IRobot are crooks and operate Illegally. I returned my 2 Irobot products to them under their 30 day guarantee and they have not refunded me and it's been over 3 weeks. Impossible to get hold of on the phone and have ignored my emails. I WILL NOW BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM.. Bear in mind when you think about buying or trying IRobot...

The product is a gamechanger!

The iRobot is an absolute game-changer! From the moment I brought it into my home, it revolutionized the way I approach cleaning. This little marvel has taken the drudgery out of vacuuming and made it a breeze.

Just some background. I'm a bird lover and have an African Grey and 6 Cockatiels who happily throw seed all over the place. I used to vacuum the conservatory at least four times a day which became a real pain in a backside.

Firstly, the floor mapping is mind-blowing. It did a brilliant job of it. The app lets you name areas of your home, and it accurately divides each room. The great thing is you can schedule when you want the iRobot to mop and hoover.

The iRobot's smart technology is truly impressive. It effortlessly navigates through my home, gliding under furniture and around obstacles with ease. It leaves no corner untouched, ensuring every inch of my floor is spotless. Plus, its ability to adapt to different floor types is remarkable.

Maintenance is a breeze too, with easy-to-clean parts and a straightforward setup process. The iRobot has become an indispensable part of my daily life, and I can't imagine going back to traditional vacuuming. It's efficient, reliable, and a true game changer for anyone looking to simplify their cleaning routine.

I purchased the Roomba i5 last year

I purchased the Roomba i5 last year, and since then, it's been a year of unending problems. I reached out for support in January, hoping to get a resolution to the issues we've been experiencing. Unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite repeated attempts, our concerns have gone unanswered.

What's even more disheartening is that we've expressed our intention to take legal action, but iRobot UK refuses to provide an address for communication. We're left in the dark, with our problems unsolved.

It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that not only provides unreliable products but also lacks the customer support necessary to address issues when they arise. I wish we could resolve this without resorting to legal action, but it seems like that's the only way to get their attention.

If you're considering an iRobot product, please be aware that the company's post-purchase support seems virtually non-existent. I hope our situation serves as a cautionary tale for potential buyers.

Please be cautious when purchasing iRobot products, and I hope this review sheds light on the issues we've encountered.

The worst service ever. Do not buy from them.

I've used IRobot for years and never had an issue with their products. My current robot has developed a fault which has rendered it useless. They won't answer emails except to ask if the issue has been resolved. You will be queueing for over 50m if you try to contact them on the phone. Once you do get through then it will just be someone who can take your details and request a callback but can't put you through to anyone else. I wouldn't recommend using them anymore. If there's an issue then it's either hundreds of pounds wasted or contact your lawyer.

Faulty goods, Poor service, Deceptive warranty: NOT GOOD ENOUGH

I purchased two very expensive robots from irobot - a roomba i3 and a braava jet m6 (mopping robot). They were covered by warranty for two years from their purchase date.
1-Within the 1st year, the side brush of the roomba i3 started making an awful squeaking noise that is practically impossible to remove no matter what you do. irobot has offered no help to this problem.
2-Within the 1st year, the braava jet m6 stopped spraying liquid suddenly, therefore beating its actual purpose of being used (mopping). When I contacted customer services, they claimed that their technician had decided to charge me £341.50 because “the root cause” of the spraying part’s malfunction was “not included in the warranty”. When I requested to receive more information as to what the “root cause” was, I was not provided with any and received the same non-explanatory email that suggested I didn’t have any right to challenge the quote they had given me and I either pay or receive my broken robot back, from a no-reply email address.

1- What is the problem that caused this robot’s main function to malfunction without any wrongdoing by the consumer?
2- The mopping robot simply stopped spraying liquid which has prevented it to fulfill its main function. How can this main function’s potential root causes for it to break NOT BE INCLUDED in its warranty?
3- If answer to the previous question is yes: How can irobot as a provider of high end goods legally justify offering its consumers a warranty agreement that is basically abusive of consumer rights in the UK? (As the company claims, this “root cause” for the spray to stop working is “not included in the warranty”.)
4- How can irobot justify selling me faulty goods, and then demanding that I pay £341.50 more to make it work again, even though the company owes me a working robot which is still under warranty?
5- How can irobot justify offering me a warranty agreement that is stealing me of my consumer rights?
6- How can irobot offer such a poor service of customer relations that I am not even able to speak to someone about this, because whenever I try to speak to someone on the phone, and person who can’t access any information on this case only listens to me, make a record of what I said, say they’ll be in touch with me, and then send me the exact same email I originally contacted customer services for, which contains no explanation whatsoever about this repair case?

Shambolic customer service

Ive had an iRobot M6 for several years and never needed to contact iRobot. That’s probably testament to the quality of its robot.

The Roomba vacuums did not appeal to me but as Neato went bust, I looked that iRobot’s range and ordered from them a J7 on 2 September. Delivery was 4-5 working days.

2 days later a cable arrived.

Today it’s 30 Sep. No shipping still. It’s not a case of a delayed order alone; iRobot doesn’t know why they’ve not shipped it. I emailed them and despite saying they reply in 2 days; they replied 7 days later saying… we’ve opened a case.

Unsurprisingly, I’ve heard nothing since.

A company which can’t fulfil orders and opens cases over them, which are then silent for weeks, is shambolic.

Its customer service is really appalling, as everyone has mentioned in the reviews. Worst, I would never order direct from them again; use Amazon and order from third parties.

