. They also did the same for an additional discount on the Band. I also gave that as a suggestion to stop the gimmicky pricing.
- They honored a price reduction I found on the Band and i had a refund in about 6 business days (not unreasonable at all)
- Shipment and receiving all products was roughly a week or so which again, is not unreasonable for free shipping.

I'm sorry that so many of you are having issues, maybe the above will help some of you out, I don't know. But my own personal experience so far (about a month into it) has been very positive.

Bad product and bad return policy

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5

Very disappointed with both the product and the return experience.

I purchased the Hume Pod because of the company's marketing claims about "DEXA-like accuracy" and the advertised 98% correlation with DEXA scans. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different.

The scale failed several measurements before finally producing body composition results that appeared unrealistic and inconsistent. It felt no more accurate than much cheaper body composition scales on the market.

Another major disappointment was discovering that many additional insights require a subscription. For a premium-priced scale, I expected more features to be included without ongoing fees.

When I contacted support to return the product, the first response was an attempt to keep me by offering a partial refund and free Premium access instead of addressing my concerns. Although they eventually agreed to a full refund, I was told that I must pay the return shipping costs myself.

So, in summary:

• Expensive product with questionable accuracy.
• Extra features hidden behind a subscription.
• Multiple failed measurements.
• Return process involves additional costs for the customer.
• Customer retention offers instead of immediately resolving the issue.

For the price, I expected a premium experience. Instead, I ended up with a lot of hassle and an expensive scale that did not deliver on the expectations created by the marketing.

I would not purchase from Hume Health again.

Rubbish!

It is a terrible piece of equipment. Cheaply built with cheap components. Inaccurate, glitchy, the app is awful. You can’t trust anything about it. A cheap pair of normal weighing scales would be more valuable.

I'd give it zero if I could

I'd give it zero if I could. It's no better than a chinese amazon 60 dollar smart scale-- does not integrate into my google health app automatically and my loftilla smart scale does, and the body fat%, absolute lbs and basal metabolism are totally wrong for a nearly 67 year old athletic female who is 5'3" and weighs less than 124 lbs so that whole 98% dexa accuracy is marketing malarkey. I'd return for a refund but it's a pain in the butt, but Im warning you -- don't buy it even at any sale price or with HSA dollars. Absolutely not worth it.

Incredibly low & inaccurate body fat…

Incredibly low & inaccurate body fat readings alongside other poor metrics. The weight is ok however this product certainly isn't what its branded to be. The customer service is poor and they will not take ownership of the faulty device nor will they refund the product without me paying a costly tracked redelivery. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Complete Trash

Complete Trash. Dexa says 26.1 percent body fat; Hume says 44 percent the one time I could get it to work. The rest of the time it fails to read and tells me to wet my feet again. Trash.

Body pod doesn’t work & Hume won’t refund me

Hume Health sent me a scale that 100% doesn’t work and I have been fighting to get a return for the past month. It shows I am at <10% body fat which is insane for a middle aged woman (and incorrect). I tried for days to calibrate. I have been going back and forth with their support team via email for nearly a MONTH to return this clearly defective product. Instead they asked me to “prove my body fat” using 2 additional professional body fat measuring scales 🤯 which is insane.

And they then said they would refund me, but still haven’t a month later. I submitted a dispute with Amex and included the 8 emails, RIGHT, that show their ridiculous requests to show me the body fat measurement from 2 other scales, then an escalation to engineering, then a promise to return, which I now realize is simply a stall tactic.

They seem like a VERY untrustworthy company that don’t understand how to interact with humans. I bought because a PT influencer I trust promoted it and Unfortunatly didn’t do my research.

It’s insane how many people I now found complaining about the their scale not working/being defective.

Stay far far far away from Hume Health. Awful.

