Indian Summer Sunday BuffetWent to Indian Summer in Westerham for…

Went to Indian Summer in Westerham for Sunday buffet for 6 adults. Staff very accommodating and starter was extremely good and tasty. However not one single dish on the main buffet was even vaguely like a curry. Very runny and meat not marinated just covered in a red looking sauces. The lamb or mutton was dreadful and stringy with no taste. Very disappointed. Only for people who know nothing about Indian food

Each dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s passion for Indian cuisine. The chicken tikka was juicy and marinated to perfection, and the spice levels were just right. I was particularly impressed by the vegetable korma, which was a beautiful medley of seasonal veggies in a rich, creamy sauce. The hospitality was exceptional, with our server checking in regularly to ensure we were satisfied.

Don't bother

Many other Indian restaurants in the surrounding area are better, without the gimmicks, we went for a traditional Indian meal, but looking at the menu, it could have been copied from any other fast food restaurant.

Indian Summer East Street Brighton

Indian Summer East Street Brighton.
Speaking as a foodie I could not fault the food or service. Being that we were a party of 10, the food arrived together, everyone's food was hot. After a selection of starters to share, (recommended) all were so delicious.
As a main I had the most delicious Lamb Briyani, with plenty of tender lamb. The right blend of spices, Devine. The whole party enjoyed each meal. Each complementing the flavour of the food. Of which i was pleased, as i had made the booking.
I could not fault the food.
The very idea of having desserts that were GF, astounds me, how many restaurants cater for Celiacs? i had no room for dessert although the few that did were delighted.
I see that others have given a bad review. I honestly have no idea how or why they should. Perhaps from a local Indian Restaurant that are trying to accumulate extra customers. Oh yes that happens.
This is a gem of a restaurant, I certainly will be back very soon.

It is the most authentic indian with imaginative dishes this side of England. Menu and a taste bud exhilaration you wont regret. Its going strong a year later it opened and we couldnt wait to come back for a dinner again! The lassi's are rich and tasty as are all the Veg dishes. Recommend trying all if you can. Thankyou to knowledgeable staff who really are super trained.

Monsoona, Bridge Street, Aberdeen. Excellent meal if a bit expensive.

Visitrd Monsoona Indian Restaurant, Bridge St. Aberdeen.
Very friendly staff and clean, fresh decor.
Our group enjoyed a delicious two course meal and finished off with coffee.
The dips were tasty as were the pakoras and prawn purees. Both were crisp and mouthwatering.
The mains were excellent, juicy, tender, tasty and full of flavour.
Service was provided with a smile and we all really enjoyed our meals.
We paid £145 for our two courses plus a bottle of wine and two whiskies.
The meal was excellent but the cost was rather pricey.

i will not recommend this restaurant, making fool people by using indian cuisine name just to attract customers, don’t know anything about indian cuisine, we ordered food there daal , mashroom and chpaati it was takeaway and we opened food after reaching hotel it was horrible chapati was totally uncooked. and when we went back to show them food staff and manager as well like it okay what’s the problem they very rude service as well. don’t go that place and don’t waste ur money except going there if u want to enjoy indian food (real taste of india ) go to Maharaja restaurant it serve u actual taste of india at ur visit to newquay. don’t go there they are just using indian name to run restaurant

Great Restaurant for the Whole Family…

I went to Indian Summer with family over the Christmas period and it was absolutely delicious. I had the tandoori paneer to start which was succulent and juicy. My sister in law had the pakora so we shared. Her starter was also really tasty. Both were very plentiful too. For mains I went with the vegetarian Thali, which allowed me to taste a lot of different dishes. It contained a variety of different vegetarian dishes, plus rice, roti, pickles, a delicious salad and a poppadom. I was too full for pudding but my sister in law had the mango brûlée which was AMAZING! Wine was a really nice Gruner Veltliner (my favourite). The guys had pork ribs, meat Thali (extra spicy and gluten free for my husband). They both loved it!! They both said it was so tasty and my husband was so happy that he could have gluten free. The children were blown away with the ribs and were quiet for the whole time we were there so that’s a testament to the food (and an achievement might I say so well done Indian Summer). We will 100% be returning.

Underwhelming experience at best

Underwhelming experience at best. Gourmet prices, but I'm afraid it's definitely not gourmet food, and I've eaten in a lot of North Indian, South Indian and Bengali restaurants. After reading all the rave reviews I thought I would take my wife here, as we're pure vegetarians' and lovers of Indian cuisine. Extremely limited menu. Okay, too much on the menu can be too much and overwhelming, but too little is, well, just so, so limiting. I saw at least two couples and an Indian family who came in, looked at the menu and left. Don't believe the hype here people.

Some of these 'positive' reviews' seem to me like there's some 'in house' skull duggery going on here. The food is mediocre and definitely more suited to the western palate. Although the owner loves to point out that all his return customers are Indian or Pakistani, lol.

We had the paneer starter which was okay but nothing special and it definitely didn't blow me away. We both had the vegetarian thali which was tiny as far as other thalis I've had. The best part of the thali by far was the butter paneer, but still only three pieces of paneer, and the roti was okay, but still not really much to write home about. It's not awful but it definitely doesn't have any wow factor to it.

As we're both T total, my wife had a lemonade, normal size glass and I had a raspberry puree lemonade which I have could have downed in one gulp. As it cost £8.50 it was ridiculous and tbh it seemed like a child sized drink. The best part of the meal for both of us was ironically the dessert which wasn't at all a typically Indian dessert. Chocolate mousse with cardamon cream and a short cake biscuit dusted in icing sugar. Very tasty and beautifully presented. My wife also loved the dessert as well, but like me she was really underwhelmed with the meal.

The positives were the ambience and the Italian guys on the front of house definitely made the evening, that's why I tipped them a tenner before we left, although the Italian waitress made a faux pas as she leaned across my wife's meal while she was still eating to pick up my wife's empty lemonade glass. That's a real 'no no ' in any restaurant. Whoops! So, I paid £87.00 for a mediocre Indian meal. I know that the service charge was included, but the staff were so nice I wanted to give them a cash tip. Plus I left still feeling a little hungry.

Looking back now, and hindsight is a wonderful thing, I read back on the negative reviews and you can see for yourselves how arrogant, rude and sarcastic the owner of Indian Summer comes across to those that don't leave a favourable review. No apology whatsoever, only one for the food being late. No sincerity here from the owner who could at least humbly apologies and ask "how can we make it up to you? Please on your return we'll give you a discount."
Or "Thank you so much for your feedback, how can we improve? All suggestions welcome." Just some cocky attitude which isn't really befitting of an owner of a 'gourmet' restaurant. I don't know? Maybe I've been spoilt? For as far as really decent Indian cuisine goes, I grew up in Southall, West London, affectionally know as 'the little Punjab (proper Indian innit!) (Jokes) and have been a part of the Hare Krishna community for forty years and have tasted so many sumptuous preparations.

That said, I have eaten in a very famous restaurant in Drummond Street in London where the food is pukka! Everything from North to South Indian cuisine and everything in between. Me and my wife have left that restaurant fully stuffed, without being able to eat another morsel and rolling down the street! All for around £55.00!

If I do return to Indian Summer, I'll give it a couple of years. One time when I'm next in Brighton, maybe? Let's see what response I get from the lovely owner :) In summary, basically there's nothing here at the 'gourmet' Indian Summer that you really can't get from your local take away for a third of the price and I guarantee that it'll be a whole filling and a whole lot tastier! ;) Trust!
