Administration and booking terrible

Administration and booking terrible , didnt seem to know what i was coming in for , rearranged and scheduled and then refused to give me an eye test , because my NHS code had run out , which im not even sure is true . I will never use this optician again .

Thank you for getting in touch, and I’m sorry to hear that your experience at our Tavistock branch wasn’t what you hoped for.

I was a little surprised to hear this, as on the day of your visit we did our best to explain why we weren’t able to go ahead with your eye test at that time — mainly because you’re still under the care of the hospital for your eye condition. I also mentioned that we’d be really happy to welcome you back for an eye test as soon as you’re discharged, and at the time, you seemed pleased with that plan.

Highly recommended!

Brilliant experience in the Tavistock branch; I had an eye test here first in 2022 and again in 2026 - both times I came out with the perfect pair of new specs for me. Excellent, friendly service; the staff couldn’t have been more helpful each time, tirelessly helping me to choose the right frames. Many thanks and I will be back again next time, I hope!

In my opinion the best private opticians I have ever been with! A really class-outfit, with expertise and technology to match. Always so friendly and welcoming!

I had my eye-test and glaucoma screening yesterday at Plymstock, and, apart from seeing the wonderful Simon Tester once more in a professional capacity as dispensing optician since he left Boots, Drake Circus, where I got to know him well.

He's a really great guy and is so reassuring about everything. I also felt most privileged to have been tested by Anna, a really charming young lady, who explained everything to me, completely reassuring me that all was basically fine, except for the slight ravages of senility - what, me - old? - but reinforcing the fact that I would always be in very safe and secure hands at Iconic Opticians.

Thank you, Simon, Anna, Lisa (for the much-hated field-of-vision test!} and Dinesh for assembling such a great team! Thank you all so much!

If your experience of an optician is one of those production-line big names, you just don't know what you're missing.

It makes sense to trust your eyes to the best possible carers, and I doubt if you find anything better than Iconic Opticians, especially now that they can offer their outstanding services in three diffenet venues - Plymouth's Cornwall Street, Plymstock Broadway, and now a new shop in Tavistock.

Don't go elsewhere

I have been going to Iconic opticians in Plymstock for about 18 months now. The service is so personal unlike those larger opticians which are like being on a conveyor belt.The optician i saw was called Katie, so professionally and on your wavelength.
