Dangerous drivers, dangerous customers, late and expensive service. Irregular bus times. Packed buses.

Always use Southern Vectis buses to get around when visiting the Isle of Wight.
The best way to see the Island, fantastic views, easy app, good value rover tickets, friendly and considerate drivers that even allow you to take your seat before driving off (it's rarely the case where I live), wonderful picturesque routes.
Breezer buses, Island and Summer Coasters are particular favourite journeys.

We have used vectis buses now for the last two years . We come over from the mainland to the warner hotels at bembridge and yarmouth and use the bus company as our transport . I would like to say that all its drivers are professional, polite and helpful always with a smile . Buses clean and tidy and the information screens with voice overs excellent . Yesterday and today we used the information office on the bus terminal at yarmouth and helped by peter . May i say he was superb , most helpful , had a chat and on our return to the terminal early afternoon he came over to us to ask how the day had gone . A credit to the company .

It is an excellent bus company in the Isle Of Wight, with buses always showing up and friendly drivers. Particulaly the Island Coaster which has very scenic routes.

I have bought two ad rover 24 hours and made me waited for more than half an hour. It's keep delaying as I have used 3 times I have faced delayed 2 times and they don't have any compression for delay.

On holiday on the Isle of Wight and travelling everywhere, every day by bus . The drivers have been friendly, helpful and put us right when we have made a mistake on more than one occasion. Bearing in mind the traffic and narrow roads we have been super impressed. Thank you all.

An unknown bus driver deliberately ignored a female bespectacled passenger and I waiting on the pavement at the Ventnor Central Car Park bus stop for the number 3 bus to Ryde at 12.20pm last Thursday - The driver went sailing past at 12.21pm who chose to leave us stranded for the sake of it. As we both saw the Bus, clearly the driver also saw Us, but chose to pretend that we weren't there.

The female passenger stayed at that bus stop to wait for the next bus, while I then walked up the road to the Grove House Surgery bus stop for the next available number 3 bus to Newport, which left Ventnor at 12.28pm, then the number 9 bus to Ryde where I had Reliable drivers on both routes, both ways, who all managed to wait for me and other passengers to travel on Their buses.

I had two important goals to accomplish last Thursday, which I had originally planned to do in This order, to make the most out of the time I visited my ill father, as the direct route Ryde bus option would have left Ventnor sooner, and arrived in Ryde much sooner than changing buses in Newport to then visit Ryde, which I would have done on the way back from Ryde -

To visit my ill father in Ryde;

To get printouts from Lord Louis Library in Newport so I could post two letters 1st class, which, despite the above incident, all successfully still happened

Due to this incident, I had to change the order around of my plans, which would have been less of an issue, if the driver hadn't unnecessarily delayed and reduced the timings of my plans.

Although I accomplished both goals, no thanks to the complacent driver, I had to reduce my time visiting Dad on this occasion in order to ensure that I also got urgent letters printed out in the Newport library then collected before the last post of the day, as Ryde Library is closed on Thursdays.

This also meant that, instead of meeting up with my father shortly after 1.29pm, I was delayed visiting him until after 2pm, due to the driver rudely ignoring us both waiting at the Ventnor bus stop.

Then, after I sent an e-mail complaint to Southern Vectis soon after the above incident, whomever has read my complaint has chosen to ignore it to brush the matter under the carpet instead of tackling the driver responsible and explaining what action would be taken against the driver.

I know that someone from Southern Vectis has read my complaint, as otherwise, the e-mail would have bounced undelivered, which demonstrates utter contempt for passengers and their complaints, and it also demonstrates that Southern Vectis condones this driver deliberately driving past us, as he or she couldn't be bothered to stop for us.

4 bus journeys cost me £14.70. Good thing they have a cap... Although nobody can tell you what the cap actually is.

The daily cap for buses in London, no matter how many you use, is £5.25

I was waiting at the bus stop with my dog, walking stick under my arm with credit card in hand. I waved the driver down twice in plenty of time. He just nodded at me and drove on past. It was so obvious I was waiting for the bus. Totally ruined my plans to meet friends. A diabolical service you can not rely on anymore. Taxi next time.

£3 for every different bus...so by the time you have got to Ryde from Cowes return it's £12! Is this a joke? Its cheaper in London. Clearly privately owned and solely for profit at those who cannot afford cars etc. A disgrace

I left my £500 phone with photos of my unfortunately passed great grandad on a bus, they took it into lost and found, it turns out, they only keep it for a month and then they give it to charity! I don’t have a car so I couldn’t get there in the span of a month because of schoolwork, about half a month later, I finally went to vectis busses to collect my phone, they said with a smile “we donated it to charity you should’ve come quicker” I asked them if I could possibly get it back to which I was declined because “they need it more than I” I may be taking this to court. Vectis, if you can see this, do better

MOST of the drivers are super professional and informative.
I would have given 5 stars had a laughing rude driver deliberately drive past our stop at great speed. The walk back along the main road with no pavement in the pouring rain clearly entertained the sad stupid man!
Shame on him as I was feeling actually very ill!!!!

The busses are clean, plentiful, cheap (£2 per journey) arrive on time and the drivers are polite and helpful. It was such a pleasure to be driven instead of being the driver
Oh, how I wish there was a bus service like this where I live.

Bought 7 day passes on App for our week on island for £30 each and have to say what a great service they provided.
Busses we're frequent ran on very late in day. Drivers were all polite and helpful on our frequent journeys .
Had an incident on a late bus coming out of Ryde when someone collapsed and driver dealt with situation in a very professional way.

Southern vectis bus services are absolutely brilliant. They are a civilised service with civilised bus drivers unlike the erratic monkeys driving the Metroline buses in London where injuries are common. Sincerely hope SV do not replace their brilliant drivers with cheap erratic monkeys. I only feel safe on SV buses, clearly the company maintain good standards and do not recruit cheap drivers with fake licenses from Timbuktu.

Caught the Needles Breezer today and had a wonderful time. Superb route, commentary really interesting and such a nice, welcoming and helpful driver. Please thank Grant ,the driver for all his help plus the lovely lady at the kiosk who guided me with suggestions of stop offs on the way. All Thank you 🙂

Since he start paying contactles they charged him £4 , even if two journeys or one
I contacted the customer service but they were not willing to try to resolve the issue
They just hung up the phone in a very rude manner 👎👎👎

I’m quite amazed at some of the comments about the IOW buses. I think some of these people should try some of the appalling services on the mainland. Southern Vectis have an informative website and user friendly, clearly well thought out and I would consider the actual services very good and plentiful. With conditions as they are on our roads with some inconsiderate and disgraceful driving by the public it’s a pretty tough job for a driver. Well done I say.

It's alright the problem is the tickets cost so much like £17 for a weekly I can pay cheaper for 2 weeks and one time I was on the bus and the driver was swerving and I was banging my head

About time Southern Vectis gave concessionary bus travel to those who are 60 and above in age! Other parts of the UK do! I will continue to use my car until this is in place. I'm NOT paying their prices for such a poor service. In Wales you get free prescriptions AND bus travel.
