Censoring cowards

What an absolute shower of scum this company has become. A bunch of cowards not only rolling over for their "payment processors" but going as far as completely delisting games that don't breach ANY rules, either themselves or their "payment processors" have set IN ANY WAY AT ALL.

Then, when you question them on why they have delisted your game and utterly damaged your livelihood with zero cause and warning, you just get an email spouting some rules that your game has broken, none of which your game has actually broken. Question them on that, and then they will completely ignore you like the cowards they are.

Itch.io is withholding payments without explanation and does not respond to support inquiries.

I sell on Itch.io, and recently they stopped processing my payouts without providing any explanation or means to resolve the issue. My payments remain stuck in a "Review" state, and their support has been completely unresponsive — there’s no way to contact a real person.

It’s been a frustrating experience. Fortunately, I don’t rely on income from Itch.io, but holding back hundreds of dollars without communication or justification is deeply concerning and borders on unethical behavior.

Awful customer services

Awful customer services. Every time I have tried to get in contact with them, it has taken over a month to reply for multiple issues over the year I've been using them.

Currently, they are incorrectly taxing me after me making my first attempt to withdraw my funds. They are showing no interest or urgency in fixing this, so are essentially stealing from my earnings. This along with their ridiculously overpriced payment processing fees - which are nearly 8 times the cost of similar platforms - I am receiving less than half of my earnings. After a month of waiting for a reply, they finally replied to tell me I need to retake the tax interview to provide the correct tax details (which were correct the first time). I have since taken this interview again and the interview itself even told me that I shouldn't be paying any tax based on my location. I have now been waiting for yet another 6 weeks for them to validate it so I can withdraw my funds without them stealing another 30% from me.

I'm going to hazard a guess I'm never going to see the other 30% they incorrectly took from me too.

Itch.io might be good for indie game…

Itch.io might be good for indie game makers in some ways, but their payment system is a total pain. It’s slow, confusing, and just doesn’t work well. Getting your money takes way too long, and they don’t explain what’s going on or why there are delays.

If you’re thinking about using itch.io to sell your game, be ready to deal with a broken system when it comes to payouts. They really need to fix this.

Bought about 40+ games

Bought about 40+ games, downloads and receipt for all purchases. Easy to account as content creator. Never attempted a refund, something lots of people here has complained about. However most games are just a couple of bucks and gives people the opportunity to sell their games ahead of Steam releases during development.

Be careful however, treat all small games with suspicion and only buy the assets in the big packs or charities so you know what you get.

Thi€v€s

I never heard about them and I never used the services or products they offer until one day they scammed me and charged me $20 on Paypal out of nowhere, without authorization and with no reason.

I contacted to their support mail and no one has responded for several days.

I don't know them, but their actions and silence show what they really are: Thi€v€s

System does not ban NSFW games- is this how its supposed to work?

So.. I have been playing itch.io for a year. A few weeks ago, I have published a game that was a mod of Incredibox. I searched itch.io on Google to get back an APK I found a year ago. But I found this NSFW section, and I decided to click it. There were over 10 NSFW games, which I absolutely despise. I did not have any time to report each, please ban these games. I am a minor and these games need to be banned by Itch.io.

Creator and Customer unfriendly

Besides the awful treatment of any kind of small infraction against the ToS, the worst part is: If some creator you bought of gets banned for whatever reason you can't even download the stuff you paid for of this creator anymore. At least in my case I cannot.
Not even Gumroad is that retarded.
