The new Standard shoe width is too wide for a standard fit - too much space at front of shoe than previous roclite style. Feels more bulkier than roclite. I am aware I am wearing a bulkier shoe with the new trail talon- perhaps I should have chosen a half size smaller than my usual inov8 shoe size. I've been wearing inov8's for nearly 20 years and I'm not convinced I'll buy them again. I still like the 6mm sole that is perfect - other brands inner sole arch is too high.

Easily the best trail runners I've used in my experience. I am on my third pair now and hope they don't get discontinued ever. My last pair have 500miles on them and I've used them throughout the winter mud and the baking hot summer. The tread still has plenty of grip but felt the midsole were ready to be replaced after that mileage. I find these particularly good on muddy trails although they have also given decent grip on dry stony paths too. The only criticism I have is that the heel cup is perhaps a little shallow which means in a summer weight sock I have to use a heel lock lacing technique but this was only a minor issue at the start. I’m a little disappointed with these trainers. I bought these as I have wide feet width E but these trainers are not quite wide enough for me. I wore these for a game of golf. They pinched a little. Compared to a different make these are just not quite wide enough.

I sized up but shouldn’t have ! They exchanged in record time with no fuss and my new pair fit perfectly! Super grippy, good and wide and pretty protective for the flinty trails we have around here with bumper areas at the sides of the front.

These are expensive shoes but I've worn them every day since they arrived (I walk about 6 miles a day) and they were comfortable from the very first outing. They are brilliant and very grippy on long or short grass, tarmac, gravel, rock, wet surfaces, earth, stones, sand and over big stiles. They are the perfect summer walking shoe for difficult or varied terrain. I don't run but they suit me just fine! Also they are easy to clean. They do size small - I read other reviews and bought a 7.5 (I would usually get a 6.5 or 7 max) and they are right for me. The toe box is really roomy without letting the shoe slop around on uneven terrain. I have worn my way through two or three pairs of Roclite 265s over the years but they seem to be difficult to get hold of now and the styles have changed quite a lot. They were my favourite all-round summer shoe of all time but these are a very good second. Last point: they are really great for dog agility! Very grippy and bouncy.

Really comfy. I like to wear toe socks so I bought the wide version and my toes are lovely and spread out. They feel a bit low on the ankle in comparison to other trail shoes I’ve had but when using the heel lock lacing, they don’t move a mm.

This would be a five star review but for the laces - the shoes are brilliant, the laces are terrible - never stay tied (even when triple knotted), too slippery and far too long for the size of shoe.

I've used this shoe on snowpacked hills, wet technical terrain, and a 21km obstacle course race without any slipping at all. Best grip ever. Crossing over hardpack or paved sections at faster paces, the shoe felt smooth and flexible and rolled along with ease. Wide size is exact to the millimeter. Upper fits like a comfortable glove with no pressure points or heavy seams. After more than 300km, the tread looks unused.
