Ik ben Abel Pepping, geboren en getogen in Nederland. Na ruim twintig jaar te hebben gewerkt aan een succesvolle carrière als chef-kok, voelde ik de drang naar verandering. Een paar jaar geleden kwam ik aardewerk tegen en het maakte iets in mij los. Het begon allemaal bijna vijf jaar geleden met een pottenbakkersschijf in mijn woonkamer. Terwijl ik met klei experimenteerde en verschillende technieken uitprobeerde, ontdekte ik een hele nieuwe wereld van creativiteit en expressie. Voordat ik het wist, was mijn kleine hobby veranderd in iets veel groters. Tegenwoordig heb ik een deel van mijn huis omgebouwd tot een gezellige studio. Van het vormen van klei tot het stoken van de oven, ik heb mijn passie gevonden in het maken van unieke stukken aardewerk die anderen vreugde brengen. Buiten mijn studio draait mijn wereld om mijn familie. Mijn vrouw en onze twee zonen zijn mijn grootste cheerleaders, altijd bereid om een handje te helpen of te delen in de opwinding van een nieuw project. En ik moet zeggen dat mijn jongens volkomen natuurtalenten zijn als het gaat om het werken met klei. Het is zo geweldig om te zien hoe hun creativiteit een vlucht neemt.

I am beyond happy with the four breakfast bowls I have bought! Abel even put effort into giving me different glazing options, which really gave a true feeling of bespoke pottery. They are so beautiful and I am almost sorry I didn’t buy more!

Abel is a talented and friendly potter and I’ve recently received my third order, a wonderful lidded jar, and it’s brilliant! The glaze, the form and the way the lid slips in are, as a pottery fan, so tactile.
On top of that the communication and personality I get from Abel is spot on. I’ll be back, looking at what you have on your virtual shelves, I’m sure.
