A great company who were really, really helpful when I needed a colour matched in a lime wash finish. The colour match was very accurate and the paint very good quality. Recommended
Nightmare barn paint !…
Purchased some barn paint last year after reading the reviews we found a colour we liked in another brand so asked if it could be matched.. 1st lot of paint was nothing like it ..nor was the second ended up mixing 2 colours together to try get a colour we wanted a brown and ended up with a very pale green ..
After spending most of last summer rubbing down and sanding and painting after a few months the paint started cracking and now this year it's cracking peeling and blistering ..
We have no choice now but to rub down and repaint with another well known brand very disappointed with this company !!!
Tallow Bound Limewash
I was advised to use IngibysTallow Bound Limewash after some pargetting work I did last summer was saturated with driving rain which then froze and cracked the panel so badly I had to remove it.I have now replaced it with Tallow Bound Limewash which acts like Gortex.I have already noticed the water just forms beads on the surface and does not soak into the lime Obviously my problem has occurred many times in the past and this wonderful product appears to be the solution.
Great products and service

Ingilby Paints provided an excellent service. They did not have the charcoal grey colour that I wanted, so they mixed it and it was the perfect colour. I used the chalk furniture paint on top of a generic grey primer (although this wasn’t necessary, but I wanted to make sure I had enough top coat to finish the job). The paint went on smoothly and 1 litre covered 6 dining chairs with some to spare. I also used the finish coat to protect and give a modern durable finish. ( I applied with a sponge as I wanted a light coat smooth finish ). Would highly recommend the paint and the company.

What wonderful paint this is!
What wonderful paint this is! Our house is a listed property with quite a lot of externally exposed wood (window frames, half timbering, etc.). Some of the previously applied black paint clearly had a modern petrochemical base, and was peeling and flaking off in small thin sheets of various size, and with some damage in places where the modern paint acted like plastic wrap preventing the wood from drying. A section on heritage paints in The Listed Property Owners' Club magazine helped convince me to try a linseed-oil based paint when repainting. I obtained excellent service from Ingilby over email from the start, and appreciated the small minimum order size (just 1 litre) to be able to give it a try. The paint was delivered without any fuss by Royal Mail, in a well secured, clip-sealed tin.
Now imagine the experience that followed. You open the lid of the paint tin ... reflexes prepare you to recoil from the shot of solvent fumes, but instead you are drawn in by the distant memory of the smell of linseed oil, a memory sitting hazily between old paint brushes in a long-since demolished shed, and oiling a new cricket bat as a child. Then there's the sight ... a thick luscious creamy consistency, not a runny liquid. It doesn't slosh around the tin, and you're not worried it will evaporate faster that you can apply it. You brush it onto the wood, and instantly you know you're doing something good for the timber. While modern paints cover and hide the wood, the linseed paint seeps oil-like slightly into the surface layers, retaining and accentuating the fine patina of the wood, yet still achieving the full depth of colour because of its thick, luscious consistency. It spreads easily and seamlessly across bare wood, islands of remaining old paint, sanded wood-filler repairs, metal pipework, and plastic trunking - it covers them all. Concerns about whether the paint would appear thin, or fail to adhere, or take forever to dry, all vanish. It looks stunning. It looks like wood --- well-cared-for wood. The preparation was simple, and the price really was about the same as for modern petrochemical paints, and probably less in the long term once longer life (and less time painting) are considered. There is no going back! Do your house a favour, and make the switch to linseed oil based paints for the exterior timber … and anything else in its vicinity. Ingilby will see you right!
Perfect.
Good, quick, reliable service. Paint is reliable and of good quality also. No complaints, everything fine.

Fantastic service and product
Ingilby paints are a rarity- not only do they produce superb paints but have expert knowledge about their product and its application. The depth of colour that you achieve is amazing which can only be down to using quality pigments. The turn around, having once placed your order is very quick and the staff are friendly and helpful. I have been an antique restorer and upholsterer for 30 years and firms that that supply quality product and have an in depth knowledge of their product are hard to find. I highly recommend Ingilby.

Absolutely fantastic paint
Absolutely fantastic paint. I was able to turn a dark, old, dated wardrobe into a beautiful shabby chic masterpiece. Used one coat of primer and two coats of the chalk paint. I still have 3/4 of a tin left because it goes on so thick and perfectly. I look forward to buying different colours!!

THE BEST CHALK PAINT BY FAR....Having …
THE BEST CHALK PAINT BY FAR....Having tried the perceived top 4 or 5 chalk paints available to the general public then having tried Ingilby chalk coat there is no comparison. This product glides onto to bare wood or coated surfaces with little or no preparation, the paint has the appearance and texture of double cream and the application is therefore smooth and easy. There is little or no odour (as opposed to one of the most popular chalk paints which has an odour that I find unpleasant), the drying time is amazing and the Finish Coat used after the Chalk Coat has dried is by far the best I have ever tried. Going forward Chalk Coat is the product I will use every time I paint furniture and other objects, painting cheap plastic tubs for the garden look so much more expensive. An added bonus the Chalk Coat does not bother my Asthma or Chronic Pulmonary Disease, (obviously I cannot speak for the Asthma community as a whole) The only issue I have is that the writing on the tins is so small, change this to accommodate older eyesight and Ingilby Paints will deserve a 5 +++

Amazing service and product.
Amazing service and product.
Our "Professional" painters had turned up with normal paint. We knew we had to have breathable as its a timber listed building. I contacted Ingilby and explained. They had 20 litres of Pozilime paint mixed and ready to collect within two hours. The colour once settled is the perfect match.
Price is half what the "Professional" painters would have paid trade.
Also very helpful when we required guidance on application
Highly recommended
