Long hold, received excellent service after hold

Called, waited 20 minutes, went to chat (told it was faster) waited 30+ minutes. Then once someone came on, had to be transferred again..
In all that wait time, a question couldn't be asked to direct my chat yo the right department?
Once I got to Savonnia (I think that was the name), she was Great!
I didn't have to retype everything, she got the problem and dealt with it quickly!
She has been the best contact I have had while dealing with a very frustrating onboard process..

Notarization Rip-off and Price Gouging

iPostal1 use a third-party notary service at a cost of $25 per name in order to open a new mailbox. This is a pure rip-off and there is no guarantee whether your ID and personal data are kept securely. I also have had numerous billing and customer services issues with this company and their primary aim seems to be to gouge the customer as much as possible. I therefore do not recommend.

Regarding the issues described, the USPS requires that the Form 1583 be notarized to help prevent fraud, protecting both you and the mail center. Many mail centers allow you to sign the form in their presence, in which case notarization may not be required. To notarize your form without going to your mail center, you need to use the online notary service for $25. You may have up to 6 names on your account, but each additional recipient must have a completed and notarized 1583 if they plan on receiving mail. We partner with an online notary to offer a streamlined process. We take customer privacy very seriously and want to ensure you have a great experience.

Our goal is to make using iPostal1 simple and pricing transparent. We do post the pricing for all our Optional Services on the Pricing pages and by the address listing of each address on our website. $9.99 per month is a great value for digital mailbox service.

Our Customer Service team is highly professional and always tries to help, but we need to know more to understand the issues you are experiencing. Please provide your information so we can follow up with you.

Hidden fees and crap customer service

Hidden fees and crap customer service

The clerk at the store told us that our $9.95/month subscription included 5 scans per month - that was a lie, it costs $2.25 to scan your mail + $2.25 to shred anything that you need disposed of securely.

We also asked if they could do check deposits which was a yes. However, I requested a scan of something (another $2.25) I suspected contained a check and got the reply that they could not scan checks. It took three days for their tech support to tell me that the item was now scanned. BTW, you will never talk to a live human, you have to use the app or email them and it takes at least 24 to 48 hours for a reply.

So, then I discovered it was going to cost $4.95 + an unknown fee for "tracking" the check to be deposited. I opted to have a friend pick up my mail and wrote to the branch to see if that was possible and if there would be a fee. They wrote back that it was possible but did not answer my question about a fee. I soon discovered that it costs $0.50 per piece of mail for an iPostal1 agent to hand your mail to someone picking it up.

Most of the time the tech support is interacting with a bot. I wrote to tech support and complained about the hidden fees that were not disclosed and the bot sent me a message the next day asking if I was satisfied with the service I received. Clearly the bots are not trained to notice complaints.

iPostal1's customer service is bot service that may or may not solve your issue. Live human support is scarce and when a live human does respond it'll take at least a day or two for them to do so. The standard "We're experiencing high volumes of customers wanting help, please be patient" is displayed along with "we are constantly hiring new people to improve our service" Right, sure ya are!

Bottom line: Expect to pay more than advertised for basic functions and to be charged for anything other than tossing your mail. And if you have a question or a problem, expect to wait for an answer.

If I had to do it over again, I'd definitely find another company.

Pricing for all ‘Optional Services’ is posted on the Pricing pages on our website. Our goal is total transparency. Our strategy is to charge the lowest monthly mailbox fee possible and then charge customers only for the optional services they choose, like shipping, scanning mail content, mail pickup, shredding, or check deposit. We believe this is the fairest way to price, so people who don’t need optional services do not subsidize the people that do. You can take advantage of our discount bundles to save money on scanning and shredding.

We strive to maintain high service levels at all of our mail center locations, and we will follow up with your mail center. You can find more information on features offered, such as pickup pricing and check deposit, in the Details of each location. 

You should receive an email or push notification within a few minutes of any requested task being completed, so there’s no need to wait for a response from our Customer Service team.  

Sorry you did not have a better experience with our Customer Service team. Generally, our chat service works well and is a fast, convenient way to answer questions. Our records show you were connected to a live agent via chat, but the chat ended due to inactivity. Please note, you can reach a live agent via chat, email, or phone, Monday-Friday 9am-8pm ET.

Needed a refund. They delivered

Had to get a refund cuz I purchased something I didnt need. They were totally cool about it and Michael helped get me the refund immediately. Would use them again if I ever need them

Do better, iPostal

I paid for this service at the midway point of February 2026, completed the notarization aspect during the same week. It was supposed to be handled in 1 to 3 business days. Long story short, it took over 30 days to get my Form 1583 approved, even though I had been charged for an additional month of service and had not received any of my mail. Now, I will give credit where credit is due: Shavonna, my Chat Support Agent, rectified the issue in less than 10 minutes. She reached out to my mail center to ensure they were aware of the situation and to put a rush on things: she also made sure I had their contact information, just in case. When I reached out to my mail center, I spoke with a young man (whose name I forgot to get) who assured me the issue was handled and the ways in which I would receive my mail. I got an email from iPostal during this same phone call showing me the Form had been approved. Let me be clear: this should NOT have taken this long AND it is not right to continue to debit for a service one is unable to use. However, you all made it right and I appreciate that.

If they are not completed, you will still be able to use the address for your business without the mail function. That is why your account was charged, whether or not your forms are approved. Many customers use our addresses this way.

We apologize for the initial delay in reviewing your forms. Our dedicated 1583 team handles the first check before sending them over to your mail center for the final review. While the approval process usually takes 1–3 business days, an additonal delay occurred because our 1583 team notified you that information was missing or incorrect.
