Hotel from hell

Worst stay ever places absolutely stunk and was filthy, rubbish all over the place immediately checked out a hour after arrival, would never go back!
Owner was also incredibly rude and incompetent blaming me for the mess and suggesting I clean. A true disgrace to the industry he needs to get a grip on reality.

Filthy Property - A Health & Safety Hazard. Poor Service, Deceptive Owner, No Customer Loyalty.

- On arrival property smelt heavily like damp and dogs. Smell was the worst inside the kitchen.
- Dust and dirt on almost every surface such as on mirrors, windows, wall hangings. We also found hair from other guests in the bath drain and on photo frames.
- Shower head is broken held together with a hair band and toilet flush button is also broken.
- Found damp stains and blood on our bedding and pillow cases.
- We gave property owner an opportunity to resolve the issue and was told the issue would be investigated immediately on the day. 5 hours after making complaint and still nobody turned up to the property not even a cleaner. Instead we were told that they were still on the Mainland. Because of this, we ended up having to travel back to England due to the lack of effort and response from property and no other available properties on the island. Our entire holiday was ruined.
- Was told by property owner “obviously if you are unhappy you are entitled to a full refund” (which we have audio proof of) and he told us he would authorise it. 1 week later he has gone behind our backs and only authorised a 50% refund which is completely unacceptable having promised a full refund over the phone.
- Overall a very unpleasant property to stay at, a serious health hazard. Poor communication & customer service as well as unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour from property owner.

Advice to property owner:
- Learn how to do honest business. Don’t make promises you can’t keep.
- Health & Safety comes first, hire a reliable cleaner.
- Treat your customers with loyalty and fairness.
- Blocking and ignoring your customers isn’t a solution to the problem.

FYI if anyone would like to view photos of our experience of the property we have uploaded on TripAdvisor for proof - just search for ‘Calshot Studios in Ryde’