You want to be rude and ignorant and not tell me what you try your based in,
Paul your very out of touch with human customer service, in general you have lost me for good, my romba has stooped working properly after just 2 years, anyway, good bye to your idiotic customer service and most of all good by forever from your products, I would have spent at least £500 on a new model if you treated me with the respect I deserve, you not worthy of my money or my business, hahaha I'm happy there are so many hoover moo robots out there and I will only use companies with 5 stars on Trustpilot, that goes for everything from now on, banks, shops, any company, truspilot does not lie, people are the truth, I asked to speak with a manager or have one call me back and I was told you don't offer that service, what a home of a company, do one.

Awful customer service, this warrants going elsewhere on its own right

The website is badly set up for the UK, most links are broken (for example, you can't initiate a return, despite what iRobot claims; the help and F&Q links always move you to the US site where you can then can't proceed with your requests). But the absolute worst thing is the customer service. Every message takes 3-5 days for them to reply to. I bought a Roomba S9 that they agree is not functioning properly and no troubleshooting has worked on, yet I am supposed to be pay for an out of warranty repair - no explanation as to why. The Roomba was used as per instructions.
No point trying to call customer service, I worked myself through the system and when I was supposed to be connected with an agent they just dropped the call.

Basically, it takes forever to get in touch and keep a conversation with customer service going, it is only possible by email. There are no return instructions or process for unused items on their UK site. The 2 year warranty for roombas seems to be a lie. I would go looking elsewhere.

Good product - very poor customer service

bought a very expensive floorbot 2 years ago and have had no problems until now. Battery will not charge and seems likely to require replacing. Can buy correct battery on US website but it's not listed on UK website. Trying to contact them by phone: "very busy" so selected call back "in about 10 minutes".... 2 hours later and still waiting (& wait time now "more than 30 minutes"). This their sales line!
finally resorted to searching online for alternative batteries - turns out there are plenty.
Most companies respond to Trustpilot reviews with at least a token explanation/ apology..

I have had my Roomba 500 for several years. Occasionally it requires replacement parts. I have had my Larynx removed so all communication is via email. I have tried ordering parts for past 3 weeks. No response. Tried customer services. Have had several "we will deal with your enquiry within 2 days". No reply. The Roomba is not cheap but was treasured and generally reliable. Potential buyers might wish to note the absence of after-sales service at iRobot. There isn't one.

Avoid!

iRobot's delivery service is a complete disappointment. My parcel was never delivered, iRobot refuse to take responsibility. The tracking system was useless, customer service unhelpful, and there's a complete lack of accountability. I won't use their service again and strongly advise others against it too.

Robot fell down stairs

Robot fell down stairs. Apparently this isn’t supposed to happen! I was told not to use it for three weeks. Then told it is fine but I can send it in if I want to? Sent it off two weeks later they return it saying it is fine. They did not think it fell down the stairs?! I wouldn’t have been in touch if it hadn’t! And there wouldn’t be damage to my wall. Such poor customer service. Would not recommend.

Buy Roborock instead

If you don't need anything, contact their customer support! 2 months of back and forth, and the robot is still not working, they just keep giving you the same useless recommendation. Don't waste your time like me, buy Roborock and move on, that's what I'm doing.

Bought an i7+………..

Bought an i7+ last year, it worked for a few months, then problems started!
Now all it says it battery not detected, so having done everything they suggest, bought new battery at £60 and reboot the item, as well as done a system restore serval times it still says the same, I think it’s a software problem. But looking around quite a few people are having the same issues! For an £800 item I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere!!

Scam! Wish I read these reviews before I purchased.

Only going to echo what everyone else has said. Beyond poor customer support and customer experience overall. Jaw-dropping bad. So bad in fact I just gave up. Two and three days between emails. Complete amnesia between emails. I thought at first it was a bot but there's no way a bot could be that incompetent. Poor email etiquette. Utterly unhelpful. Asking the same question email after email. Literally sending instructions already available on the internet as the solution. Nothing is worth this hassle. Violetta, if you're reading this you are hands down the worst customer service agent I have ever dealt with, with any company. The product doesn't do what it says on the box. The customer support is as broken as the product. Just don't do it. Spend the money on a nice dyson or hire a cleaner and get some value for money.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I ordered the irobot S9+ roomba on 15th December 2022 and it was opened on Christmas day. By the end of January 2023 (just a few days over their 30 day refund policy) the product was developing fault after fault. Firstly the motor was making a loud grinding noise and then the turbo stopped working. It was also flashing up error 26 which means the vacuum is experiencing insufficient airflow. I rang customer service and the advisor told me some debris may have got stuck in the motor? I thought this was a strange comment to make because it's a vacuum and meant to suck up debris. I explained that we recently moved into a new build house with brand new carpets, so its's not really been put to the test. The advisor told me he will organise for it to be repaired at their workshop. I wasn't too pleased with this because we had only purchased the product a few weeks earlier and when you spend £1,000 you expect it to last longer than 1 month. Anyway I went along with his advice, but 1 week later I hadn't heard anything from anyone, so I called the customer service number again and they apologised for the delay and said it was because they were really busy. Well that tells you everything if their repairs department are too busy to cope. The lady that I spoke to offered to send me a new cleaning module. This is basically part of the hoover with the motor attached. When it arrived (1 week later) I installed it, but the hoover was still flashing error 26 which means the vacuum is experiencing insufficient airflow. I called iRobot customer service again and they said they will need to send it to their repair workshop. I explained we have been without an hoover last 2 weeks, so I asked whether they will swap it instead because it was only opened a few weeks ago (25th Dec), but they declined and told me I'm just outside their 30 day period. Long story short I'm still going through their process, but I've had to go out and buy a cheaper hoover so I can at least hoover up. Please take my advice if you are thinking about buying a product from irobot don't bother and save your money. You will regret it if you do. The idea is good, but their products are no where near finished. The amount of error codes these things flash up is scary and I now feel I've wasted £1,000. Stick with Dysons or Shark hoovers which are more reliable and you get a better after sales experience.
