I love the fact that I have ink whenever I need it, and I find the price very competative. I would have awarded 5 stars, but the website is full of bugs and keeps crashing when I am trying to access... See more

Worst printer in my whole life.
I have tried hundreds of printer, but really HP is the worst company ever.
Once I have unsubscribe from HP instant Ink, all features (scan, printing and copy) became not working properly.
Just after unsubscribe.
This is not appropriate behaviour from an international company like this.

Replacement ink arrives too soon. Cartridges dry up and it is difficult to revive them.

I thought the Ink was very expensive at the time but almost a year later it's still not finished.

I bought a new HP printer, read the enclosed docs and enrolled in instant ink . Emails started immediately and I discovered I needed to stay connected to the Internet to use the instant ink program...not an option for me. The next day...less than 24 hours later, I cancelled my "subscription"only to have the 2 new ink cartridges arrive the following day! I have been trying to return these NEW FULL INK cartridges, but I get sent envelopes that clearly state EMPTY INK cartridges only. The chat option never is open, the phone says to go online, online is sales pitch and has no way to address the issue . So much for their recycle program

I have had the instant ink for over 1 and a half years. They have charged me over 5 dollars per month and only sent me ink 1 time. This past month I had to use my printer alot so they sent me an email saying that I went over my allowed amount of pages so they are charing me more on top of the ink that I never get. I called then to cancel since I could have just bought my own ink fir alot less and they tell me that once my subscription is canceled they will also prevent them rest of the ink that is in my printer from working and I will have to get new cartridges on my own from the store in order for my printer to continue working!!!! They are ripping people off. I would not sign up for this program. I asked speak to a supervisor and Iam now on hold for over 20 minutes. They just keep coming back to the line to tell me they are trying to find a supervisor 😒 terrible service and a big waste of money!!

I had to pay a balance with a new debit card, did so about2 wks ago and told the rep i did not want the service to please cancel my account. Today I see I was charged for service I did not authorize. I called and talked to rep and her supervisor, this credit is for $10.69, not a whole lot, but not authorized. I have been on hold for 32 minutes only to be told no, and by the way they said my name is Nancy and I copied 73 pages, that is not my name and my printer is out of ink so I have not make any copies. So beware someone else can copy and anyone can be billed for it apparently and you will not get your credit for their mistake.

What I am Complaining about is the waste of 2 Full Ink Cartridges that will not Work, Due to your soft ware!!

I have the ink delivered and it’s cheaper than buying in the shop

Hate it never wanted it!!
I was forced to sign up when I got my HP printer and at first you only got charged if you went over a certain amount which i never did so was fine. Then they started charging £1.99 regardless and now its currently at £4.99 a month regardless and i barely use my printer. I've probably lost well over £100 by now and i barely use the printer. Why haven't I cancelled? I tried they told me if i did my printer would stop working so I have been held hostage having to pay for this service to keep using my printer as they lock you out otherwise. I will shortly be purchasing a new printer and never buying a HP product again and warning everyone else to do the same!

They did not explain the plan the way I am reading all the comments. You pay a monthly fee and are allowed to print a certain number of pages with your plan free. HP says I print 100 pages per month which is a bold faced lie!! I called them today about my recent charges and they were unable to admit that even with messages I’m getting saying I can’t print because my laptop won’t connect to printer, so I haven’t printed 100 pages, they explained it differently from when I purchased the plan and wouldn’t offer any kind of credit due to their misinformation and faulty system. I DO NOT print 100 pages a month and darn sure haven’t in the last 45 days! I cancelled everything. Going to sell my HP Envy printer (which is a piece of crap anyway) and buying a non HP printer. The HP agent told me I was printing 100 pages a month?? 100 x $1.50
Per page? Shouldn’t I have needed more ink? Why have you only sent ink one time when I signed up for the plan?? Scammers!!

I have tried cancelling this service multiple times with no success. They continue to charge us for a service and then that service is never even rendered. We have never received ink in the mail and they claim that it is our fault, when the whole program was advertised as "knowing" when we'd need ink and they'd send it. So many times the printer has run out of ink and won't work because there is no ink. Half the time, the initial ink sent didn't even work and printed off error sheets only. Piece of crap printer with an even worse service that just charges you with no actual product. IT IS A SCAM! Do not buy into it.

I canceled my smart ink subscription because my printer wouldn’t print saying the ink cartridges weren’t registered. I called customer support and they said there was an issue with my payment. I canceled it but again I get a message about the unregistered cartridges. How can HP stop me from printing on my printer with cartridges I paid for. I will never buy another HP product again.

Reply from HP Instant Ink
I have received NO cartridges for years, yet I still get billed. I have complained MANY times and requested refunds. Now I’m just ending my direct debit and throwing the printer into the garbage.
I truly regret getting sucked into this.

HP Insta Ink is a SCAM!!! Since the last time I was sent Ink cartridges in March of 2024, I've paid $308.46. I just received new cartridges, but I canceled my subscription because I can buy new cartridges for half that price. But of course, they don't work because I canceled my subscription. So what did I pay for? Feeling totally ripped off!
This was in their response to my paying $308 for nothing.
"You choose an Instant Ink plan based on the number of pages you would like to print monthly. Your monthly fee covers the pages in your plan, allows you to roll over unused pages (up to triple your plan pages), ink delivery, and recycling. You are not purchasing ink cartridges through this service. For this reason, the subscription cartridges do not work after cancellation. The printer itself is never disabled, and you can install store-bought cartridges to keep printing."
So I paid $308 to print pages on a printer I already paid for with paper I bought myself. They are absolutely shameless!

I wish I didn’t have to give HP a one star rating because I would rate a zero or negative number if I could. I would NEVER recommend signing up for HP instant ink because it is a scam. There is no savings on ink and they overcharge on printing. WORST SERVICE EVER AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRINTER.
