Responsible company. Don't hesitate to reach out to communicate with IPQS - if you got caught in between an issue or misunderstanding that related to them. They are willing to clarify, and find solution to remediate the situation asap. They make sure their service very careful to avoid penalizing legitimate user and they do it professionally.

Well Written API Documentation! It was very simple to add IPQualityScore's fraud detection APIs into our platform. Our company already has pretty extensive rules and algorithms in place to detect fraud, but we needed some additional data to stop the bad guys. The data we are getting back has been very precise in elevating our detection of bad actors online. Would highly recommend the team at IPQS and their data quality!

NOT free. Searches resulted in no useful information. I was asked to upgrade (pay money) just to get the owner of the number. I consider this false advertising.

Great site to investigate bad actors using OSINT and other exclusive data. The tools on the IPQS dashboard are very convenient for researching more details about WHO a person is. I can plug in data like an IP address, email address, phone number, etc. and view more details about identity information, risk signals, and even bot activity. IPQS makes my job easier so I can spend less time investigating fraudsters and bad actors.

Nice Support, Accurate APIs! IPQualityscore is very very easy to integrate. We had the service running in under an hour and it easily plugged into our existing data sets and workflows. Having a confident source to make better decisions with is always a positive. Love the IPQS service! IPQualityScore has been a game changer for our business. Our accounts team was previously spending hours per day manually verifying accounts which was a terrible process and we could never keep up. Now we automate everything with IPQS and use their real-time checks to verify everything about a new user such as IP, email, phone, etc. We had the pleasure of meeting their team recently at a conference, great group of folks!

We finally got to meet the IPQS team at RSA! We recently started working with IPQualityScore at the end of last year, so in about 8 months our team can safely say that the service performs well, our account managers are quick to address any concerns, and the support team is great at helping our engineers and analysts best use the fraud detection tools. It was nice to meet the team in person and shake hands with people that we talk with at least once per week, sometimes even daily. The accuracy is really what separates IPQS from other services, we can automate much more and trust the data without manually reviewing each user action.

We use IPQS as our primary proxy detection and fraud prevention service provider. In the past, we have used many other vendors and have seen it all, with issues from false-positives to not enough protection against bots or fraudsters. IPQS has really impressed our team across all channels. The service is accurate and has the lowest false-positive rate of any provider we’ve tested or used in the past. Jon and the customer support team are also very very helpful and quick to offer their assistance whenever they can. If you are on the fence at all about IPQS, give them a chance to earn your business. It’s the best decision we’ve made to mitigate the sophisticated abuse our team has been fighting for years. I cannot even calculate how many hours per week we are saving from manually reviewing accounts and payments.

VPN/Proxy detection can be extremely draconian or strict depending on your particular setup. Ensure you adjust accordingly to avoid turning away legitimate customers. Many residential IPs flagged as high abuse risk but the company is willing to take action when prompted.

I had my home IP address falsely classified as "high risk", a "VPN" and a "spammer" and as a consequence had my registration for a web site cancelled, and had the administrator of that web site call me a "liar".

I have since had an extended email correspondence with the Technical Director of IPQS who has provided no data whatsoever to justify the "VPN" and "spammer" classifications, and for the "high risk" classifications has provided a port scan (which does NOT match an independent port scan) and a browser profile (which matches my own PC but falsely claims I have bad-actor extensions installed), and has somehow extrapolated what are at best (even if the data was correct) mild indications of an untypical home user into a "high risk" user, a "VPN" and a "spammer".

In short, their methodology apparently said (based on the flimsiest of evidence) that my usage looked vaguely like that of bad-actors, and thus I must be one too. This is akin to saying that someone is a thief based on the shape of their ears or the bumps on their head.

Based entirely on this mis-classification, I then had my registration for a web-site cancelled, and the administrator of that web site explicitly called me "a liar".

In short, my internet usage and reputation were both harmed by a false classification by this company of my internet usage as "high risk", a "VPN" and a "spammer".

If you are a user of IPQS services, BE WARNED - since their classification is apparently based on extrapolation rather than any proof that will stand up in a court of law, you run the risk of being sued if you use their data to prevent someone using your services in any way shape or form that impugns their reputation.

Edit 2024/2/5: IPQS response to this review ("Hi Paul. We tried to find protopia.co.uk. It does not exist anywhere. Please provide a valid domain/URL. Thank you.") is to deny my email domain name exists despite my having had extensive email conversations with their Technical Director using this domain name. It would seem that they do not understand that Domain names do NOT need to have an associated web site and can be used for email only. That is the level of their technical inabilities.

Edit 2024/6/14: IPQS has now "flagged this review for containing harmful or illegal content." This is an honest review that can be fully backed up by extensive eMail correspondence with the Technical Director i.e. IPQS' most senior technical employee who was entirely unable to justify ANY of the technical analysis with hard evidence to support their negative assessment of my internet usage.

I would also add that when I challenged their assessment they did not stand firmly behind what they claim is an evidence based assessment, but instead reset the classification to normal despite continuing to argue that their ongoing assessment still showing my IP address had malicious open ports and my browser had malicious extensions - neither of which were true. In other words, they did NOT have the courage of their convictions.

Edit 2024/6/14: Trustpilot have now made a decision: "We’ve assessed your review for the reason it was flagged and determined that it follows our guidelines. Therefore, we’ve now put your review back online." It appears that IPQS "protests too much" and that TrustPilot deemed the reason for it being flagged as invalid.

Edit 2024/6/14: Having had this review reinstated, I immediately received another email from David Mackler, CTO of IPQS, despite my having previously issued a CEASE & DESIST to him. In this email he begged me to withdraw this review because it was adversely impacting his business, and claiming (without providing the evidence he said he had) that two recent negative reviews here were from people who had told him explicitly in an email that they were scammers even though they posted a negative reviews here.

I told him to:

1. Flag these false reviews and provide this evidence to TrustPilot in order to have these false reviews removed; and
2. To get the IPQS scoring methodology confidentially reviewed by genuine and acknowledged internet experts on the basis that they will publish a summary of their review regardless of whether the results are favourable or negative. We will have to wait to see whether IPQS has the confidence in their own methodology to do this.

(After the previous edits earlier today, just how stupid is it to ask me to remove a negative review and expect me to do so rather than expect me to add this development here?)

I am absolutely delighted with IPQualityScore and the services they offer! The support is simply fantastic - they always respond promptly to my queries. It's impressive how they manage not to get bogged down in technical details and instead deliver clear and compelling marketing messages.

Another highlight is the user interface, which is so intuitive that you almost forget that there are minor issues from time to time, such as images inserted in the ticket disappearing after submission. But hey, who needs pictures when you have such an impressive service?

The way IPQualityScore deals with reported technical issues is simply unique. Instead of dwelling on unnecessary details, they focus on the essentials. Sometimes I'm even asked for suggestions, and even if I occasionally don't hear anything afterwards, it shows that my opinion is valued.

The handling of reported IPs and domains also deserves special mention. It's remarkable how they manage to identify spam and scam without relying on unnecessary evidence. This saves everyone involved valuable time and shows the great confidence they have in their technology.

Overall, I highly recommend IPQualityScore. The service is second to none and the support leaves nothing to be desired. I look forward to continuing to benefit from this first-class provider!
