Not exactly as it advertised.

Some of the information on the website and in the advertising is misleading:
1. The entry cost and ride token cost section doesn't mention an entry fee of £2. In reality, you must pay £2 for each person entering the fair.
2. There are air rifle (shooting range) booths at the fair that do not accept tokens and ask for separate cash payment. It turns out that you have to purchase tokens, pay separately for admission for each person, only to find out that some entertainment has to be paid extra?
3. The fair's website says that they encourage visitors to be eco-friendly and come by public transport if possible. However, there is no bicycle parking next to the entrance, and it is not permitted to secure a bicycle to the fence of the fairground. Diesel power generators don't make it any eco-friendly.

On the bright side, if you can tolerate loud music and not the most courteous staff, you might enjoy yourself.

Dear Anton, thank you for your feedback.

1. We have taken this on board and updated our ride token order system to make the £2 charge clearer.

2. We do display very large banners outside of our fairs that state "tokens not accepted on food or game stalls - cash & card only" and also that "single rides can be paid by card & tokens", so it is not mandatory to buy tokens.

3. Unfortunately, our insurance does not allow us to take responsibility for cycles left unattended on site, but our funfairs are held in parks that usually offer their own cycle parking. I will see if it is possible to look up the nearest bike racks in each park and to add this to our website.

I apologise for the discourteous staff. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as your feedback does help us to improve.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience at this amusement park. The park was supposed to open at the hours listed on their website, but when we arrived, it was closed. After waiting and being told it would open later, we returned with my child, only to find that just one ride—the bumper cars—was operating. It was a huge letdown, especially for my child who was excited for a full day of fun. The park clearly needs better organization and communication. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time here.

Thank you for visiting our funfair. We are sorry that it did not meet your expectations and would like to discuss this with you.

We are confused about the events in your review. It states that when you visited on 13 September 2024 (a Friday), that the funfair did not open on time and that when it did open, only the bumper cars were operating. The listed opening times for Friday on all of our publicity was 3pm. Our senior manager on-site has confirmed that our Clapham Common funfair opened on time every day during this visit, despite the rainy weather.

Could it be possible that you read the opening times for Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, which was 1pm? If this is the case, we would be grateful if you could revise your review to reflect this. If you wish to discuss this further, you are very welcome to contact Mr. Irvin either by calling our 24-hour hotline on 020 8795 4282 or by emailing us on info@irvinleisure.com.

Fair in Gladstone Park

Fair in Gladstone Park
Living near Gladstone Park when the fair was on for 17 days, having to listen to rides with police sirens and car horns going off every few minutes for almost 9 hours a day. People are trying to work from home, some work shifts and need to rest in the daytime, others are elderly, mothers with new borns trying to rest, and some are in bed with sickness. Playing annoying sirens and car horns repeatedly for hours on end shows they have no regard for the community. This park is not suitable for a fair in such a built up area. People also go to the park for recreation and don't want to listen to endless sirens and horns going off for hours.

Competition Winner

I won free entry, rides and candy floss on Instagram and took my kids and my nephew. They had a fantastic time on the Crazy Caterpillar, Fun House, Boats, Helicopter, Aeroplane and Trampolines. All staff were welcoming and friendly especially the Boat guy helping the kids to steer instead of circling lol. Very grateful we could celebrate my nephew's birthday here.

ABSOLUTE ROBBERY

Just took the kids to Shepherd’s Bush fair in London
It has gradually got worse here every time they come but today has put a nail in the coffin for this location
They charge to get in and have increased the amount of tickets for each ride
5 tickets for the dogems is absolute ROBBERY
3/8/2024 last time we visit Irvin’s funfairs

It would be great to listen to music instead of sound buttons

It would be great to listen to music but most of the time, someone plays screams, honks, different scream, French can-can, pressing buttons like - difficult to write down but I'm trying - along this: scre-scre-scr-scr-scr-scream-scream... ride-ride-ra-rah-ride... hohhhnk ho-ho-honk hohhnk yeeha-yee-yee-yeeeeeha-ye-yee...then a song is started, stopped, then again yee-yeeeehe... rinse repeat. Depending on the day, pressing sound buttons takes up about 75% of the time. It's probably meant to attract more visitors but instead, it destroys all the fun. I've been to many funfairs but none was making noises like that. On top, it is difficult to have a conversation because the volume is similar to being inside a club. At least, there they play songs.
Funfair in Gladstone Park NW2 London. Yesterday, it seemed better. Maybe because it's a weekday or a different "DJ"?
