I love these shoes! They are super grippy on the trail and have helped my feet get mre comfortable in wider toe shoes. I would give them 4 stars however my heel comes out the back of the shoe and it rubs my heel raw just ever so slightly. Otherwise great product and well made!

I wear size 8 in the city but for multi-week/month hikes my feet grow as much as 1.5 sizes. I only wore Terraventure Topos for my recent 2025 AT thru hike and while extremely comfortable, lightweight, and minimalist profile, they're not very durable. The front rubber and top fabric begin detaching and forming a hole within the first 100 miles. Their lifespan is 500-600 miles for me but this includes replacing the inserts and duct taping the entire front. I heard about Inov8 a while ago and read numerous reviews about how more durable they are so I decided to try theTrailFly Speed (which I think are V1). I ordered size 9 in wide so I'd be ready for swelling and growth during my Colorado Trail thru hike this year. Unfortunately, this size was very snug with thin socks and with feet at their smallest. I returned them and found another retailer that had the same ones in size 10. The original purchase & return was directly from the site, and I did have to pay $7.50 for the return shipping. They emailed me to let me know they didn't have a size 10 and whether I wanted different shoes or a full refund. So that spoke well about their customer service. The size 10 felt instantly perfect with midweight darn tough socks. I never owned size 10s before, so this was surprising. I took them on an 80 mile test hike in the Smoky Mountains. The feel of the shoes is exactly what I love about the topos: low profile, minimalist construction, wide toe box, enough ground feel with enough protection, decent grip on wet rocks, lightweight, intuitive movement. What was better than Topos was their ability to drain water after wading rivers. Just tilt them forward and water rushes out! They would be nearly dry by nightfall. At the end of my trip I had zero hot spots, zero blisters and every bit of the shoes is still in one piece. No degradation whatsoever. Full disclosure, I replaced the inserts for Z-liner insoles as they promise amazing energy return. So, I have not worn the Inov8 shoes with their original inserts. They passed the test with flying colors and they will take me thru the CT this year. Customers just be aware that they run small!

I ordered these in the wide size and they fit my extra wide feet! Inov8 is the only running shoe company who's wide sizes fit me. I wear a size 10 and my foot is 101.6mm wide. Their size chart says 100mm wide for the size 10 wide and it fits me. I am sooo grateful for their wide shoes!! Anyways, the shoe is pretty comfortable on rocky trails and roads. It is not very cushioned but it gives a close to the ground, responsive feel. I will repurchase these when the one's I have are worn out. Thank you Inov8 for your wide sizes! You are a blessing for us wide footed gals.
