VERY HIGH SERVICE FEES ON TOP OF MEMBERSHIP

They give "free" delivery but charge a service fee to cover the free delivery!!! DO NOT USE THEM. They outsource their customer service and they are trained to not be for the customer. TERRIBLE, they rob you of an opportunity to receive a discount on a later delivery, that $2 discount is no longer provided UNLESS they take it away from those who use it often!

First-time ordering

First-time ordering: Some items were out of stock, so I received a partial order. Great, now I have half the ingredients for dinner. I had to put on my shoes and go to another store after paying a service and delivery fee to Instacart.

I believe that if an item is not available, I should not be able to add it to my cart; that is on Instacart's end to fix. Taking my money for products they can't deliver is not right.

They said I will get my refund within 7-10 days. They took my money at the front, but now they need time to return it. I am out, never again. I cancelled that 14-day trial on the spot and removed my card from their app. I don't do business with crooks, and there are other options out there.

Order Cancelled

All of my items were shopped for. The shopper then cancelled my order. I now have to wait for a refund. I am disabled and live paycheck to paycheck. Left me with 3$ in my account and no groceries.

Placed order

Placed order, $89 worth, driver arrived and supposedly left my order outside lobby...I went out 1 minute later and nothing there! Not sure exactly what happened to my order but have a pretty good idea. Instacart has lost a customer. I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford to basically just throw away $89.

Let me just do it myself!

Instacart is supposed to provide a discount to members who receive SNAP. The discount is only for one year, and this does not help at all! When you reach out to customer service, they are rude and dismissive. Take the discount away if it's not going to actually help. I'm disabled, and I can't afford the regular membership price. If Walmart can give us a discount, what is the problem with Instacart???? And then you're paying all this money just for the in-store shoppers to give you replacements you didn't even ask for and don't match, or they're just nasty and deliver the order damaged or missing stuff... Orrrrr you might be lucky and get someone else's order. Let's not forget when you expect one person to deliver, and not only is it not them, but there's some unknown person with them!

Terrible serviceGreat Policy: Food Belongs on the Sidewalk and an absurd policy

Terrible service and an absurd policy. My food was left on the ground outside my office on a busy sidewalk, even though I was present and the office was open. Instacart’s response basically suggested that if you do not leave special instructions, it is acceptable to leave food on the floor. That is unhygienic, careless, and unacceptable.

This was a public, trafficked area, not a private hallway or enclosed residence. How is a customer supposed to know whether an animal came near the food or whether the area was contaminated? Food should never be left on the ground. Customer service ignored that basic fact and responded with policy excuses instead of common sense.

I had placed a order with instacart and…

I had placed a order with instacart and half of my items were missing. I contacted instacart via technical support online, and "Sameer" and he credited me for those items. However, in the middle of my additional question, I was somehow disconnected. I contacted them via phone to complain about the disrespect and again, I was disconnected. I have never been treated this rudely by a company. Instacart is not worth it. I will be using doordash or Uber from now on. They respect their customers

Overcharged and Ignored by Customer Servicesappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Instacart.
I ordered a packaged item (2ct Campari tomatoes on the vine) for $13.98, but instead received 2 loose tomatoes of much lower value. This is not an equivalent substitution—it’s a clear overcharge.
What’s worse is the customer service. I contacted support multiple times and only received copy-and-paste responses. My refund was denied without any real explanation, and there was no willingness to actually review the issue.
If you make a mistake, at least take responsibility. Charging customers for items they didn’t receive and then refusing a refund is unacceptable.
I won’t be using Instacart again.

Very poor guest service

Well first, they deliver items that either are past date or good for the next 1 or 2 days.
Then my delivery person stayed on the parking lot of the shop for 50 minutes before leaving to deliver : he had a problème with the car but never informed me during these 50 minutes + there was fresh food and meat in my order.
The fruits arrived crushed

I tried for a few days to signal the problem but the app is so shitty that nothing was working.
I was connected to my account and saw my order but the bot coulé not fine it therefore never connected me to an agent

When I ginally got an agent « it is too late for a refund »

lol if you had a proper guest service this would not happen

He just closed the chat

Won’t recommend at all.

The item was cheap it might be 6 dollars in total it is not the real problem
You don’t deliver items that are past date

If I could leave -5 Stars I would

If I could leave -5 Stars I would. We checked in to a condo with 2 small children under the ages of 5. Ordered groceries for the week and dinner for my wife and I. Thank God we fed the kids earlier. We waited for 2 hrs after our order was processed for the driver of our dinner order to say the restaurant was closed. We have now waited for 4 hours for our grocery order and the time keeps getting pushed back. I called support which took another 20 minutes. They called the driver and got no response. Close to 5 hrs invested now and have no food. Instacart and their support are the absolute worst in business. I would recommend never ordering for them and I truly hope they go out of business so no one else has to endure their poor service.

Instacart charged me DOUBLE my order…

Instacart charged me DOUBLE my order amount.. 250$ ! They insisted this was the standard ‘temporary authorization’ used to deal with additions to an order in progress. But it was the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the order. So 500 was frozen in my account from Friday to today, Monday evening and the funds are still not available in my account. Trying to get help just resulted in agents copy pasting a canned reply regarding the temporary hold policy. Trash customer service.

Horrible service.

Probably the worst delivery service out there. They were good about three years ago, and then I started experiencing really bad customer service. Shoppers taking way too long to shop a few items, or being evasive, or just being jerks. Stick to Ubereats, or other grocery delivery services. Instacart is horrible.

I had a horrible situation happen…

I had a horrible situation happen tonight. The shopper kept refunding things, replacing with expensive things. They never would respond to my messages. Then when they finally did respond, it was scary. Like the wording was combative and scary. Truly. I’m very scared they have my address. Instacart cancelled and refunded me, but were totally nonchalant about it. I asked to file a complaint. They said it was noted and he wouldn’t be my shopper again. I asked if Instacart would look at the messages and the order and investigate. And they were just like “well it’s in your file.” That’s is crazy scary that that’s it. When I googled about filing a complaint, it said I can file a safety report, but I clicked the link and it’s just for damages to property. That is just wild. I’m truly scared to ever use them again. And I have used them since 2020. I guess they just don’t care. Not really at all.

It's all about money when the person comes to deliver your belongings please make friends with them take there phone number and cut out instacart.Instacart don't even pay good for example u got a notification for a delivery it said 30$ eleven items 2 shoper one person want 10 items and the other person want 1 u accept it when u get there u notice the one item is out of stock this is what instacart will do without u even knowing lower the price to about 21$ and said the customer cancel so u have to drive for free , is this right?

Inappropriate

Last night, around 9:30pm, an instacart driver showed up at my house asking for my ID for alcohol purchased by the vacation rental across the street. This was apparently at the direction of the company to “find a neighbor” so he could deliver the alcohol. He even acknowledged that the house was a vacation rental and I probably didn’t know the people, but needed someone to provide ID so he could leave the alcohol for them. At a minimum, this is inappropriate but likely illegal. Because of this, I will never be an instacart customer.
