They don't want to publish negative reviews
I had a very bad experience with a neurologist, who misdiagnosed my brain tumour for a migraine, and refused to let me have an IMR for over a year.
They refused to publish my review because - hold on - it was too late! Yes it took me over 6 months to be able to speak and write again after brain surgery.
Bottomline it looks like they don't want to publish negative reviews. There must be some conflict of interest somewhere in their setup.
It's very shameful.

A reliable site to review healthcare
I have left a couple of reviews on this site. The process was quick and allowed me to help other patients in the future.
Whilst I see that others have had problems getting their reviews published, my reviews have remained on the site - even though unfortunately I left a less than stellar review about a dismissive doctor whose communication skills need improvement!
Thank you for a very useful site.

Possibly personal medical data harvesting company
In my opinion this company is a data harvesting site under the guise of a review site, they ask very personal intrusive medical questions (irrelevant to the purpose of the site) in order to leave a review. The review is then not published. Is your personal medical data then sold on???. I left several honest reviews for a GP and each one was never published. I smell a rat here.

Better to be Independent
I was amazed that all the reviews of the surgeon I am interested in were five star. How could that be? In the ral world you do not encounter this much at all unless there is an ulterior motive. Who are the paymasters of iWant Great Care? Could they not reflect on the increased value of their product if they became truly independent-minded for the benefit of patients?

Modify visit one OCDEM OUH
I arrived half an hour early this morning for visit one of the Modify study at OCDEM. I was greeted at the entrance and was happy to see the Covid safety processes being followed in full. Both Nicky and Karyna were excellent in getting the information they needed in a truly polite, professional manner. They put me at ease throughout the entire time I spent with them. They explained what was going to happen at each step and were able to answer all the questions I had. Brilliant team. Well done. I cant wait for the next appointment for the MRI next week.

Not a fair site to use, only 5 star ratings are left any 3 star or under are removed from this site.
They only publish the good reviews. As another couple of reviewers have said. I had seen some poor reviews that I’d read and avoided a particular GP. I wrote a review about surgery about 9 months ago and it was showing, as a 2 star review. I saw it published. Then when I went to write another review on a different GP a five star one. The 2 and 5 star were both visible a week later.
Then I had a really bad experience at the surgery, before the lockdown and the assistant practice manager was awfully rude so I wrote my review only giving 1 star to the surgery. I’m a carer and a patient there and when it was anything to do with the person I cared for I seem to get a barage of questions like the lady referring to herself as assistant practice manager. As I did not want to give this person intimate details I was refused an appointment, so had to see the Dr I was avoiding who had moved there from a near by surgery, and it turned out to be a disaster as I’d guessed it would be.
Funnily when I went to write a thanks to everyone at the same GP surgery, later and when I checked every single one of the three star or lower reviews had been removed, apparently GP’s can ask to have poor reviews removed.
So, IWantGreatCare is actually not a true reflection of how patients feel.
It’s awful. It seems the GP’s as far as these reviews are concerned only want the good ones on there, this site does not keep mediocre or poor reviews. What purpose could it be serving by providing only good reviews and removing all but one three star or lower ratings.
This is not a fair website as the people who pay to run it can have just the reviews they like displayed.
Thanks for the reply which actually has no truth in it. Write professionally???
You don’t even know what I do or my education and profession and yet you are making assumptions. That says it all.
You really don’t have to justify removing bad reviews when asked to do so from paying customers. It’s a free service for patients so why would you keep the reviews your pay masters want removed. You are a business run only for profit. What else could we expect?
You certainly do not provide a fair service so people can get great care, your pay masters are the ones who are on there and can choose to have the truthful ones which are 1, 2 or 3 star reviews, removed at will.
Have you ever thought how any GP or Surgery can maintain a perfect 5 stars. Year on year for the last 10, 15, or 25 years. You’ve now stopped showing old reviews and just have a years worth, presumably so a pattern can not be detected. Clever stuff, but it fools no one. I do not believe and nor would anyone believe the surgery and each member of clinical or administrative staff always get everything 100% perfect.
Just think for yourselves I’ve been and will remain with my GP because they are good most of the time, but not 100% of the time on the odd occasion things go wrong. Not according to your reviews.
It’s amazing how the reviews remained on there for months and one fine day they disappeared. A bit odd to say the least.

