I am really enjoying wearing these and have just completed a 20 mile outing with no issues. They are a good fit and a comfortable wear and do seem to deliver a more comfortable experience over bigger miles. The price is fair for what you get. My only criticism is I would prefer a lower key colour scheme as all three options are bold!

Trailfly have been my go to for all my Ultras and they just keep getting better First more toe room to really fit my feet and now more cushion with the Max The first thing I noticed was the cushioning I had on the downhills

I used to use Invo8 more about 10 years ago, but then Inov8 seemed narrowing width, so I switched my shoes to Altra, but they don't last well. I always wish if Inov8 make a wider width shoes and seems it came true now! These shoes are ideal for fans of Altra Lone Peak or Olympus who are seeking a slight variation in drop differential. I bought a wide width version for a 100-mile race, hoping to find a better alternative to Altra Olympus, and these shoes might just be it. I took them on a 16-mile trail run, and so far, they’ve performed well and seems long last than Altra shoes. Previously, Altra was my only choice(Hoka 4E is still narrow for me) , but now Inov8 Wide has become a viable option for me. I wish they would offer a 0 drop version as well(they might have!) One drawback is that they don’t provide a 30-day return policy like Altra does. As you may know, it’s hard to determine if new shoes will work for you until you hit the trails, but with Inov8, returns aren’t allowed after use. A few years ago, I ended up selling 2 of my Inov8 pair after just a few miles. Because although they felt good initially, they gave some issues during my trial run. I tried to address the isseus, but could not. In my opinion, the policy is one of the reason Inov8 is not so popular in USA. Anyway, the policy doesn't hurt the shoe quality. So 5 stars.

The Trailfly Max were incredibly comfortable and quality pair of trainers straight out the box. Took a bit of a gamble getting them for a 100km Ratrace up in Scotland just before the race, but it paid off. They coped well in all terrains- from boggy forests to Rocky Mountains thanks to the grippy soles. What I love about Inov8 is the wide toe box option for all their running shoes- no other manufacturer I know does that. The wide toe box meant they were very comfortable from the start with no blisters, bruises or rubbing. The slightly thicker cushioned sole on the trailfly max made running more comfortable on this ultra and didn’t feel like it added any significant weight to the shoe. Also really helpful and responsive customer service who were happy to double check for me that the shoes were in good condition and that they arrived in time for my race. It would be cool if there were a few other colour options for the shoes- I initially chose the ‘heatmap’ blue and red ones, but they were a bit too funky for me!!! Ended up with the grey and red which I think look ok. However their performance and comfort which are the more important criteria get a double thumbs up from me. Thanks Inov8!

Really pleased with this shoe, just done the Springtide 50k in them, very comfortable with great energy return and grip. Love the wide toe box. Really pleased 👍