Wow, what a piece of crap

Wow, what a complete pile of crap. Who invented this thing. Please leave the planet. Even if the app worked as designed, it is incredibly intrusive- meaning it wants access to your other devices, health information apps & records etc. Then you have to create an account just to use it, and that requires your contact info, name and body metrics (the latter of course makes sense). If you are the type that just lets your phone and apps tell you what to do in life without a clue about your privacy or how your data is being monetized, maybe you could live with the app. I just want to check and track my body fat%. The app allows you one shot and will not allow a repeat or delete a reading if you have issues (step off the scale, have dry hands or feet, or your toddler steps on the scale midway). I cant stand this thing. Its like a car that tries to prevent you from changing lanes when you are trying to change lanes. Let me do what I want to do, the world does not need any more crappy software to tell us what to do, and be wrong about it. But aside from the terrible software design, it does not even work as designed. The thing loses connection and cannot reestablish the link to your phone, and there is no way to use this P.O.S. without a "smart" phone.

World Worst Customer Service For The Non Functioning BodyPod

Worst Customer Service Ever For Non Functional Products.

-Been through several Hume Body Pods they never work for very long, don't pick up the actual reading and the bluetooth connection always has an issue. This happened with three of them and it added hours of trying to make it work each week making my morning start out with a total failure for 30 plus minutes to get a reading....that's because this is a total failure and they just keep selling it. Three of them did the same thing and it's hilarious how this company just keeps hustling for sales. I gave up totally and got my sanity back. I'm a high performance leader and the last thing I need is a failing device that never works to mess with my internal programming.

- Hume Health Band- basically the same totally subpar experience and the marketing is so over the top how it "detects diseases before they start" and all of this nonsense. Try just Truth and then you can call yourself a health based company. The thing does nothing of the kind and it's all hype. Gave up on this and saw the pattern of low value dysfunctional products as their signature way of doing things to gain marketshare.

-Staggeringly worse customer service I've ever experiences. At one point 6 full weeks of follow up emails to get the above items resolved and get working devices that I paid for in this total grift and hustle they are running. Zero response when I'd put at the top of each email "PRODUCTS NOT WORKING- NEED YOU TO RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-2ND REQUEST"...and I did that over and over and at the point of 10 of these someone responded to begin to help. At some point the manager of the hustle took over the response after I refused to keep sending more videos of this thing as I was clear I'd video documented the absolute absurdity of these products and their non functionality. So this women who is the Queen of the Hume Hustle then starts in on this whole excuse that was pure behavior of a narcissist trying to gaslight me saying they'd been responding all along and it was classic zero accountability, blame shifting and gaslighting to get me to question my own sanity. I fired back with a video of my inbox and my junk folder and let her know that I'd not accept this kind of attempt to distort my reality and make me question my own sanity by telling these lies when we all know they just didn't respond to 10 emails over 6 weeks saying, "PRODUCTS NOT WORKING- NEED YOU TO RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-10TH REQUEST."
So I just set a hard boundary and she agreed to send me a replacement.

-Received a replacement and the exact same issues for the 3rd time. Meanwhile I'd got sucked into the band for it all to work together so now Im in their captive matrix with no body pod to work with this and I just got the full message, this is just a cage of captivity where they got you into their system where once you're in there they just keep their focus on just hustling more sales with the same grift, knowing their stuff is junk. I could see it's a sales culture not a service culture and it was clear there is no Health in Hume Health, and rather. it was Hume Hell.

No matter the fancy emails and constant marketing they pump out to get the hook into you, make this a hard pass on their entire Hume Hell that literally makes you feel sick after all.

Bought one. Terrible product. Won't refund

Bought one. First was completely unable to stay connected to app and battery died in 3 days. Hume sent me a second scale. This one connected to the app no problem but battery also dies in just a couple days. They offered a refund but have missed the window they said by weeks. I don't think this is a quality product and not sure they stand behind their refund policy either.

Don't waste your money!

This seems to me to be a piece of kit that was either rushed to market or is just not fit for purpose. We spent a morning trying to get it set up and did everything that was recommended to get readings (several times) and, apart from our weights, it was not able to deliver on any of the other measurements it was suposed to..... it is absolutely useless!! I have requested a refund from Hume. Don't waste your money on this piece of kit!

Awful

Awful. The only accurate reading is the weight. The rest is wildly inaccurate. My experience is much the same as others. Even worse, I am having a hard time getting a refund from both pid and wristband. I think there is something dodgy about this company.

