The Virum is brilliant.

Just bought a pair of the folding Virum e-bikes. Hygge UK were really quick at helping us place our order. The bikes come ready to go, you just need to rotate the handle bars, adjust the seat and you're ready for a test ride.
We started by seeing how they rode without electric assist; it felt a little different than riding a conventional bike with 26" wheels at first but within seconds it felt quite natural. The brakes are better than anything I've tried before and the gears make it easy to ride.
With the electric assist, everything is even easier; we found we didn't need to change down in gear too much to ride off after stopping at junctions etc.
Our normal 6 mile shopping trip was a joy, even in the cold, and we only used 16% of battery capacity.
The Virum fitted easily into the boot of our car, a medium sized hatchback. The saddle was quick and easy to drop making it easier to get it in to the car.
We look forward to taking the Virums on the train and into the country in the car.

I ordered a throttle for my Vestor 2023…

I ordered a throttle for my Vestor 2023 model, paid £39.99 ,later informed it wasn’t available,I did not want the 2024 version, and 6 days later Hygge have still not refunded me despite telling me several times I would receive it by 5pm today at the latest. They finally did refund me at a later time.
The bikes are good, but communication with the company is poor.

Really not for me

Really not for me. I'm large and tall, within the boundaries that Hygge specify, but none the less this bike does not fit. It's also really not a commuter 'foldy bike'. It weighs so much, it's not really 'quick convert and take it on a bus' type of bike. Its folding capacity is really just to get it into a car boot, but even that takes some effort, and still needs to be a sizeable boot.

It's fair to say I had a few problems with the bike initially. Due to my size and the height I had the seat post, I managed to bend the seat post. This is, apparently, a known issue and I was issues with a replacement post. The first didn't fit, the second did but came without a clamp, so I had to wait for one of those to be delivered as well. The second seat post also bent after about 20k riding. I was shipped another 'more sturdy' post, but this time the saddle didn't 'mesh' with the new seat post and just kept twisting. All this took months, and meant I actually rode the bike very little.

After consideration, I realised I'd never actually enjoyed a single ride on this bike, and measuring it, it was 10cm shorter distance between my saddle and handlebars to what I was used to. It's really not comfortable. I asked if it could be returned, to be told I was not in the 30 days 'cooling off period', so no. The bike is now up for sale, and despite Hygge claiming all they wanted to do was ensure that I was happy, I'm not.

Ordered two bikes from Hyggebikes

Ordered two bikes from Hyggebikes. One of the bikes has a faulty battery which stopped working after just 20 miles and won't recharge (I switched around the battery to confirm the fault and checked the fuses). Hygge Bikes are not responding to emails. Needless to say furious and extremely disappointed with Hygge bikes at the moment. Pick another company for your ebikes

Frustrating and very unprofessional

I was very happy with my Hygge vester bike until it broke after 200 miles. These bikes are under a 12 month warranty and I was told it could be weeks or months to get replacement parts. This is actually stated on their website, now they've also included the earthquake in Turkey. After being absolutely messed about it was agreed to send me a replacement bike. Even this has been a nightmare. I was told the delivery would be between 4 and 6pm and its now nearly 7.30 and I'm being told it will definitely be delivered tonight. I live in Walsall and the driver still has Crewe and Stoke to deliver to, I could be waiting till after 10 o'clock. Hygge have done a great job of marketing these cheap bikes from China, but fall short when they go wrong. Personally I wouldn't buy one, I'd stick with an £800 electric bike from Decathlon or Halfords. It really is a shame because its a great looking bike. I'm only skimming the surface of the trouble and promises that have been made to me by Hygge. I feel like I've wasted enough of my life trying to get my bike back on the road, emails back and forth, messages, broken promises and frustration. It's up to you but I really wouldn't purchase again.

Vester Lite for an easy life

The uphill slogs were getting too tough on my Mountain bike so decided to go electric. I have had the bike for 3 months and rode mostly on off road tracks. The Vester Lite although heavier than I expected does perform well particularly on the inclines. Great customer service always helpful.

Poor customer service

Purchased vester lite showed In stock on website. Was told two weeks rather than the 3 days it said at time of purchase. Was offered a “perfect condition” showroom bike instead. It arrived damaged, scratched and dented. Received partial refund of £70. Used the bike twice seat bracket snapped and seat post bent. Was told I could return the bike. After returning I was initially promised full remaining refund. Later same day salesman jack rang to say he would only be willing to return £500 for the refund. They blamed me for the damage and said take it or leave it you’ll get nothing. Then he tried to accuse me of threatening him. Eventually they offered me £650 and said I’d have to pay their restocking costs. After disputing this further and enduring numerous insults. I finally received the outstanding balance. Overall the bike is of decent build quality. I think I was unlucky in that respect. Although be aware if you’re over 6ft 2 the bike is not suitable ,this has now been added to the website. The customer service is the really disappointing aspect of my experience. Accusations from staff, insults and a lack consistency. Even when I received the refund they refused to apologise for the way they handled my case.

Superb piece of kit - I love it......

Writing reviews is not really my thing, however, I have been so impressed with my new Hygge Vester Lite I decided to share the experience. The bike is really well made, delivery and packaging was great, it looks really strong with a high quality build and feel. I have done approximately 20 miles so far and have been really impressed with the ride. The electric motor is awesome and accelerates up to 15.5 mph rapidly, after completing 20 miles the battery is still showing 2 bars (50%) so very good on potential range.
The brakes and gears work perfectly and the saddle is comfortable, the seating position is more upright than standard UK bikes but that is a positive as it works really well on and off road. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase, not the cheapest but certainly the best quality and performance for the price.

A touch sceptical at first...

Moving back to London for my job from Denmark I was in need of a bike as I couldn't bring everything back from there and I started searching for bikes online. I was a touch sceptical on buying a bike online at first but the great customer service made me make a dare and I went for it. I bought the hygge aarhus and got a complimentary helmet with it from the company as I told them I had lived in the Danish town of Aarhus for past couple of years. To the review then so I have been using it for a few weeks or so and I'm really happy with it good battery mileage easy and quick charging. Recommended
