Shockingly Horrible Experience & Rude Manager
On May 14th and May 15th, I attempted to execute an external transfer from my Ivy account to facilitate an auto purchase for a special needs family member. My account holds a balance of $XXX,XXX.XX. Despite reaching out twice and finally speaking to a manager, I was informed that external transfers are not permitted. Furthermore, I was told that neither an external transfer nor a domestic wire transfer could be conducted.
When I inquired about accessing my funds, the response was silence. The transfer amount was $14,930.15, which would have left over $XXX,XXX.XX in my account. Despite maintaining professionalism, the manager, Stephen, was exceptionally rude. I offered to verify my identity, but the response remained the same: I was denied access to use my funds and advised to use another bank account.
To clarify, I hold accounts with Citibank, Discover, Trustmark Bank, and Guardian Credit Union. We have been with Guardian Credit Union for over 21 years, Discover for 18 years, Trustmark for 7 years, and Citibank for 2 years. I opened the Ivy account to ensure our funds' safety given federal deposit limits. In 27+ years of banking, I have never been denied access to my verified funds.
Guardian Credit Union successfully completed the transfer to the dealership within 90 minutes. I fail to see the value in maintaining an account with Ivy Bank if I cannot access my funds, perform a transfer, or complete a wire transfer. Accounts with balances approaching $400,000 are significant, especially for a bank of your size.