Expected better from the scale

Received the scale the day after Christmas & have used it almost daily since (minus a couple of weeks when I traveled). Did not purchase the band as I use a Garmin watch. Linked my garmin connect app via the Google Fit app as recommended so the apps could share info. I'm convinced that the Hume API is lacking due to the fact that my Garmin shows over 500 "active minutes" weekly that doesn't transfer to the Hume home screen. My sleep time transfers. Garmin tells me I'm very healthy for my age (I'm 60 & Garmin says my "physical" age is 55 and Hume assesses my "metabolic" age as 62... which is probably fair because my cardio health is very good so my calorie burn is very efficient--needing less calories to survive). I've had a few instances of inaccurate weigh ins (i check the accuracy by weighing on my fitbit scale which almost always mirrors the weight on Hume to the ounce) Are the algorithms Hume uses accurate?-- I'm strength training and it says I've lost fat but gained no muscle. Get around 90 minutes of "vigorous activity" weekly (heart rate in zone 4 or 5). Resting HR upper 50s when asleep. BP low. And Hume says my "overall health score" is 247.... really? They've also recently tweaked the percentage of water so it is inaccurately low-- that should be a simple excel formula. Shared concerns with customer service which was a waste of time. I would guess that they outsource the software engineers and nobody at the actual company understands the algorithms. Overall, this scale inspires me to continue my healthy habits but I'm going to have a Dexa scan in July to compare and see if it's within the 3% error margin that they claim.

HUME BODY POD SCALES - DONT WORK / DONT BUY THEM

I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the scales but I can vouch for the scales not syncing with the App very recently in the last 1 month. I have sent 6 emails to the company in the last 2 weeks and have got a response of try this try that etc. However, I have tried everything following all instructions and it still fails when trying to record to the APP. I have concluded that this company has a serious problem and that it might be scam or they have run out of money. Either way no one should buy the product as either its a scam (which i dont think it is), they have run out of money for funding their product development which clearly does not work, do not abide by their refund policy, have a terrible and i mean terrible customer support team who are avoiding the decision to refund or send out a new set of scales because either they have run out of money or have stopped producing the scales. The problem is I now think that the huime band is unreliable because the hume pod does not work. So if thatg starts cascading then this company will go bust and your band will not be supported and function. I am appalled by all this. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLTUIL THERE IS A PUBLIC STATEMENT OF WHAT IS GOING WRONG.

False Advertising + Refuses to honor return policy

This company is a total scam. I received the device, but very quickly noticed it was not compatible for my goals and size - I am an athlete struggling with low body fat, was hoping to monitor body fat increases between DEXA scans but found that the only goals supported by the Hume Pod are Weight Loss or Muscle Gain, neither of which apply to me. Furthermore, the readings fluctuated significantly day-to-day, which I assume are primarily due to my small size and athletic build. The pod simply isn't created for small athletes with precise body composition goals, which is fine, or, would be fine if they would simply honor return request.

I contacted support @ myhumehealth.com to initiate a return on Day 6 after receiving my order, yet they refuse to process my return. 30 days and 8 emails later they still have not taken action on my request.

According to the Hume return policy, I should be able to return the product within 45 days for a refund. My request is clearly within policy.

Do Not Buy From This Company!!

AVOID... Absolutely disgraceful company...

Absolutely disgraceful company. I was a loyal FitTrack customer for over 5 years before they rebranded to Hume. My original scales worked perfectly, but I was effectively forced into buying their overpriced Body Pod after support for older devices was dropped. They advertise a “45-day no questions asked” refund policy - which is completely misleading.

I requested a refund within 10 days because the Body Pod barely worked. It constantly disconnected, failed to sync, and produced wildly inconsistent readings. Instead of honouring their guarantee, they made the return process intentionally difficult, insisting THEY had to confirm a fault first - despite this being nowhere in their advertised policy.

What followed was weeks of delays, endless hoops to jump through, and replies taking 4-5 days each time. By the time I finally demanded a refund outright, they conveniently claimed the 45-day window had expired - entirely because of their own stalling tactics.

Avoid this company at all costs.
