Lasted 48hrs and customer care non-existent!!

Just spent £4500 converting to gas CH and half of this was the Ideal Vogue Max C32 boiler with associated parts and 12 Year Warranty.

It lasted 48hrs before a "NO WATER FLOW FAULT" error message appeared on the display screen and started intermittently working. The installer came out to take a look and called the Ideal gas safe engineer technical support line. They were quite unhelpful and basically told him to leave it and advise me to book a Ideal registered call-out engineer to repair it.

I did so and was told due to the boiler being in the loft they would not book a call out until I had fitted a bespoke loft ladder. I then had to spend more money to buy and fit the ladder which I did immediately on the same day.

I then rang back to make them aware and was told that I would have to use the online chat through the Ideal website. I had to take photos of my installed loft ladder to prove I wasn't telling lies. They then responded to say they still couldn't book an engineer at that time but would be in touch via call.

The next day I received a call to say they would have an engineer come out to the boiler on the 29th of April (11 days to wait).

This company have left me with a very dim view of their customer care from the very start. Not to mention the reliability of this boiler system. Not even an apology has been given.

Crap boiler

Talk to soon Having give a one star review in october last year 2024 were now back to the boiler saying l2 again can only get hot water when we have the central heating on that takes 20 minutes to 30 minutes to get it working again have to ring them up again what crap boiler been like that from day one crap ideal.

Very bad service

Very bad service ! Rang to get my boiler serviced they took my money then said they couldn’t come for 6 weeks !!
Day before service they rang to say they couldn’t make it and wouldn’t be coming for another 3 weeks the guy was very rude and unbothered that I had waited so long!
In my opinion they don’t deserve the business I suggest you find someone better !!

Not even three years old and…

Not even three years old and spectacularly broken to point of them saying would need a new one. Their warranty engineer won't touch it because he said the installer must have put in a broken part. It is pointing fingers blame game when end of the day it's their useless chunk of metal that's faulty and they avoiding doing anything about it. Weeks of no heating or hot water.

this company is real shit

this company is real shit , just was waiting for my boiler to be serviced and was told by engineer that he cant access the pipework on the boiler becaused its housed in a cupboard.added tp this mess they were supposed to service boiler since november 2024 and never turned up ,book again and was told they are only dealing with emergencies and i have a 1 year boiler insurance with domestic and general.i wont recommend this service.

Brand new ideal boiler fitted

Brand new ideal boiler fitted . Weeks later letter informing of fault . Engineer pressurised boiler to 2.6 said there must be a leak ! When he left water gushing down my walls coming through kitchen ceiling. Thousands of pounds of damage Flue dripping water constantly “That’s normal “ ( side of building turning green ! . This company is a joke
Engineer wasn’t happy because he lost his bonus having to return for first fault !

These people are absolutely terrible

These people are absolutely terrible. Boilers poor quality failing several times with the same issue within 12 weeks. Terrible response time and look for every reason possible not to complete the job. Worst company I've dealt with

Avoid Ideal

I had an Ideal Logic 30kw boiler fitted in October.
It stopped working on 24th February. The installer called today but couldn't repair it so he contacted Ideal.
They said they would call out on MARCH 6TH! Seriously.
I complained and they sent me a text saying they would come on March 1st.
A four month old boiler and I have to wait 5 days before I have heating or hot water.
Pathetic.

PS
I agree with a previous poster about the ridiculous amount of water wasted before shower gets warm.
Buy something else.

Shambles Do not buy Ideal boilers.

Had installed a new boiler in the house. Got a letter from Ideal saying it had a possible defect and needed to be modified. Half a dozen appointments when they just didn't turn up and I took days off work..... still waiting for their "FIX"

Ideal complaints never ring back

Just lucky I have got their original letter to prove the recall and all their engineers texts.

Now consulting Gas Safe and Trading standards.

Experience dated today shambles going back months. Just wish we had picked another make.

They got one star only because you cant give a "0"

Broken boiler under warranty Ideal are refusing to fix it

The one year old boiler, which is still under warranty, stopped working at the weekend and the customer service refuses to send anybody out insisting it supposed to be fixed by the plumber. The plumbers naturally would not due to the boiler still being under warranty. We are stuck and the Ideal boiler made it very clear they dont care and are not even going to try to do anything.

Well another review for this waste of space company who just decided to cancel the engineer coming out today without even telling anyone.
A 74 year old man now been sitting for a fortnight with a broken boiler with a so called 10 year warranty .They couldn't care less to be honest.

Fitted an Atlantic 30 boiler as only need a 5 year Warranty.
Looks great, heats the house up quickly and the Hot water is more than adequate.
Great price, installer friendly and fitted in under a day. Could have fitted a boiler that was twice the cost but why, as we kept installed cost down.
Client loves it, more than happy.

Had a Logic Combi C30 fitted 3 weeks…

Had a Logic Combi C30 fitted 3 weeks ago in my house and it is Rubbish. I had a Y-Plan system before this and never had any problems with it. Instant hot water on demand immediately. This system uses at least 2 gallons of water before i get hot water in my bathroom then its either red hot or swaps from red hot to warm quite a lot. (my bathroom is about 14 foot away from the boiler.) So apart from it takes ages and can burn you if not careful it has also or will also increase my water bills as i am on a meter. If you have the bath tap on full it gives out luke warm water only so you have to trickle it in for it to get hot and my pressure isn't that high. I didn't buy this boiler i am just a council tenant but if i had it would be getting taken out and refunded its that poor. Wouldn't mind but its a 30KW with a supposed 12.4l a minute.

Shocking company to deal with took a 10…

Shocking company to deal with took a 10 year warranty out on boiler which are rubbish when making appointments to have parts replaced they cancel around an hour before they suppose to arrive last time I phoned told them there was 2 young children in the property with no heating or hot water and the lady i was speaking to just laughed stay well clear of this cowboy of a company

I'm at my parents home. Engineer went out, before Xmas, to service their boiler. Damaged the condensation pipe. Claims it was installed incorrectly several years ago. Not under warranty. Left an 80yrs old couple with a damaged leaking boiler, no central heating

Ideal - worst service

Ideal 300l tank. Failed under warranty, ideal failed to pay engineer cost for replacemnt, even though it was authorised. New tank installed, within 6 months heating element failed, engineer arrived, assessed and informed will return in few days. 3 months later and still no engineer.! Far from Ideal ! More like useless.

Incompetence …

I called over 2 weeks ago to report a fault on my boiler. The plumber I had previously had said I had a faulty heat exchanger & it would be cheaper for Ideal to fix it. The job card raised by Ideal stated that I needed a heat exchanger. Why did your engineer turn up & diagnose the fault A FAULTY HEAT EXCHANGER but say he didn’t have one on the van? Why won’t you return my phone calls & when are you coming back? Will you return my £345 if you are not going to do the work promised?
I had to give a minimum of 1 star!!

Excellent news 24th December Engineer booked to come. Ideal confirmed Stock checked & he has one on the van.
09:18 Engineer has left it’s definitely the Heat Exchanger he hasn’t got one!!!
