Got the kit Wednesday. fixed it Thursday. I used the iFixit guide. I did have some trouble getting the adhesive strips out and had to get my brother help me for a second by holding the battery while I was pulling on the adhesive strip after that everything went very smoothly. They sent some philips head screws to replace the pentalobe screws that are the first things that you remove. but I couldn't get them to seat so I just used the original pentalobe screws. Apple wanted way too much money to make it worth changing the battery. But, Thanks to fixit, my old obsolete iPhone that doesn't have a sim card anymore, I can now use as a glorified iPod!. Thank you very much Fixit!

A friend at work was discarding an old laptop of his, and I asked him if I could take it off his hands for him, seeing as I was currently in the market to purchase one for myself. He told me the battery was shot and would only last a few minutes unplugged.

I opted for the third party battery replacement over the OEM, as it would save me about $100. The guide for the repair was thorough and well put together. Overall, the repair took me roughly fifteen minutes and my salvaged laptop was back to working in factory condition.

This repair was certainly one of the simplest repairs I’ve done over the years, but I would highly recommend looking at the repair guide and make sure it’s something you can handle with your own abilities before you choose to purchase parts. Repairing your own items will save you considerable amounts of money in the long run, as well as the satisfaction and knowledge that comes with a successful repair.

It looked possible for even me to replace my eReader screen. Then, when I cooked the heating device too long and damaged it. I chickened out and took it to a Computer fixing place. When they told me they don't work on these devices I decided to give it another try. I carefully followed instructions and in about 2 & 1/2 hours I had it all disassembled. It only took about 30 tp 45 minutes to get it reassembled in the new screen. I had to charge the battery back up before I could proceed. Slowly but surely I got the device activated and changed the vcom number. AND IT WORKED!!! Usually I get things right the second or third time, so I was delighted that I actually did it and it worked.

I purchased a replacement screen from iFixit in mid-June 2025 for my iPhone 14 Pro Max (Model A2651). They sent me a screen labeled RJ13PM-W, which is for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, not my phone.

After installation, the screen displayed only a pink screen and immediately caused my phone to overheat severely. It became so hot overnight that I couldn’t even touch it in the morning. Since then, my phone’s battery has been permanently damaged — it now refuses to charge while in use and continues to overheat, even under normal conditions like using GPS in the car.

I contacted support immediately, and over the past month I’ve been transferred between three different agents, including someone claiming to be the Global Customer Operations Manager. They admitted the screen may have been mislabeled but continued to refuse a refund, instead offering to send another screen — the same model that damaged my phone. They later agreed to send a replacement battery, but by that point, the phone had already been damaged internally.

It is now mid-July, I have no working screen, no refund, and a damaged phone that I paid $97 to repair through iFixit. Their support is non-responsive (often taking a week between replies), and they have taken no accountability for the damage caused by sending the wrong part.

I trusted iFixit because of their reputation, but this experience has been a disaster. I am requesting:
• A full refund of $97
• Compensation for damage caused to my iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have all documentation, photos, and messages saved.

At no point was it mentioned that it would be shipped from Germany and now risk customs holding my items ransom due to a lack of clarity.Add to that the lack of a customer service contact or even email to try to resolve this.Pathetic and expect better from such a well as established and supposedly reputable company.

All of the tools are well made. I've only used them for a limited time but they've worked well. The grips on the wire stripper and flush cutter are very comfortable. With only a plug-in soldering iron prior to this it's nice to have a compact one where the temperature can be adjusted. Makes soldering onto ground planes easier.

Small improvements would be:
The locking mechanism on the wire stripper and flush cutter are weak.
A slot for the screwdriver would be nice too.

My 3DS battery arrived quickly and it works exceptionally!

I ordered a battery for my 6th gen iPod that needed to get replaced for a while now. I also added some tools to help me make the process of removing and adding the new battery to my iPod a whole lot smoother. I was expected to have the items delivered on a specific day but I actually got it I few days early which was fantastic. I got the package and started working on it and in a matter of less than 20 or so mins my iPod came back to life. Overall I had the right tools and product to get an old device up and running back again. I will definitely be purchasing more products from this company in the near future. Thanks again.

Part arrived as promised. Nicely/securely packed. Worked immediately and continues to perform as hoped. Price was fair. Very pleased.
