Unfair refund policy after cancelling lesson package

I purchased a driving lesson package from Into Traffic for €3,432.95. The package included 40 hours of driving lessons and exams.

After taking 10.5 hours of lessons, I decided to stop continuing with this driving school and requested termination of the agreement in early January.

Initially the school did not provide a clear answer regarding the refund and the process took quite a long time. Eventually, after multiple messages, they refunded €1,800.

However, the school refused to return an additional €608, claiming this amount represents “reserved capacity” during the cancellation period. According to them, this was calculated as 8 hours of lesson capacity, even though no lessons had actually been scheduled for that period.

When I asked for a detailed explanation (specific dates or lesson slots that were supposedly reserved), I received only a general explanation of their planning system rather than concrete evidence.

As a result, €608 of my payment remains withheld.

I am sharing this experience so that future students are aware of how refunds are handled if they decide to terminate a lesson package early.
