faulty heating elements, no guarantee

We bought a Huum 9KW heating oven for our sauna.

The heating elements stopped working after 9-10 months, and the company claimed that they were not covered by the 2 year guarantee that you have on products bought in the EU.

We had to buy 5 new heating element and pay a certified electrician to install them, a total cost of around 500 euros, that we covered ourselves.

Heating elements failed after 3 months - NOT covered by warranty
I was told this heater came with a 3-year warranty. I naturally assumed that meant the entire heater was covered. WRONG. HUUM doesn't warranty heating elements despite them being the most critical component. Mine burned out after only 3 months of use, and I'm on the hook for the full replacement cost.
The "warranty" is essentially worthless when the part most likely to fail isn't covered. At this price point, that's unacceptable. Research the warranty carefully before buying - you may be replacing expensive parts much sooner than expected.

Hi Gary

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration. You’re right that a heater failing after 3 months should be taken seriously.

The warranty for HUUM heaters does indeed cover the unit itself for 3 years. However, as is standard across the sauna industry, heating elements are not included in that warranty. This is because failures are often caused by factors outside the product itself, such as installation conditions, water quality, or incorrect usage.

That said, we don’t want to leave you without support. Our reseller explained this to you and also offered to review your installation to see if they could help identify and fix any issues that may have caused the problem. This offer still stands — we’re more than willing to work with you to find a solution.

We value every customer and take feedback like yours seriously. If you’re open to it, please reach out so we can revisit this together.

Looks Nice, but Extremely Poor Quality and Performance – Avoid HUUM

I purchased a HUUM wood-burning stove expecting premium quality, but was extremely disappointed. The build quality is shockingly bad – there are even visible gaps in the construction. The stove performs poorly and takes far too long to heat up, especially compared to my Harvia M3, which is cheaper but vastly superior in both performance and reliability.

To make things worse, HUUM’s customer service is terrible. The staff were arrogant and dismissive when I reached out for support. It’s clear that HUUM is more focused on aesthetics than functionality. Their stoves might look good on Pinterest or Instagram, but they are not made for true sauna enthusiasts.

If you value real sauna experiences and expect lasting quality, do not buy HUUM. This brand is all style and no substance.

The glass fell out of the door of the wood stove. Almost burnt the whole structure down.
The people at HUUM have not been responsive about sending new glass. It has been a month of phone calls and emails. still sitting around with a suana we can't use.

It is true they did not have direct contact with me because they never called me back or responded. but they did send me two replacement glasses which is handy because it broke for the second time

Almost burned down my business building…

I’ve had my sauna and heater for less than 3 months, and it almost caught fire 🔥😱. Sparks were flying everywhere, and thankfully, I was there to catch it before something worse happened.

The worst part? Their customer service is impossible to reach. I’ve sent countless emails, messaged them on Instagram, and tried every possible way to get in touch—no response. It’s been an absolute nightmare.

We use this sauna at our business location, and it’s only on when someone is using it. This is a major safety hazard and speaks volumes about the product’s quality. I’ve attached photos to show the damage.

Extremely disappointed and concerned—this could have ended much worse.

DONT BUY HUUM

One year with the Nest 9kw and it has nearly turned my sauna into a casual backyard bonfire with the elements lighting on fire during heat up. The design is very poor and the support has taken over a month to get warranty approved to get new elements. The occasional overnight email in US that asks one question at a time, that could easily be streamlined with a single message back.

Electrician just came out and is now not comfortable re-installing due to the fried terminal block, not just a heating element issue. Everything was set up to US standards.

Hoping Huum can make this one right. Would ideally cut ties entirely and get my money back, go in a different direction for a better/safer product

Best sauna stoves

Over the past 4 years, I have purchased two HUUM HIVE Wood stoves - one for my home and later another one for my summer house. When buying the second stove, there was no question about which brand to choose. In addition to HUUM's unmatched design, the stove provides a very pleasant sauna experience, and the quality is excellent. A fantastic product that I use every week!

I bought a UKU 4G remote control for my sauna. After many back and forth emails since they do not have a telephone number HUUM figured out that the SIM card that comes with the device only works in Estonia and nowhere else. Essentially a not functioning device. The company was unable to resolve despite many patient efforts on my end to find a solution.

I will report them to the EU consumer department for selling something that is not according to their advertisement.

Would certainly not recommend them.

DO not buy 4G UKU

DO not buy HUUM 4G UKU. It does not work. They do not know when it will work. I have tried to resolve it with their help via email to get it to work but have been unsuccessful. No resolution has been offered but I was told to wait. Very, very strange... Next time go with Harvia or another known brand.

We purchased a HUUM UKU 4G and can't connect to the system. Even though it seems to work manually, it's not practical. It's supposed to be controlled through an app on our phones, and we can't get it working.
I have exposed the problem to the supplier and tried to reach the manufacturer several times, but I only got one email suggesting we convert the equipment purchased to a different one, which won't work for us.
It's truly disheartening to experience such issues with a product from a company that claims to be the future of saunas. This level of disappointment is not what we expected.
Please stay away from them!

Stay away

While the Huum saunas themselves may be of some quality (I can't say for certain), their business practices leave a lot to be desired. Their aggressive investor approach clashes terribly with the image they try to cultivate.

Here's the issue: Huum positions itself as a premium sauna brand, likely to attract investors seeking a luxurious and potentially sustainable product. But if they're truly scamming investors, that whole image crumbles. This behavior makes me question the overall integrity of the company and the quality of their products.

As a potential customer, I'm hesitant to trust a company that treats investors this way. It raises serious concerns about their financial stability and future.

If you're considering a Huum sauna, I urge you to do your research. There are other reputable sauna brands out there that deserve your business more.
