We spent a wonderful day in Essaouira, a beautiful and charming city, followed by an unforgettable experience in the Agafay Desert, where we spent a truly magical night. The quad biking and camel ride were great fun and perfectly organized.

We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover Morocco in an authentic and stress-free way!

The day began with a warm smile from our driver, Nourdin, who picked us up from our riad in Marrakech. His calm energy set the tone as we left the chaos of the medina behind. The ride was smooth and air-conditioned, with Moroccan music playing gently in the background and hints of the red desert beginning to creep into the horizon.

The real adventure kicked in as soon as we mounted our quad bikes. Dust clung to our clothes, the wind tugged at our helmets, and the rocky terrain of Agafay challenged every turn. I remember gripping the handles, my heart pounding, and laughing like a kid again. It wasn’t easy at first—but the guide was patient, and once I got the hang of it, I didn’t want to stop. The vastness of the landscape, with its undulating golden hills, made it feel like we were riding on the moon.

Then came a shift in pace—a peaceful camel ride led by the kind and gentle Youssef. He wrapped a soft blue turban around my head and helped me climb atop my camel, whom he fondly called “Sahara.” The swaying rhythm of the camel’s steps, the warm sun dipping lower, and the endless horizon made it feel like a surreal dream. It was one of those moments you want to pause and frame forever.

As the sun began to melt into the hills, everything turned gold. We reached a serene camp where the silence was broken only by the occasional rustle of wind and distant laughter. The setting for the agafay desert dinner show was breathtaking—low tables, lanterns flickering, and cozy cushions under a wide Berber tent. We were served fragrant tajines bubbling with spices, fresh bread still warm from the fire, and the sweetest mint tea I’ve ever tasted.

The evening came alive with gnawa music pulsing through drums, Berber dancers spinning in vibrant colors, and even a thrilling fire show that had everyone gasping and clapping. One local elder told a story by the fire in Arabic, and though I didn’t understand the words, the rhythm of his voice felt like poetry.

What surprised me most was the moment after dinner—just lying back on a cushion, looking up. No light pollution, just an endless black sky pricked with stars. A stillness so complete it filled something inside me I didn’t know was empty.

If you do this experience, bring a scarf for the quad ride dust, and a jacket for the desert chill at night. The toilets were clean (a relief!), and the staff throughout were thoughtful and attentive.

We are back from a wonderful trip in Morocco. We can talk about small tips that will make your trip more fun, but before that, the biggest tip - the driver Abdul. I got the recommendation for him from a lovely girl named Sharon who, at the point when I was lost and didn't understand who was against who, simply told me: "Take it, you won't be sorry." And she was right.
Some people prefer to drive alone. For us this is the second time we use a driver (we also did it in Thailand for a week). The roads are very long in Morocco and the amount of police officers is unimaginable. There is no doubt that a driver is a privilege that allows you to experience the trip in a much more relaxed way.
But it is important for me to clarify what made Abdul so successful.
At the planning stage - first of all he helped us plan a perfect trip and was very attentive to our needs. He added turist guides in the cities because he understood that we were interested in historical information, and reduced the topics he initially proposed that we didn’t care for Added more artisans when we wanted to see them at work and not just go to the places of the cooperatives. In general, he is very approachable and responds to every request at record speed. On the other hand, when we were with him on the trip, we didn't feel that his work on the "next client" was at our expense.

Flexibility on the fly - But, what was nice was that it adjusted itself on the fly as He learned our preferences. For example, he realized before we explicitly said that we were missing a nature trip and added one for us. He understood what kind of food liked and indeed we did not fall in any restaurant with him. And in places that were a little less successful, he took responsibility and did everything to improve
Emotional intelligence - in advance, it was not an easy trip. We traveled just the two of us and the driver. But he managed to navigate the situation wisely. Both to provide personal space and to be present in exactly the right way. To begin with we both sat in the back. At meals, most times he just disappeared and left us to ourselves. And the music he played on the way was fun and not annoying. We had deep conversations and silly chatter just in measure, he provided information along the way and always seemed to have something to add and enrich and he kept quiet and left us to our own in a really natural way. Even when we invited him to join us in some cases or there was a special place he ordered for us interesting food it did not set a precedent. There was no feeling that "you have to pay for it".
We didn't feel for a moment that he was impatient. We didn't feel that he "unloaded" us at the hotels and disappeared.
Driving - he is simply an excellent driver, the journeys are long and the hours in the car are many. He drives calmly and confidently. A white line in Morocco is not even a recommendation for maintaining a lane and at the same time, he did not take any risks and did not take a reckless detour even once. In the desert in the dunes it was really fun and I say this as someone who has driven quite a lot in the dunes and does not enjoy sitting in the back.

Hotels - Abdul chose great places in terms of location and also in terms of the Moroccan experience. I prefer not to elaborate because part of the pleasure is the moment you put yourself in the hands of a person like Abdul, you can afford to be surprised and excited.
We finished the trip with a feeling of "must go back" and it is clear to both of us that we would love to go on another trip with him.

Kicked off the trip from Casablanca to Marakesh. I Morroco tours is managed by Abdul and he was an amazing tour guide. Not to mention, he speaks fluent english! So there were no languange barriers.
