If you haven't already, you can request an exchange to a larger size on our exchange portal as some customers find a half size up gives them a little extra space in the toe box. If not, you can request a refund and the team will process that for you.

I have run in Inov-8 shoes for trail running for several years. The TrailTalon replace my previous RocLites and seem to be pretty good on the first couple of runs. They don't feel as flexible as the RocLites but the grip and fit is very good. Maybe they will loosen up over time.

Don't usually go for highly cushioned inov8 running shoes, but led into temptation as offered in sale. Have to say super comfy, went for standard fit, but sized up half a size, as per usual for inov8 footwear. Will use these more for trekking than running, due to great comfort and support, looking forward to using them around the Wasdale hills this September.

I’m a female but always have to buy men’s wide fit because women’s wide fit are still too narrow (my and probably 1000’s of others feet - when flat on the floor - toes splay out). However, they are a nice fit and could benefit from half sizes. I am usually a 6.5 but always buy one size up when walking the hills and mountains for a long period because feet swell in the heat. Could only get a size 7 in these. Will see how they cope doing the west highland way. Comfortable and no blisters at all - yet!

Bought the TrailTalon Max for the Spine Challenger South. The cushioning, along with the 6mm lugs, made it an ideal shoe for the 108 mile race. The wide fit accommodated the inevitable swelling of my feet and I didn't need to change footwear.

Fantastic shoe, straight out the box ran a 28 mile trail race, comfortable, grippy and although cushioned enough for the road sections, still great ground feel and stability for the trails. 👍

Great shoe love the cushion and traction. My only criticism is the sizing. I’m 9.5 and I got this in a standard just seems big. Don’t get me wrong very comfortable but seems like the materials could be tightened up

I was only able to get in 10 miles before i realized i should have bought a half size up. Planning on returning and exchanging.
I have run countless trail races over all kinds of terrain and conditions since I was first introduced to INOV8 shoes in 2010. I always felt comfortable and secure in my footing in the Roclite 315 shoes. So when it came time for another new pair, I naturally turned to INOV8 once again. I read the marketing hype and reviews from testers and others and chose the TrailTalon Max. This past weekend was the first true test of this shoe during a hilly, single track, 50K race. Trail conditions were a bit dry but otherwise normal and as I expected as I have run and raced on these trails many times over the years. I noticed that the shoes were comfortably cushioned, but I really noticed that the shoes, for me, were unstable which made me uncomfortable and unsecure. I have narrow, size 11 feet and this may have contributed to the instability. Many times I rolled my foot though not enough to cause an injury or fall. The INOV8 shoes in the past felt like a part of my foot but not the TrailTalon. I will not be running further in these shoes. For these reasons and the high price, I only rate the shoes as a 3.

We are sorry to hear that you found the Trailtalon Max to be unstable. We do offer the Standard, Speed and Zero Trailtalon which have lower stack heights and a more responsive ground feel, so many one of those could work better for you.
