I filed a claim for my stolen camera…

I filed a claim for my stolen camera and after 3 weeks of back and forth the insurance rep finally told me my payment was ready I just needed to confirm my mailing address.
BUT then she emails me afterwards, and says the police report needed to be updated, so I went ahead and got it updated.
Instead of paying me like she promised in her email, she started asking more questions, and of course after 4 weeks, I told her I just want my payment like they promised.
Instead of just paying me like they promised since I promised everything they asked for. Some very rude guy called me instead from Intact insurance and started asking me questions about my car insurance claim from last year, and indirectly called me stupid followed by I'm going to launch a full investigation.
When I told him about the 1.3 star review on Trust piolet the smart &*$# asked me is that bad, is 1 stars bad?
Furthermore, other people were emailing me from the insurance agents personal work email which is highly alarming.

Unfair rates and untrustworthy

For our B&B, we have had business insurance with Intact for 5 years now. These are our rates per year:
2021 - $ 3.956
2022 - $ 4.554
2023 - $ 5.769
2024 - $ 7.027
For this year, they forgot to inform us that they "lost their appetite" for our kind of small business, but because they were so late informing us that they wish to boot us out, they mentioned (6 days before renewal) they would prolong with the rate of:
$ 8.289 !
In many countries, these raises would be considered a criminal offense.

They raised my monthly by $50 no…

They raised my monthly by $50 no accidents , no claims I’ve been with them over 7 yrs . I asked my insurance My broker at SimplInsurance to review and shop around for me . I still Haven’t heard from them, who needs a useless broker.
Wouldn’t recommend either at this point. Do your own research .

Ridiculous clauses for roof coverage

We received a letter from them updating their insurance policy, which includes covering only 25% of damage resulting from any leaks if the roof is over 10 years old. Our house is 11 years old, our roof is 11 years old, and our roof is guaranteed to last 30 years by our builder. So we are asked to install a new roof when our existing roof has almost 20 more years to go just to get the full coverage. Ridiculous. Ours is a new house, who replaces a roof after just 11 years on a new house?

This is the WORST insurance company…

This is the WORST insurance company I’ve ever dealt with. They are taking a long to longest time to process your claim and you will deal with annoying waiting time for customer services. Recently our car was stolen from our driveway. When we reached this unprofessional insurance company they didn’t resolve the issue and said we have to pay for approx $460 a week if we go with rental car and made us to pay almost $1000 for 2 weeks. I don’t understand this thing what’s the purpose to get the insurance if they can’t provide you a car once it damaged/stolen. Its just wastage of time and money that we are paying them biweekly/monthly basis. I would suggest anyone to not to go this fraud company and better go with another instead. I would NEVER recommend this company to my friends/colleague/family in future. I would like to give them 0 star if I can give.

The wait to get a person on the phone…

The wait to get a person on the phone was excessive. Almost an hour waiting.
Once I got Tushar Puligadda to help me add a vehicle to my policy, things went fairly smoothly. He was very helpful and very friendly. I know Intact is probably overwhelmed by the numerous issues from the ice storm.

Worst experience of my life pathetic customers services after hours waiting time no resolution wastage of time not recommended. One of the terrible insurance company in town. Shared screenshots and fake promises provided by the company on social media platforms.

Tried to get insurance from intact…

Tried to get insurance from intact through (they own) broker link. Broker link gave me a good quote and I tried to move from my current insurance company to Intact. However broker link did not process the claim telling me that the renewal date was able to be back dated. Then said sorry I made a mistake.

dishonest demands and misrepresentation

Baltaj Kooner,  dishonest demands and misrepresentation during the claims process for my vehicle, a Toyota Solara, . I believe these actions may constitute unfair practices under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002, and potentially breach the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, 2002.
Description of the Issue
During the claims process, I was not informed of the requirement to provide a new safety certificate or a new ownership document from Service Ontario designating the vehicle as “Rebuilt.” The necessity of these documents and the vehicle’s rebuilt status were not disclosed to me at any point, despite my clear expectation of transparency. This lack of disclosure has caused significant inconvenience, financial burden, and potential misrepresentation of the vehicle’s status, which I believe violates consumer protection laws.
Impact
As a result of this misrepresentation and undisclosed requirements, I have incurred  additional costs for obtaining documents, delays in resolving the claim, or emotional distress. I am disappointed by the lack of clarity and honesty, which has undermined my trust in Intact insurance.
Requested Resolution
To resolve this matter, I respectfully request:
A full explanation of why the requirement for a safety certificate and rebuilt ownership document was not disclosed during the claims process.

Confirmation that Intact insurance will review its disclosure practices to prevent similar issues for other customers.

Long wait time between claim start to…

Long wait time between claim start to claim denied.
Every week they requested something. The online App never updated. Sent a complaint to customer service I got a phone call from the manager which was a waste of time. Told him about the reviews but he didn't care because he doesn't look at them. That tells me they don't care about what people think about them.

This is a FAKE insurance company registered only to reject claims for customers. I had a contract with them where they didn't disclose the deductible and now claiming that my claim is under deductible that just made up.

New company blaming me twice in 8months

The reason I'm writing this review is because I wasn't shocked to see all the bad reviews.Thats why I come her to see what kind of service or commency people were getting.
I was doing this before I called my broker to cancel. Because they were cancelling my coverage unless I paid the remainder in full , for the second time I must add because my monthly payment didn't go through. The first they were wrong but I still had to fix up at a different rate, because they do cancel you and reinstate you after making the higher payment plus $50 for their bank charge besides the $48 the bank charged me for the payment not going through..SOO this time they were trying to take out the monthly payment for March but it was $41 more than it was supposed to be. This is a Home policy by the way. I'm only on small income and there was only enough money in my account for the normal payment So the bank. Which is a different matter They wouldn't let the payment go through but put a $48NSF charge on no problem And like the first time They didn't try to take the money out the second time like they are supposed to do after 5 days.
So unless the roof falls in or a tornado is about to come, I'm taking my chances and my broker better find a company more reliable.

My experience with Intact Insurance has been a nightmare!

My experience with Intact Insurance has been an absolute nightmare from the moment I filed a claim. There has been a major issue at every step—lack of communication, misinformation, delays, and a complete disregard for fairness.

I always make an effort to be objective and reasonable when dealing with any parties, but Intact has made that nearly impossible. It’s become clear to me that they have no interest in understanding the actual facts of the situation. Their priority seems to be collecting premiums, not providing support when it’s needed. The fact that they claim to be on your side is a big joke. I will be sure to follow through via legal claims.

I’m already cancelling other policies I had with them that were up for renewal, and I strongly recommend that others think twice before signing up. If you value honesty, competence, and basic accountability, stay far away from Intact.

Terrible insurance to deal with I had an accident and I admitted it my mistake. ITerrible insurance to deal with I had an accident and I admitted it my mistake. I hit the road the wall and they did not pay me. They didn’t even pay my rental car that’s they are very horrible company. Bel-Air direct and Tech insurance are the same. Don’t even think about buying this insurance. They fraud their horrible company. This is my experience.
