Nice fit for me, shoe feels comfortable. Experienced a defect after just 40 km's, the sole was coming undone from the shoe itself. Since I have never had this issue before with any of my previous pairs of Inov8 I'm going to file this under a one-off. A replacement pair was shipped just days after reporting the issue to Inov8, a very quick resolution.

I had two prior pairs of INOV8 trail shoes - different model. They were standard fit and I busted through them over time in the forefoot area. I ordered wide fit and sized up for these and they were actually tighter than my prior pairs. I returned them. The process was somewhat tedious with having to submit multiple pictures of the shoe before returning. I will not purchase another pair online - perhaps if I chance by a store that carries them, allowing for fit before purchase.

Bought the trailfly speed as a winter shoe as I run mostly fire roads and woodland paths so wanted a bit of extra grip. The shoes are light and the fit is great for my big wide feet. Went with the same size as my roadfly shoes and the fit is the same for my 13 wide fit. The lower stack is noticeable on tarmac but not so much on the trails. The grip is great even through a few muddy parts which I know the shoe is not really designed for. Would like the laces to be a few inches longer as there's not much spare when using the heel lock. Overall very happy anf if they last as well as my previous inov8 shoes they will be great value for money especially at the black friday price!

Had my pair for a few months now. I do a lot of running on rocky mountain paths, some muddy trails and coastal areas/beaches - so exactly what these shoes should be good at. Decent shoe - unfortunately not as good as the previous generation of inov8's shoes (I had trailtalons 235). They are bulkier, heavier and the fit isn't as snug. Something about the laces and heel cage mean that I can't get them to feel locked in, they alternate between too tight and too loose. The slight extension on the heel means that they often come loose running through a patch of mud, because the shape really digs into the mud - can live with it, but never happened with any other inov8 shoe I've had. Feel more like a road to trail shoe than a nimble and rugged trail shoe. I took the speed model as well hoping for a nice fast feel, but they're 50% heavier than the trailtalons! Overall a good shoe, but I wouldn't buy another pair, whereas I would have kept buying the trailtalons v3 for the rest of my life, I will wear these out, and then hope there are still existing pairs of the older shoes available. The build quality is very good, and definitely an ok, usable shoe, I'll probably be doing some races in them - it's just the design has taken a step back compared to previous models in my opinion.

Great fit. Reasonable traction. I want to love them but they feel a bit clunky and dead under foot. There’s also a strange bit of arch support that’s placed too far back and just feels weird. This upper and sole with a better midsole might be magic. Let’s hope V2 delivers improvements.

Super happy these came in a wide! Very comfortable and flexible. They're probably on the lighter end and less bulky than most trail shoes but that's what I wanted. Perfect for my needs of weight, flexibility, and wide width.

Purchased as replacement for Trailtalon 235 which is an epic shoe and I wish they still made them. For context I'm 6'2", 14 stone, foot length 290mm and normally take UK 11.5 in running shoes. Tend to do run 45-60min on mixed off road terrain. GOOD: Wide toe box and foot-shaped last; relatively small amount of cushioning for a non-barefoot shoe; stretchy, breathable material; sole design seems good for trail running. BAD: Sizing is weird, 11.5 leaves no room for foot to lengthen during running (particularly if wearing thicker socks, but size 12 is much longer). The outsole is much wider than the insole so the midsole flares out, making the shoes unnecessarily bulky and cumbersome. The shoes feel much more cushioned than the Trailtalon 235, some people may like this but the ground-feel is less. The 'boomerang' insoles are bouncy and reduce ground-feel further. The colour schemes are eye-searing. In short, I really wanted to love these but have had to return and look elsewhere (Altra).

I’ve had some great runs in these shoes, up to about 10 miles they really shine. They are light, fast and inspire confidence. That said, after a rather long wait for them to be delivered, there was damage on the top from what looked like a snag on the fabric. On my first run, the insoles started creeping their way out at the heel which was quite annoying. I used a few drops of strong adhesive to hold them in place. I wouldn’t do a trail race longer than about 15k in these but for speed work on the trails, they are really impressive. I do wish shoe companies would offer half sizes in the larger sized shoes. I

Excellent grip, even on steep wet tarmac or steep wet grass, unlike studded fell running shoes which can be like ice skates on those surfaces. Very confidence-inspiring shoes. I would say they are on the 'barefoot' end of the spectrum as the footbed is quite thin and you can really feel and get feedback from the surface you are running on, fortunately without the sharp stones poking through as the sold does seem really tough and robust. Also hardwearing are the rubberised heel, toe and sidewall buffers, while the rest of the upper is light and breathable. I am really chuffed with these shoes, and have been waiting for a wide fit size 14 for many years so thanks, innov8!
