4 stars because the credit has to be done ONLY online. I was at Frankurt filliale and i was inform that they don't recive loan request in a meeting, just online, don't understant why.
ING Diba is extremely inflexible and anchored in old times. They are not a digital bank, they many times rely on physical paperwork to communicate.
Moreover, they have repeatedly ignored my simple questions.
I do not recommend it at all, especially if you are moving outside of Germany.

I have been an ING customer for 20 years, but my recent experience forces me to share this criticism. In April, I moved to another EU country from Spain and notified ING about my change of physical residence. Despite sending them countless documents: work contract, residence certificate, and more, I faced a real bureaucratic nightmare. Constant emails, endless calls, and even then, they threatened to block my account without notice.
The worst has come at the beginning of July: suddenly, without legal or operational justification, ING blocked part of my transactions and even my credit card while I was outside of Spain! Although my payroll is still domiciled with them, I don't have access to my own money! It is very difficult to communicate with them by phone and no one seems to want to take responsibility. They simply say that an alert seems to have been generated in the system, but they don't know why.
This treatment is unacceptable. ING should be held accountable for the disruption and DAMAGE they cause to their customers in this way. As a long-time customer, I expected much more. Be careful trusting ING to manage your money abroad!

It was my first bank in Germany, and as a civil engineer, I would really recommend it to everyone. I came to Germany in 2021, and since then I have been using ING Bank for my most important contracts.
I applied for a Credit before 3 weeks, sent all requested documents but still no response, can’t track my application status and even couldn't connect their Customer care after trying several time's :(

It is impossible to reach to the customer service. It has been the fourth time that they sent me one time password and I wasn't able to use it for no reason! They blocked my access to my app and digital banking and with calling still I cannot reach them at all. It has been over a month that I cannot access to my account. Don't open a ING DIBA account. They don't answer the emails within the five days as it is written on their website. I sent an email a month ago explaining all the details and I spoke to the customer service at least 7-8 times and still they are not solving my problems! Probably they will comment on this complaint and tell me to contact them via phone but I am wondering how else I can contact them with the phone

I recently opened my bank account with ING DE and the customer service has been absolutely disastrous so far. From their inability to provide me with a RIB in German for my employer, for some obscure reasons, (they sent me an English one in the post, even though I speak to them always in German and my employer is also a German company) to randomly locking me out of my internet banking just before the bank holiday tomorrow (1.5.2024). Catastrophic. I will be closing my account and moving elsewhere.
Update: just when i thought it could not get any worse: I called the ING "customer service" just now, and after 10 minutes waiting, at 2.5.20024, 15:51, the ING person hanged up on me the moment she heard me. So I waste my time, money, ING blocks my account, my Direktdepot - my shares account, my card, they ask me to call them and they don't even want to talk to me. This is absolutely despicable. I should have known better though, already when I was trying to open the account, I was put through some king of outsourced identification service, 4 people were put on the camera, 3 of them were talking to a colleague, laughing and they just ended the verification calls. Only 5th person, an older German gentleman was helpful and actually "verified" me. I thought that it was a strange experience but didn't dwell on it. Little did I know that my troubles with ING.DE were only starting. When dealing with this bank I feel like I am in some novel from Kafka. This is such an atrocious service. If anyone reads this, my reccomendation is to steer clear from this institution, unless you desire to experience something similar.
Update 2: waiting times to reach ING.DE on the phone are 20 minutes, at least, in the afternnon now. And you are paying for the call without even knowing if you will get to talk to someone. Bravo.

Worst onboarding ever. Didn't Sent the identification request to my partner, had to chase it up. Nothing happened for 10 days after application. A few calls with the Hotline, Noone willing to help. And then the application gets rejected without even being asked a single question. Poor customer service

I have been trying to open a bank account for more than a month now. After 20+ days of waiting, they sent me a letter by post to verify my information—a letter I wouldn't have known was coming if I hadn't emailed them. I verified the information, and now it's been almost a week without any reply, extending the entire bank account opening process to over a month. I have called them and sent them emails to inquire about the process, but they simply do not respond. If a bank account is needed quickly, I highly recommend considering a different bank. Their customer service is really bad.

The worst bank you can think of. They let me pay multiple years of bank fees and overdraft charges for an account that was never used. Then they canceled it and asked to get €450 in fees. I would have expected to get any notification. I cannot recommend it!

Installed the ING Banking to Go app on my new phone and could not be verified so I have requested a one-time password to activate the Banking to Go app via post. It has now been over TWO weeks!? and I have still not received the letter. Tried to call the service team phone but all you get is a machine and nothing else. I have contacted the customer service team via email since this is a VERY URGENT matter and they take several days to reply back and when they do, they reply with just one paragraph sentences. Each time I reply to the ticket several days go by again and I get another one paragraph reply offering absolutely no solution to my extremely urgent issue and no one has contacted me to help. Up until now I feel abandoned as a customer and with the feeling that there is no customer service team for this bank at all and that there are no real humans working there. What is going on?? I need someone to actually help me! This may be the last straw for me...I am seriously considering closing my account following this terrible experience.

How much time do they need to reply to a ticket? I opened a request via their form some days ago and no one responded after 5 days. They opened my account very fast, but when it comes to solving an issue, I feel like they take forever. For now, it looks like they disappeared to me.