No one can be trusted if they have 50+ 5 star reviews, and no 4 out of 5 reviews, whether buying a product or, as in this case reviewing a consultant!!
A consultant who I have seen 6+ times over the last 6 years is not perfect and 'listening' is certainly not 5 out of 5 stars......... so how surprised was I to find that he has 5 out of 5 stars 50+ times, with no scores below. Common 'I want great care', pull the other leg!!!!!!

Eye Surgery
I recently elected to have private surgery for my failing eyesight at the McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead.
The operation was carried out by Dr. Gok Ratnarajan and involved the removal of cataracts on both eyes and implanting two eyestents for treatment of glaucoma.
The results have exceeded expectations and I can once again see
colours, read without glasses and generally feel more confident tackling any task involving eye functions.
The surgeon, Mr. Gok Ratnarajan, was very professional and highly skilled explaining everything to my complete satisfaction.
I can recommend him and his team at the McIndoe Centre without
the slightest hesitation.
After the operation I have had two follow up appointments and the entire experience has been beyond reproach.

New Knee
Recently I had a total knee replacement at New Hall hospital, Salisbury. Before my operation my surgeon, Mr David Cox, explained what would happen and answered fully any questions I had. My surgery was almost pain free, so totally different from my experience with my other knee replacement in another hospital. Mr Cox and his team were friendly, reassuring and caring at all times. I have since had two follow up appointments with Mr Cox and have been very impressed with how efficient the system is at New Hall.
My surgery has been very successful and I have no hesitation in highly recommending Mr Cox and the staff in New Hall hospital.

The site that allows false reviews of a doctor.
This site is for patients and health professionals. Well what kind of site allows a review of a Dr who lied about a patient and made false accusations etc about a patient which left the patient more unwell because of what was said about the patient. When a Dr or health professional has done wrong in there job then other people who review these people should be made aware of this Dr or health professional so they know what to expect if they are able to keep their job even though they should be sacked though. Reviews should be removed if the Dr or health professionals have done wrong and currently there is a review of a Dr that has done just that told lies etc, so the review should be removed from the site. ASAP

I found this a great way to share open and honest feedback on a particular surgeon, enabling others to have comfort in the individual / support teams who underpin their work.

I had a cataract op in
I had a cataract op in October, performed by Miss Alison Rowlands, and I am so pleased with the results. It was as though I had been wearing sun glasses for years and suddenly took them off! I cant thank her enough. She was so pleasant, friendly, competent, she made me feel relaxed and confident in her and I had no fear of the op. Also, I must say the team in the theatre were wonderful too, so reassuring which must in part due to the lovely atmosphere. When I was first diagnosed for the op, I was given the choice of 4 different hospitals by the NHS I choose The Spire Murrayfield in Thingwall, Wirral but I think Miss Rowlands also works in
Arrowe Park. I would recommend her to anyone.

A great service to find and review care
A great service! A truly honest and reliable source of healthcare reviews. I can speak from experience, iwantgreatcare does not remove reviews on request (unless there is a legitimate reason) or accept money for review removal (as some below have implied). I have used multiple times to search for and review care and some of my colleagues have used the service for years.

Thankyou for returning me to fitness again
A big thankyou to Mr Ben Spiegelberg and his team for my recent successful knee replacement at St Albans Hospital. I am very grateful to be able to return to helping with conservation activities, birdwatching, hiking and a normal life. He, the wonderful nurses and the physiotherapists took time to reassure me and answer my questions at every stage, which made it much easier to return to an active life.

I want great care appear to have…
I want great care appear to have suddenly, within the last 5 days, removed the majority of negative reviews of doctors on their site. This must total 100s of reviews.
I have only ever left a couple of good reviews of doctors on the site but the bad reviews did provide a warning about who it would be less advisable to see. I can imagine iwgc do not publish and/or do remove alot of bad reviews due to libel law but to remove the majority of the historical bad reviews seems to defeat the purpose of the site.

Hip Replacement
An elderly patient, I had a hip replacement in 2007, which became loose and painful as a consequence. I had revision surgery at Treliske Hospital, Truro, under Mr.Dan Williams, which eliminated the pain. The operation and recovery were, to my surprise, quick and pain free. In late 2018 similar pains returned, causing walking difficulties, and after two X-rays, I met Mr Williams again. In fact the pains were caused by my ankylosing spondulitis and not the replacement prosthesis, which was functioning properly. I am grateful to Mr.Williams and his team for a completely successful operation.
