When you put your money in an online bank, you find yourself at the mercy of a phone operator that just don't care to help you. Sadly that's been my experience with this bank; poor customer service with absolutely no empathy has convinced me to look at other options.

Many thanks for your service over the last 6 years. In 2015, my Finanzberater recommended you for my mortgage. I was a little nervous as it was an online bank without face to face interaction.
But over the years, I have hardly missed the need for direct , personal contact. The online service has worked very well and all questions, clarifications are handled professionally and with quick response times.
As of last week, I have paid back my mortgage to ING-Diba. It was good to receive a letter and a thank you note back from you.
Well done. Keep up the good services.

For a long time, I've been very happy with ING. Only after needing their help, I realized how bad their service can be. My card got charged illegally while staying in a foreign country. I was naive and thought my bank will protect my funds since I paid with the ING Visa card. After contacting them several time through the website help form and emails, all I managed to get is a copy-paste response telling me I should go talk to whoever charged my card. I also tried calling - after 30min of waiting I was told I should send an email, after sending an email, I was told to use the online form. Finally, I tried the online form which was a chatbot telling me I should call customer service. Seems to me like the customer service policy is to exhaust the customer until they give up. Do yourself a favor and find a bank with better customer service.

I’m considering to switch everything to ING since they are so fast and efficient. I request a credit online and it was done super easily in couple of days.
Contacted the bank regarding Internet fraud that I unfortunately was a victim of and ING responded with the minimum of fuss and returned my money. In addition they also stopped in the first instance a very substantial withdrawl due to the suspicious nature so am doubly thankful.
Worst experience with the bank!
Someone got my data, my IBAN, and used it for buying stuff and also got my address and complete data, I wanted to delete my account and be issued a new one, but the customer support showed no understanding of my case... I have tried to talk to 5-6 people and no one was able to help me, so I am changing the bank right now, my data was not safe here.

I gave 1 because i wasn't able to give 0. The worst customer response i have ever seen. The account opening itself is taking so much time - due to this i missed the salary for a month itself.
When asking to download my transactions, they told me the only way to get more than one year of movements, is to go to the correspondence and download the pdfs. You will need to process individually and there is no way for you to access your information.
So beware that you will loose your data, or spent hours trying to extract the transactions from random pdfs.
Their GDPR or data privacy pages do not work or are missing, so no way to download your data in an electronic format.
We successfully financed our house with ing.de.
The bank was fair, the rates were low and we have never had any problems with or concerns about this bank.
So we can unreservedly recommend this bank.
This review is based on the customer service only. My banking experience otherwise, is mostly issue free.
I am able to manage my account, make transfers and payments all via the app. But to speak to an actual human being I need a separate pin.
When you call without the pin, you will be caught in a verification loop within the automated telephone system which, if you don't have the pin, will keep asking for the pin. It will offer you the option to go away and look for the pin, but it won't offer you the option to receive a new pin until some time later. This is incredibly frustrating.
Compared to other banks, this system is terribly outdated. Besides, you don't tend to call your bank unless you have something you need assistance with. Meaning you will be stuck without assistance for however long it takes, for the new pin to arrive.
Avoid ING you Can t trust them,ING is not reliable and doesn t care of customers.

When I moved abroad it took me 2 years of email battle to get access to my account, why? I didn't have my old number and they were suspicious that I had moved countries. I wrote long emails, asked for support, explained my situation. They ended up blocking my account and it took months to get access and someone to listen to me. Horrible experience.
I am having a really bad experience with this bank. They constantly take money out of my account and now I am trying to transfer my money into anther account and the app won't let me do that. I want to delete my account, but it won't work either. When I try to login on my computer it always shows a page where I am supposed to open the app and press some button to login but that does not work either. Overall a very bad experience, would not recommend this bank to anyone. They are very inefficient and don't do anything to help me.

This bank in germany is just horrible!
My wife and me both had an account and one shared account. Suddenly we received two letters with a cancellation of both our shared account and the one from my wife.
First of all: We contacted them, which is always a pain in the ass, since without a freaking "telebanking pin" you cannot talk to anyone. Once you reach them no one speaks english and you have to wait again in a different line. If you're lucky enough they just hang up. Then asking for the freaking telebanking pin is not as straight forward as they describe it online - again horrible. What else? The bot you're talking to cannot take any voice message even though it offers it. And instead of forwarding you to someone that can help you the bot at some point makes their fault, your responsibility and guess - the both hangs up. Are you serious ING?
Second: After that pain in the ass mentioned above I decided to reach out to them via E-Mail. They answered that we didn't reply on whether my wife really lives with me and that she didn't send a Meldebescheindigung. What in the ***? I never needed to send my back a Meldebescheindigung and had to prove where I live. Shes spanish, yes, but can we not be discriminating here?
In the end ING wanted to take the cancellation back since we did never receive some letters and once we would have send them the Meldebescheinigung, but we then decided that we don't want to have any business with them anymore. Its nothing but rude and discriminating. And since it's a dutch bank, you could imagine that there might be english speakers on their hotline. Nope - don't be silly.
On top of everything: The Cancellation date was the 1. of September. The 2nd of September they charged us 4,90 Euros for not having any cash flow going. Excuse me? Of course I take out all my money in August if you cancel in September? What are you guys thinking? And now again this pain with the hotline... will see if we will receive anything back from those 4,90 Euros...
I was a long time with ING any always happy with their App and everything. Suddenly they decided to be completely inappropriate towards their customers. Sorry.
